There was a January direct, just like how Joker and Erdrick were revealed in the February direct!

Okay, okay, geez guys, you're bombarding my alerts box, it's about to explode. Yes, as I remember there was a direct, but I jumped to conclusion, it wasn't a main one at that, it was a indies direct.

It was still a DIRECT because it ANNOUNCED games, right? RIGHT?

Apparently a direct could be happening this week and it could be a big one at that, what do you think of that? The date would make sense actually because Reggie is retiring in a week, we need an update on the new character Joker, and many more reasons.

The source doesn't have a great record. But even when they're completely wrong, they usually don't go in on a specific date (both times they did that they were right) , so I'm somewhat optimistic about this one.

The Direct will happen whenever Nintendo wants to.

I would rather wait a chunk of time for an enjoyable Direct rather than rush Nintendo to make one and end with another State Of Play case.

Reliability of the source aside, another general direct coming up soon would make sense (though tbh, stuff 'making sense' isn't always a great way to predict what Nintendo's actually gonna do). I was initially behind there being no more general directs until e3, but the Best Buy leaks (sans the Persona 5 stuff, which Atlus will want to announced themselves) makes me feel that there's enough material to justify another direct before e3 (assuming that none of the major titles this year get delayed, god forbid)

Also, I'm guessing they might want an opportunity to go through some of the new features in Mario Maker 2 before it launches - there's E3, but that'll be a bit too close to the release date.

specifically, a direct on the 10th - the nindies one got announced for the 23rd and they seized on that as HA LOOK WE WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG SEE GUYS

i could say "yeah so we're getting an april direct on the 11th, trust me guys", but if one was later announced for the 18th that wouldn't make me retroactively right

Hey guys, I’m an insider with a bunch of sources, and my most credible source has told me that the next Smash Bros direct will come before the end of the year. If they announce it on Twitter before the year ends, you’ll know I was right.

Watch Sakurai ending up being literal on the statement about the November Smash Direct being the last one, thus we aren’t getting more Smash-centered Directs for Ultimate.

I've changed my opinions on things (i.e. social issues) a significant amount over the years.

And as someone who is a self-confessed Hikikomori, none of those changes came about from face-to-face interaction.

Anyone can change, for the better, or the worse, but if you want people to change for the better you have to give them a chance.

The Direct is capped off with a Gordon Freeman Smash reveal, along with the announcement of Half-Life 3 being in development for Nintendo Switch

Only for a development update video to be uploaded a year and a half later, discussing the fact that that they weren't pleased with the project, so they're restarting it from scratch

Well with the datamines, I think that we will either get a mini direct on smash, or at least a decently sized portion of a regular direct dedicated to smash very soon.

Maybe I mixed up some characters.
I remember him posting an art of a MK character with blue overalls bored on a street stand. Maybe I got the colours wrong.

Tbf, I was worried about not seing Johnny Cage, Noob Saibot or Liu Kang playable this time. I could see why some people may worry about their characters not getting in.

Thankfully, I got everyone I wanted here besides one single guest.
