Apologies if this is a bad time or if this rustles anyone’s jimmies but I just wanted to share this sweet Banjo-Kazooie for Smash art I found:

I'm pretty cool with a lots of characters getting in, not because I care for some of them if they get in or not ,but because I know the only character I truly want will never be a reality.


So, hey, gotta be happy with what you got, ya know? (beside DBZ!Goku, Goku is the only character I legimatly don't like at all and don't want in this game as a character, Mii Costume is fine tho.)

Also, why is there a emote of Asriel on this forum?

If Banjo turns out to be Brave, I will totally be happy with that, as I will reign victorious over tehponycorn at Round 1 and be happy for the fans.
Plus, I think the team is great at making good movesets for characters.

iirc their website provider was ****ing them about so they just moved to a super-basic interface/host while they look for a new one

absolutely one of the reasons it gained so much traction

people had been dreading incineroar for months, so anything that killed him off was extra appealing

of course then sakurai gave him a great moveset and shut everyone up, but those were some fearful days

It wasn't necessarily that but people were dreading Incineroar was all that was left.

Also huh you're kinda right as I barely ever see anyone hate Incineroar or try to downplay them these days other than people who're going "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE GEN 7 POKEMON I WANTED"

Well from the latest interview, we know Sakurai definitively approached Atlus for Joker, despite him saying the "selection was made by Nintendo." so who knows, perhaps Sakurai chose another character of a game franchise he was a fan of.

patiently waits for someone to compile a list of every game Sakurai has ever mentioned playing ever.

If Banjo got in, I would be happy for the fans.
I sadly never played Banjo and Kazooie, considering I do not have a N64.
Bolts and Nuts is not cutting it either.

This is the only complaint I heard about that game. Everyone I know loves that game.

I love the game too, but I feel like it's another scenario similar to Kingdom Hearts 1 where anyone who likes KH typically remembers it fondly but... going back to play it hurts your soul a bit

Though in the case of KH, KH1 is worse imo lol

Yesterday on Twitter I was talking about how Sonic’s design was partially based on Felix The Cat and I used this art as an example:

I realized after posting it that the face looked familiar, and surprisingly enough the art I ended up thinking about was actually this:

That particular art of Feelix can be fond on dvd/vhs covers and the official website/merchandise with the face itself being reused from an old comic cover.

So, like, Ohshima-san basically traced Sonic’s face from Felix?..

Here's my opinion as an Artist.

This doesn't seem like a trace to me. The Felix style is pretty simple, and therefore decently easy to replicate; Ohshima more than likely used the image of Felix as a reference point when drawing that picture of Sonic. There are several subtle differences between the two faces, especially in the mouth and jaw.

That's not even getting into the enormous differences between the two in terms of the body. Were it a trace, the sizes of the two images would match up a lot more cleanly.

I like the idea of combining Nuts & Bolts blocky proportions with the classic designs. Makes me think.

I wasn’t really planning on playing as him but then I played one game and he ended up being one of my favorite in the cast through sheer charm lol

Can't turn back time once a character is revealed. And in pre-hoc fashion, I also neither really care to actually get into speculating who will be in the next game, since it won't really change the outcome.

So here’s something actually about Smash...

I know most think Joker is coming at the end of April. But there is some doubt about it. So starting from April 29th, Japan will enter into its Golden Week which this year is a bit special as the government managed to line up the new Emperor’s coronation together with other holidays to create an extra long ten week holiday.

I think we will get an announcement of a smash direct sometime after the 14th but before the 20th with a release of the 3.0 update and Joker a little before or during this Golden week. I’m placing my money on April 26th for the update.

I forget when Golden Week takes place but you do bring up an interesting point. Thanks for that.

-Noctis is in Dissidia with Cloud from FF7
