I'm watching Vinesauce stream the original Metroid game with some enhancement mods(map, updated sprites) and....


Is it just me, or is this one of the most boring games ever? I ****ing love Super Metroid, but the OG Metroid feels really, REALLY repetitive of "Pit > Door > Hallway, repeat".


This game hasn't aged well at all imo

Well today has just been a roller coaster for me. With everything going on in my life right now I almost forgot that there was a Nintendo Direct today.

So anyway, my super late impressions of the direct.

- Wow that Pokemon Trainer amiibo looks better then his in game model.
- Three Houses looks promising enough. Not really sold on the story yet but I love how they're handling class customization. The Awakening/Fates re class system was clunky and made zero sense story wise. No signs of S-supports or children characters yet, but they could still happen so I'm not getting too excited.
- Link's Awakening was a pretty disappointing note to end on. When a 2D Zelda was leaked, I was excited for a new game but instead it's just a remake. If they were going to rehash and old game they should have at least pulled an ALBW and did something familiar but still new.

The original Metroid is quite notorious nowadays for just how outdated it is. The only reason to go back to it is to see how the series started. As a serious experience, go play Zero Mission. Heck it even comes with the original game.
