Tons of Robin's attack animations, as well as his general movement, rely on him being a sort of clumsy and unrefined swordsman, as shown by things like his dash attack, tilts, back air, and down smash, to name a few. Celica's swordstyle is a more graceful and elegant rapier-like style. Add to that that Celica's almost always a magic user over a sword user (except in Warriors due to time constraints that wouldn't be present in Smash), and that Robin only uses magic in his jabs and specials, and it honestly just isn't representative of Celica in the slightest.

I'm not sure if I fully agree with your opinion, re-playing the 3DS games are on my backburner, but I can see what you're getting at.

Echoes I think are a confusing mess to pin down a specific vision of compared to regular characters. There has to be a base character to go from but they can have/not have new moves, can have new animations/re-use animations, can play differently but have different fighter classifications.

All I know for sure is that Alph/Rock Pikmin was robbed.

Bowser's Inside Story remake is really good. It may have been a pointless remake, but at the very least they did put quite a bit of effort into it.

I really hope the abysmal sales don't impact Nintendo's views of the franchise too negatively, though. I would really like to see M&L on the Switch someday, yet I am worried that Nintendo will take the low sales of BiSDX the wrong way and trash the series.

Come to think of it, why is the Inkbrush Inkling's F-Smash, let alone the strongest of all three of her Smashes. In both Splatoon games, it's one of the worst weapons, and just one swing alone is pretty weak. On top of that, both the Blaster and the Slosher are far more powerful (though the Blaster is supposed to be much slower than the Inkbrush, and have far more range than it does in Smash. The Slosher's range is more than the Inkbrush, so at least that's accurate).

Because balance reasons. If every move has to carry all of their properties from their origin games, Bayonetta could activate Witch Time with all of her dodges and I'm sure nobody would want that.

I’m conflicted, I’m not really a fan of making new fighters that just are there to bring back old movesets (aka Black Shadow for Ganondorf’s old moves), yet I want some echoes to take advantage of the custom moves from the last game (Ms. Pac-Man using Lazy Fruit). I dunno what I should say.

Ultimate Luigi makes me sad because apart from the Down-B nerf, he's probably the best he's ever been. All he's really missing is good recovery options and his old Down-B. I'm kind of thinking about playing Doctor Mario instead because it seems like he and Luigi exchanged Down-Bs for some reason.

That's part of the reason why I'd like a Dry Bowser echo. He could have Melee/Brawl Bowser's moveset w/ a few tweeks to it.

Brilliant. Both are significant characters in their series--though, I didn't expect Heroes Anna here. I would think something more like Awakening Trickster Anna being a Robin echo with permanent Levin sword and throwing a coin at high velocities instead of using the fire tome.
And if Anna can't get her own alt in Heroes, no way she's gonna get an alt in Smash!! IS, please, I BEG YOU

Main reason why I went for FEH Anna is b/c of relevancy. Especially if they go w/ Edelgard as a possible DLC character, they could also promote Heroes as well.

One day we'll get that Anna banner... one day.

Does anyone know anything about Poker Tournaments? I've been trying to work on designing a Poker Night 2 followup game. The way I wanted to do it was have it be a full fledged tournament, with multiple tables full of different characters that you progress through in a campaign mode (of course with the ability to mix and match characters in a free-play mode). But I can't find any standard on how many players a poker tournament typically has. Does anyone here know anything that can help me out?

Oh, so Smash 4?
Yeah, that does make sense, but given it's properties, the Inkbrush would be better suited for a rapid jab over an F-Smash. Then again, I guess there wouldn't be a weapon that would suit the F-Smash aside from the brushes.

Also, I don't think anyone would be OK with a canonically accurate Blaster.

I'm really concerned for the Mario RPGs, TBH. Paper Mario has been ruined by a developer that doesn't know what to do with it and consistently ignores any and all criticism, and Mario & Luigi have been having a sales decline because the 3DS userbase moved on years ago.

Only time will tell, but I'm very scared for the Mario RPGs ATM.

If I'm gonna be honest, I think it's best for Nintendo to leave the Mario & Luigi RPG series aside for other subsidiary series, like Paper Mario. The OG trilogy (SS, PIT, BIS) has held such a high standard, the games proceeding after those three haven't really reached the same quality as those three. As much as I liked Dream Team, BIS and SS was godlike.

And Nintendo can't really blame anyone other than themselves for releasing a remake that I don't think anyone was asking for during the end of the 3DS' life. I think if anything, going back to series like Paper Mario and making a game in line with quality in line of the OG trilogy would be for the best. No Color Splash or Sticker Star mechanics, just going back to the basics.

Or, they can go absolutely insane and make a sequel to Mario + Rabbids.

I mean like tbh Octoling is a generic enemy in Splatoon 1 and a basically a skin in Splatoon 2

It would be pretty cool to have a unique fighter representing the Splatoon 2 side of things and I would be down for it though

I'd rather they exist in tandem, honestly. M&L offers things Paper Mario doesn't and vice versa. Seeing as how they have two seperate teams, I think it's more than reasonable to have them co-exist. I personally never agreed with Nintendo's logic that "There can only be one Mario RPG".

Also, gonna have to disagree about M&L peaking with the OG trilogy; Dream Team is honestly my favorite of the bunch. It took everything great about the Bros. segments in BiS and only made them better. The only thing negative I can say about the game is that the gyro controls in the giant Luigi battles were pretty bad. Paper Jam I can't comment on, as I haven't played it yet.

The Brella could be An F-Smash, releasing a powerfull blast of ink in a short range and keeping a shield while charging. So that would be sorta inverse of what it does in Sploon but hey.

Bloblobber and Curling Bomb could work exactly like they do in Sploon. Bloblobber has bouncing bubbles that decrease with distance and Curling Bomb goes further if you charge it.

I've missed the last few splatfests.

I unfortunately only play Splatoon about once a month for Splatfest because of my huge backlog always keeping me from playing it, lol. I think I'm gonna change that soon, though, as I really want to start getting into Splatoon and it's meta more.

...If I'm being honest, I don't know if I'm gonna play Smash Ultimate online all that much. I was really excited to try and get into Smash online with Ultimate during pre-release, but after the game came out and I tried giving the online a shot multiple times...Oof. I just can't get into it. I really, really hate the way Ultimate's online is set up. Quickplay is annoying with the lack of proper competitive and casual matchmaking and Arenas are just kind of janky. Outside of playing with others on the forum here once and awhile and playing with some people I know locally, I'm probably gonna stick to keeping Smash a mostly singleplayer experience for myself like, I've done since the beginning. It's online just frustrates me. I really want to give Ultimate's online a chance, but I honestly don't know if I'll stick with it with the issues it has.

Splatoon I'm more willing to give my time because (for Nintendo online, at least) the service it offers is pretty decent. I can choose exactly how I want to play the game, whether it be competitive or casual. Heck, even Mario Kart and Mario Tennis of all things let you choose how you want to play them. It really does baffle me that Smash's online turned out the way it did.
