Here's how you fix Little Mac's Side B.

Turn it into the Gazelle Punch.
In real life, it's a 2 part move that ducks underneath the opponent's guard and then launches off the ground with an upwards facing hook/uppercut.

Now for Smash, inputting side+B would make Little Mac duck down and dash forward, even in the air. During the dash, Little Mac is invincible for a short while.
An additional B input makes him do the hook part of the move, dealing high damage and knockback if hitting while also giving Little Mac vertical distance for additional recovery.

ALSO MAKE LITTLE MAC'S NEUTRAL B THE DEMPSEY ROLL.

Project M was good at giving a specific demographic what they want: Competitive Western players who have nostalgia for old games.

Sakurai and his team actually have to juggle between different fanbases and age groups, which makes it impossible for them to reach the fanservice levels Project M has.

And you know, they actually have to make a real game, not mod a pre-existing one.

Exactly, which is everything I've already implied.

For all of the above reasons, developers can't ever go 1:1 with fans' expectations or wants while a dedicated fan following with unlimited amount of free labor, time, and dedication can do basically whatever the hell want using the foundations of another game.

They're totally different movesets, not just hair colors. One is a charming, old school, military-killing-zombies style, the other is a ****ing superspeed ninja who hisses at you.

Though as a serious point I'd imagined Smash adding Jill would have a P1/P2 setup like Bayonetta/Cloud/etc. P1 would be REmake Jill, and P2 would be Revelations Jill, which could also be recolored to match her RE5 Battlesuit variety.

I pre-ordered Umbrella Corps, since Operation Raccoon City is a huge guilty pleasure of mine (and also the first Resident Evil game I ever played, any RE fan would be disgusted to know). It wasn't bad... save for the fact that somehow they screwed up the mouse aiming on the PC version and it took them a week or two to patch it. But I was too timid to play multiplayer when it first came out (I get intimidated by super competitive games), and I'm pretty sure its playerbase died quicker than the cops in the beginning of RE4, so I never did get to try it.

The last several times in the past couple years I've tried to go back to it, the game just won't boot up properly. So even if I could go back and enjoy the barebones single player, the game won't let me.

Fair enough, there’s no harm in returning to her classic moveset and personality, though would her RE5 look work as a costume in that case? I’m a bit more into classic her but I wanna ask since I’m not really too invested in the RE series

I guess I bought RE5 the most unless you count RE1 and the remake of RE1 as the same game. RE4's never been my favorite of the series. I'm the oddity there.

The unthinkable just happened. I went onto quickplay and I...I had fun.

I really think it is partially a mentality thing. By warming up with Smashboards friends and acquaintances first, I got to play in an environment where it was more difficult to get salty over my losses. Then when I went to quickplay a couple hours afterwards, it was easier for me to deal with one without having to worrying about my GSP dropping. Or at least I think that might be I'm in a good mood. I also won most matches I had on quickplay today which totally helps.

Operation Raccoon City is a hidden gem. It's not the best game in the world, but I do very much like it for what it is and I've been exactly one achievement away from completing it for years. It's got lots of fan service and I love the character designs. I also like the unconventional movement and third faction mechanics with viruses and the scent of blood to attract and manipulate zombies.

It wasn't the best game ever made but it was criminally underappreciated. Killer soundtrack too.

Absolutely.

Jill in Revelations-- still just a normal *** woman with combat training and guns-- wore a similar full body suit.

You can apply the brain-controlled RE5 costume without the supernatural acrobatics, but it's kind of weird to apply the supernatural acrobatics to her STARS look. It would be like giving oldschool Mega Man the powers of Mega Man .EXE.
