No, it isn't.

The things that people are capable of in seemingly limited creation games like Minecraft and Super Mario Maker are actually incredibly impressive.

I wouldn't call any of them "lazy".
Imagine what they could make with no limits at all, then.
Oh it has some critiques I agree with, such as the art style, which is why I didn't mention it. I have nothing to argue about that, I agree with you on that, just your adittude could be better. Also, why are you acting like I'm saying "Minecraft is the best wdgiyhgfobuawjsln!!!1!!" because I'm not. It's bassically shoving words inside my mouth...

I would play Terraria but man I suck at it.
I just want someone to agree with me! I want to here someone else say that Minecraft isn't actually all that good and that they wish it's elements weren't forcing themselves into other genres (and mean it). I want to know I'm not a freak because I can't get into block-world with murder-face.
Yet again, this is just another example of you thinking binary extremes as a backing for your opinion.
I think it's valid to feel the game is too limited to your liking, but I don't think it's accurate to say that because it's limited it's not worth being creative with it.

Like I said before, limitations beget creativity. With these limitations, people have made tons of incredibly impressive things and I'm not one to short them for it just because you can't freely paint.

If you had no limitations at all and can just paint however you would like, then that would be an art program and not a video game.
But then you can see the true scope of your imagination, you can breed true innovation and art. You can create whole new worlds of expression and story and meaning. You can't do that with limits.
i'm not doing ****

nobody on smashboards is doing ****

stop ****ting on randos on the internet for liking stuff they like

take your issues up with the developers or something i don't ****ing know but this weird crusade you got going on is not any of our problem
See above.

Whatever. I'm gonna drop it. I shouldn't be loading my baggage onto you guys. All that's gonna do is make you all hate me.

Funny how all that good will can evaporate in an instant when dealing with passionate contrarian opinions.

it helps that his animations and expressions are literally impossible to hate

I coincidentally made a snapshot of that after I saw the one from I think Twitter months ago?

Spoiler due to large images.
It's ya cat, and he actually has two of Guzma's poses.

Seriously, I love how expressive some characters are in this game. Pit and Incineroar tend to be among my favorites when it comes to expressions. It's like each game, some characters get more and more expressions, and this is most definitely true in Pit's case for example.

Time to answer the call

Merric would be an interesting character. Robin has brought in a mage based moveset from FE and that's appreciated, but he still relies on the (Levin) sword for quite a few attacks, so Merric could easily stand out from him by focusing even more on magic and range over Robin's CQC. Additionally, there's very few characters that make use of wind attacks so something that plays into the strength of a tornado or using breezes to get proper spacing for attacks would also add some interesting flair to him.

The only issue is that IS seems to care about Archanea just as much as TCPi cares about Pokémon Z, so for Merric to make his debut he has to fight against his own company's perception to win favor with Sakurai.
My god Merric would be fun in Smash. Objectively he's not even the first Archanea character that'd be added after Marth, and probably not even the third, but still. I definitely think, at the very least, Caeda, Tiki, Hardin, and probably Minerva would out-prioritize him on an importance scale (not including horseback units here since I think there are more issues working them into Smash than for flying units), but dammit he'd be fun.

Wind Boxes, the character.

Imagine the timeline where the Grinch leak was real. Where would we even be in speculation anymore?
I'd be salty for a few reasons.

1. Bandana Dee is nowhere to be seen, but all the other fan requests are playable
2. No Pokemon. "This is insane! I would've eventually learned to love Incineroar" Alternate Universe me yells.

The grass is always greener on the other side. At least we probably still have Plant.

Minecraft is fun but TBH I prefer Starbound for sandbox shenanigans these days. :drshrug:

MC's modding community is always a delight, though. The Portal Gun mod will never not be fun to use.

The real question is will it be final smash or one of the victory screen.
probably victory screen - they've been emphasising 'quick' final smashes, so taking the time to throw in a splash screen at the end of his FS would probably take too long

Yeah, one last thing about my friend and Incineroar:

I remember when I was chatting with my friends through WhatssApp during the eve for that Smash Direct, and decided to make a short description of the most popular rumours about the Direct: Grinch and Kencineroar
Nobody literally said anything when I posted Grinch, but when I explained Kencineroar my Pokémon friend got excited and posted something in the lines of “Damn! It may be not be Gengar, but God I hope that we at least get Incineroar!”

I could imagine how my friend reacted when he saw Incineroar’s eyes on that dark entrance during his trailer.

He'd probably have a Cloud style looping victory.

Which would go great for his "runs circles around the camera" victory pose.
that said, i imagine he'll also have a victory stinger

this video is probably pretty close tbh

I can't relate because I don't Persona, nor would I get him for DLC, but if people take snapshots and deliver, I'd be up to see what expressions come to us, same with animations. Animations, expressions, angles, and effects can be a good combo for great Smash photography.

I guess we also technically have Professor Oak in the game too.
And Heihachi, too

I can't think of a better swansong for Unshō Ishizuka than getting to voice a character in a juggernaut game such as Super Smash Bros

It made Incineroar's inclusion much more special

I imagine that Gamexplain or Master Of Hyrule will post every animation or victory scene on Youtube.

Yeah, I know I didn’t make it clear but I was actually strictly talking about the face. The face itself was clearly used as a reference for that particular pose of Sonic.
Just drew this, using both the Felix and Sonic graphics as a reference. It took me 11 minutes.
IMAGE0072.JPG

Might be accurate, might not be. But like I said, the Sonic image likely isn't traced.

There's a psychological state called "Paralysis of Choice", when you're given too many options, your brain freezes and you end up making no decision at all.

It's why Super Mario Maker drip-feeds the stage elements to you in batches, because if you were given all of the tools at once, the average player wouldn't know where to start.

This is kinda funny as the last Smash direct was the only one I couldn't watch with my friends as I was at work then

I decided to see the difference between the English and Japanese voice acting for certain characters, and man is the difference for Wolf staggering.

I'm the exact opposite. I freeze up when I'm given limits and guidelines. It puts my brain in a state where the only ideas I can come up with are impossible because they break the limit or violate the guideline. It's why college sucks.

I already posted this on my profile, but I just rewatched K. Rool's reveal trailer, and in the part where they showed the heroes and their respective villains, I could've sworn there was a clip of Pikachu fighting MewTwo, but when I rewatched it, no such clip existed. WTF

God, everyone hates me now.

Why did I do this to myself?

See you later I guess. You probably won't want me back though.
Girl, I'm pretty sure most people think you're cool outside of when you get heated about stuff like this. It's like how most people think Delzethin is a very respectable guy with good videos but loses all that whenever he brings up Lycanroc

Well from the latest interview, we know Sakurai definitively approached Atlus for Joker, despite him saying the "selection was made by Nintendo." so who knows, perhaps Sakurai chose another character of a game franchise he was a fan of.

patiently waits for someone to compile a list of every game Sakurai has ever mentioned playing ever.

Calling other people out for liking things you dislike isn't a "passionate contrarian opinion".

The Human Memory is a fickle, easily manipulated thing.

You were merely the victim of the Mandela effect.

For real though, as much as I'm a top tier Banjo supporter, the first game isn't THAT good.
I find it charming and I like the characters, and the locations, but some of the gameplay was a little stilted for my liking.
For instance, before Rare Replay, your note progress per world isn't saved iirc
Made getting a 100% hard. I did it on Rare Replay though.

A lot of issues that the game had though were fixed in Tooie though. Tooie is one of my favorite games.
I'm almost the complete opposite. I like a lot of the things they did in Tooie like bunching together note & consumable pickups, warp pads, multiple playable characters, and the connectivity of the levels, but sometimes it feels like there's a lot of nothing in that game. The worlds are huge so it leads to a lot of walking back and forth and dead space, something that the warp pads only sort of help alleviate. Compare that to Kazooie where all the worlds are very compact with there always being something to do, with only Click-Clock Wood being sort of an exception. I also think the worlds in Kazooie are a bit more memorable, they feel so much more alive and vibrant than Tooie's did, where the charm was much more muted in contrast. The only level that truly stood out to me in the same way as most of Kazooie's levels was Jolly Roger Bay.
I still think Tooie is a great game, but Kazooie still edges it out for me in spite of it's flaws.

It's weird, because the reason I know that Pikachu wasn't there was because I remembered just five musical cues for new scenes. :p

Mario vs Bowser. Link and Zelda vs Ganondorf, Kirby vs Meta Knight, Fox and Falco vs Wolf, Samus vs Ridley.
