That goes against sakurai’s philosophy on DLC. From interview, we know he prefers to focus on developing the game and, once it launches, begin preparing for DLC. I love Injustice 2 but I don’t mind the way Smash DLC is.

I imagine we will be getting some sort of Smash video presentation, either as a direct or not this april showing Joker and probably the next DLC teaser. Seems like we are getting new modes or somethin somethin.

He needs to get over it then. I'm not saying he needs to have everything ready at launch, but he needs to at least thow us a bone so we're not seizing on to half baked leaks and rumors. Silhouettes, official character code-names, puzzles, SOMETHING. Just not nothing!

I'll stop listening to his Smash claims when he starts getting them wrong.

Investing into his other claims has always been a gambit. Like he's always had a pretty spotty track record outside of Smash. Never buy into that stuff, just keep an eye on it from a distance.

IIRC, that originated from King Zell, and not only did Zell get the Direct date correct, but also a bunch of the games shown today.

In the context of Inkling and Isabelle's announcements, which came paired with big news about their home series, there being a blowout of Dragon Quest announcements and no Smash announcement is a little telling.

It's definitely possible that Erdrick or whoever the hell might be announced later this year appropros of nothing, but the timing today was very appropriate.

I'm leaning more towards this being Isaac 2.0 where there's several bits of tiny but insubstantial evidence that the character will be announced, and over time that turns into everyone assuming that they're totally confirmed, until everything is said and done and there's nothing.

i mean you do know we're probably getting more DQ news in the future right? and isaac is a terrible example lol. his fans basically worked themselves to a frenzy based on one tweet. at least erdrick has some ingame evidence pointing to him plus credible insiders backing him.

Zell might still be right about Pikmin 3. Emily also said we were set to get a 2013 remake this year. And Zell was right about the Direct and Zelda.

What Zell was wrong about was getting the Prime trilogy in this Direct.

But as always is the case with noted leakers, listen to what they have to say - don't reject it, and don't blindly accept it. People make it more black and white than need be.

New modes? Like what exactly? Besides something like Homerun Contest, or Stage Builder, what could they realistically add?


A better online? Okay that'd be nice but, is it something to keep in the dark?




Like, I'm all for Smash going down the Star Allies route where each update adds to the base game substantially, but 2.0 was balance changes and a Plant, you're going to have a hard time convincing me that 3.0's gonna be any different.
