But to answer your question, it was better than Cars 2, but still terrible. The Cars franchise has a lot of potential, but the original is still the only movie that's proven itself. Maybe that's because it's the only movie that has meaningful character development.

Kinda like how Piranha Plant has a Palutena's Guidance convo, despite the fighter pass charcters being confirmed to not have one?

The plant was probably being worked on during the base the game.

Same thing can't be said for the other DLC characters

Actually given that my planty boi had a :ultpalutena: guidance and that the dlc characters will not
It’s come to me that plant was supposed to be in the base roster I wouldn’t count that as good evidence just yet.

I mean considering it’s the only DLC character that’s gotten a Palutena’s Guidance and they confirmed no others will be getting one, it’s fair to assume it was meant to be in the base roster.

Why would they give the DLC fighter's spirits, if they were gonna be playable later anyways?

Because the DLC characters probably weren't decided on at that point.

They probably wanted to get every notable Nintendo character possible as a spirit in base...

The DLC was likely decided later
