I'd argue Tsubasa is more of a main character than Itsuki but agreed.

Eh, I think the dlc is probably gonna be all third party but Porky would be pretty sick. We need more characters in mechs, especially spider-mechs.

This. I don't think we'll get more than one fighter passes but even if we do, why they'd make them exclusively third party or first party or switch to one when the other is successful?

you know as neat as porky would be, i can't help but think just how weird he would feel being thrown in after persona, dragon quest and potentially even ****ing minecraft

also he doesn't really fit in with the smash DLC objective as nintendo stated to their shareholders (i.e. bring in new audiences); most mother fans are probably already playing smash, and i don't think a mother villain is going to change that

I personally believe that we're gonna get soley third party characters as DLC, and Nintendo strategically chose them to strengthen bonds with the other companies.

If we ended up getting Hyness playable in Star Allies, would he be alongside the other Dream Friends in the end of the Final Boss... Or something would have been done to not do so?

Feel free to correct me because I talk without enough knowledge, but aren’t Touhou characters normally chibi?

As far as I know, they aren't.
They are usually represented with a bigger head just like most anime characters, but they aren't really chibi aside of some specific cases.
There's also a chibi version of Miku Hatsune, some games on the 3DS featured her as the main character (I think)... but I think if they want to add her to Smash, they would add the regular version, not the chibi one.

As desperate as I am, I at least want a Kirby character who makes sense. I don't want Sakurai filling a board with random Dream Friends and throwing darts to decide who gets in.

That would be great actually. Mother doesn't really do official artwork. It does clay models as an official character design.

Gonna be honest:
If they expanded the suit to cover the whole arms except the hands, and made the pants a bit bigger and more blocky... It would be a pretty awesome costume.

The real reason why I wouldn't think he's in is because every fighter is supposed to come with a stage, and we already have New Pork City for him.

When it comes to gaining more players with the DLC... I actually believe that Crash would be a great choice for that.

Ever since N.Sane Trilogy released the IP has given a good and insane chunk of profits to Activision, either from the games or even the merchandising.
I feel like adding Crash in would give interest to a lot of people who may not even own Ultimate, that without counting how expanded the Crash fandom is.

The only huge bit against Crash that I could imagine is the whole “Character who returned too late” argument, but even that isn’t completely clear to completely discard him.
