Meanwhile I've yet to actually defeat a post-hardmode boss.
Gonna be real when I say I started cheating hardmode after I got tired of the potion grinding. (I actually had a deadline for beating Terraria because college.) When you have to learn a whole new game, enemies, items, options, etc, just to beat the mechanical bosses, I feel something could have been done to linearly teach me how to play through everything like how you started off pre-hardmode.
When I cheated and got an item one tier above when I should have gotten it, though, it started feeling more manageable and fun. No shame because I don't feel like losing to the Moon Lord and fighting the Lunatic Cultist and the Lunar Events to have another shot.

I'm not gonna lie. This whole Minecraft topic you guys have conjured here is incredibly toxic. Can we please move on?
It's been a while since we talked about

Merric.

Imo Master Chief is the best of both worlds when it comes to Banjo vs Steve. He has popularity, success, influence, moveset potential, really everything a Smash newcomer needs other than being not related with Nintendo at all. He really is a dream pick, for me at least.
I would take Master Chief over Banjo to be honest.

I never really built anything amazing in Terraria because I was more of the person who wanted to slay all of the bosses instead.

This is what glory looks like.

Minecraft didn't fill the combat niche that Terraria had, though. It's atmosphere was surprisingly brilliant for its minimalist presentation, but that's all I can say I feel it has over Terraria beyond the mods. (**** losing all of your items when you die.) I don't think I'd have Terraria without Minecraft, though, so I respect Minecraft and it would be the closest thing I can get to Terraria in Smash lol.
I dont like games that feature hunger, but that's why i see minecraft as more of a survivor game. Tho i guess some mods could work, but Terraria just feels nice and yeah it's way more about exploring and fighting. More progression. The only thing missing is some villages and more 'elite' enemies in between bosses. Other than that it's a masterpiece :)

Sandbox games?
Well, my favourites are easily Minecraft, Dragon Quest Buildes 1 (although 2 has potential to be even better), LEGO Worlds and Disney Infinity 3.0.

I should try Terraria too doh, I heard it’s great.

The spiders in Minecraft creep me out with the way they move and sound.

like banjo-kazooie: nuts & bolts for the xbox 360
My brother and his best friend have an adorable rivarly.

My brother never actually played a B&K game but won a free copy of Nuts & Bolts when he was a kid and loved it, so he loves Banjo. The best friend hates that and pleads for him to play a real Banjo game and my brother refuses so he can continue to say N&B is the best Banjo game.

The best friend in turn plays every Fire Emblem character in Smash and refuses to ever play their games or call them by their real names. I think my favorite name he came up with was calling Chrom "Girl Marth's brother".

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, Jones.

When someone likes or dislikes something and states so publicly, it's nobody's job to validate that opinion. It's the opinion-sharer's job to present his or her opinion in an approachable and interesting way in order to spawn a discussion; putting the onus on other people to try and give weight to an opinion that is being aggressively thrown around as fact is misplacing that responsibility.

There are opinions that are meant to be talked about and then there are opinions that are meant to be antagonistic. The former gets a "why" reaction, the latter gets a "what". It starts with how the opinion is shared.
I partially agree with you, make no mistake.

My point is more, despite a point being aggressively made or maybe being a bit...antagonizing, what good does it do to simply make that person angrier or make them feel little? Sure, the presentation wasn’t great and was sure to bother somebody, but as I always say, “two negatives don’t make a positive in society. It makes a bigger negative”.

I also feel that, unfortunately, discourse in society cares less about the emotional reasoning for why people say certain things and we look to discredit the “what” and disregard the reasoning.

Then again, i’m like a pseudo existentialist and am likely too nice about things. It’s all I can do to stave off the encroaching existential dread.

Waluigi deserves a spot on the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch Entertainment System (2018) playable character roster.

Son Goku or some other incarnation of Sun Wukong needs to be in Smash. In this essay, I will--
I too, want Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5 for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 in Smash.

You really should. It is a great experience.
It is a lot more fantasy-like than Minecraft, so if you like fantasy and sandboxes, you will like Terraria.

Sun Wukong himself would be sick, you can't deny.

this is what people have a problem with

not that you have opinions but that you're so damn militant and arrogant with them
If you don't want me to be militant than stop invading the tings I like with elements that don't belong. Stop forcing crafting systems and open worlds and leveling up into simple platformers and hack-n-slashes. Let me enjoy what I like and stop trying to turn it into something you like.
Lego Movie, much?
Like I haven't heard THAT before. Look, it's a fine movie. I only wished that is didn't completely demonize the father and acknowledge that they way he enjoys the toys is just as valid.

Okay.
  1. I take it you've never heard the phrase "limitation breeds creativity".
  2. Not everyone has the time or energy to learn how to draw, sculpt or write; but learning how a video game works takes very little time since it's all made up of transferable skills.
  3. Some people find the blocky aesthetic charming.
So it's lazy creativity. Good to know.
Look, nothing is perfect, everything has limitations. I think one reason you dislike this game is because you are expecting way to much out of it.
Yeah basically what my son said

I don't at all agree with the opinion but that's besides the point.
You can't just try to assert such subjective things as if you're correct about that because there's no truth value to such things.
I feel like my post has at least a bit of an objective critique in it. But can you blame me for being agressive when it's either "Minecraft is god and should be everywhere" or "You're satan for not liking it and wanting it's elements to stay where they belong"

I’ll take it in mind then!
If I remember right, I have a friend who owns the game for PS Vita, so maybe I’ll ask him about trying it.

It is only 7 dollars on Steam.
That is quite cheap, if you ask me.

And let's not forget: limitations beget creativity.
This post remind me of Super Mario Maker.

This game is limited as **** in some aspect, but man, it feel great when you pass around those limitations and end up making a really cool level because of it.

Still, Nintendo, if you read this, give us more option in SMM2, MOAR.

It's really good. It takes a while to learn, though, and I would recommend asking us for tips if you have issues anywhere. Somecallmejohnny didn't need to look up a guide, though, so maybe you'll do better than I did when I first played because I was, like, 12 on my first time.

No, but in the defense of everyone else here, if anyone was being rude or condescending in any other context people respond accordingly, so I don't think stating an opinion in a forceful, militant way is a get out of criticism free card

If you bring something up for conversation in a forum, surely we should be able to talk about the subject without toxicity. Though when one side imbalances that, I have a hard time faulting the other for responding accordingly.

Most of the responses towards their arguments are typically civil unless they're personally attacked.

Thankfully SMM2 seems to have more options already, with the addition of slopes and the desert theme.

No, it isn't.

The things that people are capable of in seemingly limited creation games like Minecraft and Super Mario Maker are actually incredibly impressive.

I wouldn't call any of them "lazy".

I recommend playing it on a computer. Terraria was made with keyboard controls and a mouse first and foremost.

Oh it has some critiques I agree with, such as the art style, which is why I didn't mention it. I have nothing to argue about that, I agree with you on that, just your adittude could be better. Also, why are you acting like I'm saying "Minecraft is the best wdgiyhgfobuawjsln!!!1!!" because I'm not. It's bassically shoving words inside my mouth...

I would play Terraria but man I suck at it.

i had a dream/nightmare/weird vision where SMM2's 3D world theme was paid DLC in the form of a £30 expansion pack

of all the weird dreams i've had, that was among the weirdest

Sometimes I still wonder what Smash would be like if Sakurai chose to put Alucard and Decidueye after all. My friends would have preferred that timeline because no whips but I'm always wondering what
Imagine the timeline where the Grinch leak was real. Where would we even be in speculation anymore?

At least you can know everything you can build, thanks to the guide guy in the game and how recipes work. It's a bit complicated in some ways but at least it's all there to learn with.

My friend from Madrid who loves Pokémon would keep being happy about the roster since it would still have a Pokémon rep, so I would be fine too.
