If I'm gonna be honest, I think it's best for Nintendo to leave the Mario & Luigi RPG series aside for other subsidiary series, like Paper Mario. The OG trilogy (SS, PIT, BIS) has held such a high standard, the games proceeding after those three haven't really reached the same quality as those three. As much as I liked Dream Team, BIS and SS was godlike.

And Nintendo can't really blame anyone other than themselves for releasing a remake that I don't think anyone was asking for during the end of the 3DS' life. I think if anything, going back to series like Paper Mario and making a game in line with quality in line of the OG trilogy would be for the best. No Color Splash or Sticker Star mechanics, just going back to the basics.

Or, they can go absolutely insane and make a sequel to Mario + Rabbids.

As far as I’m aware, AlphaDream only develops M&L, at least as their only “serious” project. Having a developer not do anything with their series (the series of which is fine, not everything has to be 10/10 masterpieces) and pressuring the Paper Mario developers to abandon the direction they’ve been trying to take PM to try to live up to the standards fans have set is a lot for Nintendo. Honestly, M&L’s biggest screw up was BIS remake, it just wasn’t necessary when the original didn’t have much to fix and could already be played on the 3DS. The series is fine, I think people should appreciate that it’s still a Mario RPG series instead of killing it for the chance of getting proper Paper Mario back.

I wonder what Characters are gonna be Mii Costumes this time around. I would say Geno, Sora, Banjo, Waluigi, Heihachi, Phoenix Wright/Leon Kennedy and some Persona Mii Costumes.


Geno and Banjo: Admittedly I have given up on my most wanted characters so I'm just here for the ride I really do expect Geno to be a Mii Costume though I would love for him to be an actual Character. Same with Banjo I would love for him to be playable but he's probably going to be a Mii Costume when Steve gets in.

Sora: Cause Erdrick's likely the Square Rep and I have a feeling they're gonna turn Geno and Sora into Mii Costumes Most likely when he gets in.

Waluigi: Just to allow people to make a Waluigi Mii to use cause of the backlash and cause people wanted him in they'll do that at least.

Heihachi: I think Lloyd will be the Namco Rep if we get one and so Heihachi would probably be a Mii Costume when that happens.

Phoenix Wright/Leon Kennedy: If we get another Capcom rep I think it'll be either Phoenix Wright or a RE rep so one gets in and the other is a Mii Costume.

Persona Mii Costumes: It kind of makes sense for Persona Costumes to be a thing since we already have Joker in the game it's more of a wait and see thing in my opinion.

That would certainly start a flame war and some people would certainly freak out but I sort of expect it to happen Square loves money and if they see that people want Geno they'll resell the Mii Costume for a quick buck.

Yeah, Nintendo views the M&L series as the main RPG series, I believe it’s Miyamoto specifically that tries to “reinvent” the PM series. It’s a shame, honestly they can stand on their own and don’t need to gimp each other, but to bring PM back gutting M&L (which a lot of people turn to) isn’t the solution IMO.

I'm fine as long as we have Mario RPGs. I may miss Paper Mario, but M&L is still great so I'm okay if that's where Nintendo wants to go with that part of Mario.

I know it's hard to do that when you feel like you are just setting yourself up for disappointment, but It's better than just being constantly hopeless and miserable.

I mean what's the point in having hope for my boy? He died months back and there is nothing else I can say or think that might raise his perceived chances there's literally nothing else for my boy except for being a Mii Costume. Square doesn't care about the Character and NoJ likely doesn't either the only person up there who cares is Sakurai and he's not choosing the characters for DLC.

I can see where you're coming from but Square doesn't like the throw in things for free if they see an opportunity for money they'll take it. Reselling the Geno Mii Costume is an easy one and done Cash Grab that they'd totally take and with them not doing so well recently they'd likely have more reason to do it now than ever before.

The Problem I see isn't that he would be a Mii Costume but simply porting it over and reselling it is kind of a jerk move sort of anti consumer. Not the fact that Geno is a Mii costume but that you'd have to pay for something you already bought last game without any changes or additional stuff that comes alongside it.

I don't like that and I think it's anti consumer.
