Because fanservice (I'm fairly sure males have similar options)

From a pure gameplay standpoint, Armour really doesn't matter in Soul Calibur. You can create a character wearing nothing but a loincloth (male or female) and see no consequences at all.

They were revealed at the same time, have a joint logo, and were widely considered the same game by fans...

Smash 4 is a great game that becomes completely unplayable after playing Ultimate
it's like going back to having training wheels after learning to ride a two-wheeler

Probably accurate. There's Jump Force too thats been released, but I don't think its the type of game you'd see at EVO. On a slightly unrelated note, Mandalay Bay is a pretty nice Hotel & Casino; good choice on their part.

Jump Force has zero chance of being a main game at EVO lol. MvC Infinite has a better shot

I did note that lol. And MvC infinite's dead. It was pretty much dead on arrival; I don't think it's got a chance at all lol.

Graphically, it looked terrible and Marvel wouldn't let them use any of the characters Fox had the rights to, or anyone else that wasn't in an upcoming movie.

It was dead during production.
