Fairy type has close connections to the moon. In Japan Rabbits and the moon are a cultural thing. Hell, in Mario Odyssey the Broodals came from the moon.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Fairy and Dragon, like, the two most OP/rare types in the game? Because I don't see how they'd give one of the starters one of those types and hurt the other two by comparison.
