Things you want in Smash:

1 Change
2 Stages
3 Musics
4 Characters

1 - Stages online. Have it so we can choose prefered stages, more than just Battlefield or Final Destination. I ****in' love Pokémon's stages, Smashville, Frigate Orpheon, Arena Ferox, Port Town Aero Drive, Halberd, etc.. They're great platform stages which aren't the repetitive shape of Battlefield, and I'd love for my chance to land on stages like them, or even Brinstar Depths (heaps of fun), Corneria or Kongo Jungle, to be a lot higher than my chance to land on something like Dream Land GB or Summit.
2 - Bowser's Castle could be great, and I want Rainbow Road to return, especially seeing as it would look beautiful now! If I were to choose one of these two, I'd say Rainbow Road, because we're getting five brand new stages with the DLC, probably.
Another Street Fighter stage would be awesome. Balrog's stage would be great! Sonic hasn't added their own casino stage.
3 - One Winged Angel. - Awesome music for an awesome stage.
Greenhorn Forest - Iconic Wario music!
I Am... All of Me. Such a bad-ass song only being heard in Spirits is such a letdown! Fights with this would be exhilarating!
4 - I might as well be a bit unrealistic, seeing as I was realistic for the first three.
Travis Touchdown - He'd be main potential, simply because of how cool, flashy and fun I'd imagine his moveset would be. More adult characters would be great, and he'd fit alongside Bayonetta perfectly! As long as they keep his recharging the way it is in his game.
Shantae - She's a Spirit but as I said, I'm being unrealistic here. Shantae should definitely be the first Indie rep in Smash! Her animations would be so much fun and I'm sure her moveset would be great.
Porky - I've always wanted Ninten, since I was in primary school, so the three games could all have their own representative. The idea of every Mother protagonist being in Smash is nice, and I can see Ninten working like a more up close Ness, with a recovery potentially like Fox's. But I don't see it happening. With Porky, I actually think he's quite likely. Release him with the Earthbound Trilogy Collection on Switch, Nintendo!
Doom Slayer - A couple of my friends and I have discussed moveset potential for him a fair bit, and even though I'm not as big a DOOM fan as they are, especially one of them, I like the original DOOM (yet to play the new games, but I want to), and I think the series is definitely important enough to deserve representation in Smash. What better way to release DOOM Eternal on the Switch, than releasing it alongside Doom Slayer DLC?
I do want Geno and Banjo-Kazooie in Smash, but I think having them show up in the base roster of the next game would feel so much more special. It would be beautiful to see the bear and bird back with Nintendo, and what better way to celebrate such a reunion than a placement in the Smash roster? And for Geno, his character is awesome, but the fact that the "Never Ever Trio" of Ridley, King K. Rool and Geno would be complete, would be so satisfying. Crash would be good for nostalgia's sake, and it would mean Mario, Sonic and Crash could all fight each other. For Ultimate, though, Travis Touchdown, Shantae, Porky and Doom Slayer are my ideal picks.

Maybe as DLC. The reason why people are worried is that the roster is 25 slots as of now and at least 23 out of those 25 slots have been confirmed. There's also Reptile who's absent so far even though he didn't die. And he's only missed three mainline MK games. MK3 because there were no masked ninjas(not even Scorpion), MK Deception because he was the host for Onaga. And MK vs DC because good luck making a non gory fatality for Reptile.

That's actually what goes against him. You see, in context the art director is talking about assists which were indeed shown in the initial reveal gameplay. Reptile's forceball being there. That itself doesn't go against him, as skarlet. What does go against him though is that one of the ladders in the demo was "klassic character themed" with Rain, Reptile, Shinnok, and Cyrax. All of the icons had their MKX look. With that being said, Rain is also seen on the menu with a new looking design. Also months before the game was officially announced the game itself was leaked because a spanish voice actor complained he got replaced for the roles of Kung Lao and Reptile.

Same. He's always been my main and he's also the definitive third ninja in MK. Though what shocks me even more is that so far there's no male ninjas at all aside from Scorp and Sub. Aside from MK3(which was updated to UMK3 as you said.) and MK vs DC, there's usually at least Reptile too. And Deception had Ermac and Noob-Smoke.

I just.... don't like Mortal Kombat much.

I know the gore is over the top and I like horror so this might seem like a strange complaint, but its too much for me.

That on top of gameplay I don't like makes it a hard pass for me.

It looks like they tried too hard to adhere to the animations in the original Mortal Kombat games. Everyone has that same jumping kick, and the same sweep, the same uppercut, and the same exaggerated falling animation. It would have benefitted from being more stylized.
