That interview/statement seems like it's one of those "we don't know what counts as *of realizable fighters* as far as the Smash 4 ballot winner" things.

They probably have a set restriction on how far out there they want to go (not just the no manga/anime characters thing, but also how much it would cost/who they would have to work with). Nintendo/Sakurai probably already had an idea of who they were wanting to approach before the deals/announements were made final.

Since we talking about characters and why we use em, i do it because i like the character, none of this tier stuff. I’ve been playing since the first day of Super Smash Bros 64 as a huge nintendo fan. Never was good at fighting games (lol smash. a fighting game, more like party game amirite?)

jokes aside, if i liked the series or character, i will use them, regardless of how others may see them in a competitive scene.

This pretty much sums up my reasoning for why I play anyone in Smash, TBH. Inkling being in the top 3 (potentially) was just a happy accident; I was gonna play them no matter what.

As for the topic of who I played in Smash 4? ,,,,, , and were my go-to characters.

Wolverine in Mortal Kombat is now more likely... And I would love to see it happening.

All that I ask for is playable Nightcrawler in whatever game this may be, stand-alone Marvel or crossover. If anyone can pull off a moveset for an acrobatic swordfighter with teleportation, it’s NRS. (Also a special/finisher using Magik’s Soulsword would be great)

i usually use characters that i like for funsies but when winning is slightly more important i typically roll with whichever one i'm best with and enjoy playing competetively (as competetively as ****ing quickplay can get- lmao)

in sm4sh the stars aligned and i loved shulks playstyle the most and also liked shulk but in this game goddamn if wolf isn't fun as hell to use

Pac-man is a pretty good character a lot of people sleep on. I'd definitely try him out in Ultimate.

But I'd honestly play Corrin without worrying about tier lists, see how she feels, and then just start playing whomever looks good. Experiment for awhile.

Right so I'm not going to list Skull Kid's, cos I think Zelda's current music selection is pretty much fine. All it's missing is Lorule Castle, Clock Town and Hyrule Castle (the Alttp version).
