I want Erdrick but the whole schtick about him being confirmed and not being confirmed feels old at this point.

Or it could very well that Joker wasnt ready to show yet. Plus if Joker had an alt like Jane, they could just omit showing it in the trailer until later. They didnt show several alts for characters like ZSS ones until close to release.

I'm not a game designer but considering how most of the Smash 4 dlc were shown 2 months before release I think, there's a damn good chance Joker was presentable

Tbf the alts that weren't shown alongside off have never been for newcomers

I swear erdrick debates are becoming more common than block bear debates.
I think he’s probably happening but I wouldn’t say he’s a definite lock.

Probably the reason why is because PolarPanda pretty much came out of nowhere saying "uh most likely Steve out, Banjo in", which also inadvertently kinda halted Steve debates quite a tad, from what I've seen. Sad, the meme economy was thriving off of Steve here.

That, and DQ still needs to catch work over here in the West, so people will debate a primarily Japanese-known character to hell and back.

I’m still afraid everyone’s going to forget male Joker is even in the game if he gets a Fem alt.

I'll be playing whatever one has the design I like more. As it stands right now, I'm playing Joker. However, if Jane looks cool, I'll play her. Pretty much as simple as that for me.

Probably the reason why is because PolarPanda pretty much came out of nowhere saying "uh most likely Steve out, Banjo in", which also inadvertently kinda halted Steve debates quite a tad, from what I've seen. Sad, the meme economy was thriving off of Steve here.

That, and DQ still needs to catch work over here in the West, so people will debate a primarily Japanese-known character to hell and back.

I'm not a game designer but considering how most of the Smash 4 dlc were shown 2 months before release I think, there's a damn good chance Joker was presentable

Cant remember, but was Cloud's AC alt shown at all when he was revealed or did they wait until the Direct afterwards. I dont remember seeing it in his debut trailer.

i ended up staying up till 6am playing the game and beat 7.
Partway through 8 now.

Gotta say, even though the existence of green hair waifu was spoiled for me I didn’t know who she was and that scene was pretty damn impactful

Also Rex is now basically using Pyra, Nia, and whoever else right now. Zeke still has Zenobia because you were right about that being broken lmao

I really feel like you're underestimating Dragon Quest as a franchise...

Dragon Quest is huge in Japan, and one of the first franchises that comes to mind when they think of video games. I think Gwen said it best when she compared it to Halo, because that's literally how big of deal it is over there. In fact, it's even bigger. Merch is everywhere, and game releases are pretty much an event. So much so that they have to release 'em on weekends, so kids wouldn't stay home from school just to play them.

I don't see the point in comparing the two timespans. "Coming soon" is an incredibly common phrase, so I'm hoping that soon means soon.

It's because Etika constantly overreacts whereas Max's reaction was genuine as he's been vocal on loving FFVII. The fact he realized it instantly because of the music helps

A small part of me is worried as well. The only thing giving me hope is how much Sakurai loved that game. That's the only thing keeping me positive on it being a really good, faithful moveset.

He legit looks like a rejected Gen V lookin ass Pokemon. I mean, I'm sorry if there are still any supporters, but man, I just couldn't get myself to like or want to know this Pokemon at all.
