So it turns out that Playstation didn't steal every aspect of Nintendo's Directs.

They forgot the exciting games.

State of Play (because game companies thinking "Play" is a thought-provoking concept that, when used as a noun, makes them seem more profound, when in reality it just makes things seem more childish) in a nutshell:

- I was excited for Iron Man for several seconds before seeing it was a VR game, setting the tone for the presentation really well.
- "The gameplay feels crunchy" is Earthbound-tier terrible marketing.
- "Freakers" is probably the most unintentionally hilarious thing to call a horde of zombies.

FNAF VR looked pretty good, honestly. My only complaint is that this character's color scheme is COMPLETELY wrong. This is him in the VR game

Although I am super happy with more voice lines from Heather Masters. She's a great VA.

Ehhhh I dunno. Microsoft were killing it last year and have some pretty exciting things around the corner.

Nintendo needs to step it up from last year, as last year was pretty much nothing but a Smash Direct.

Because content creators think people hate things being "goofy", and the word "Zombie" has been considered goofy for many years.

People think that if you want your work to be taken seriously, you have to shave off anything that could be considered even remotely silly.

It's a similar thought process as the eternal pursuit for "realism".

It's just an annoying trend, especially since the other names are just more silly: walkers? freakers?

This Direct coupled with last year's E3 is honestly making me really wonder what the heck goes on at Sony HQ that they think presentations like these are entertaining or are a good way of communicating with fans.

They have their collective heads placed firmly betwixt their cheeks.

Though I did actually kind of unironically enjoy the musical thing that you're referencing, even if I didn't really care about the game it was meant to advertise.

Female Snake isn't wearing pants, Because Male Snake doesn't wear pants.

Though to be honest, both Snake and Male Zero Suit Samus should be wearing super-hero "briefs", because it's meant to conceal the crotch area.

I know that there are fans of their exclusive games.
But I feel like those are completely dissapointed with this thing.

nintendo's type of fanbase is pretty unique among the main three

Based on this and them skipping E3, I think it's likely that Sony doesn't really have anything big to show for this year cause they're gearing up for PS5 next year, I think they did this just so they didn't go the entire year without news.

I've been saying this for the last two years. Sony's coasting to the end of this generation because they already won it; there's no reason to keep trying to win over fans with big first-party investments when you already won over everyone you're going to win over.

They've been showing us nothing at the past three E3s but Days Gone, Spider-Man, God of War and Last of Us Pt.2. Two of those are out, one is almost out and the other should be out by Christmas. Those are the only exclusives they needed to close out the PS4's life cycle on a strong note while letting their pretty much guaranteed third-party support carry the rest of the load. They're in the position every console developer wants to be in.

Until they're ready to announce the PS5, there's no reason to prematurely announce games for it or even have an E3 presence at all. Every third party game Xbox announces at their E3 will probably sell more on PS4 anyway.

Seems like Scott is stepping up his game, which is nice. FNAF - FNAF 4 seemed pretty lackluster if you ask me, so I am glad we are getting some more interesting gameplay.
