How do you hype video game fans? Great visuals, epic action and settings, a deep story, a vast and dense open world...

... or you may just show them slopes.

Anyway, I'm super hyped for Super Mario Maker 2. One of my most anticipted games, but I expected it to be released next year considering the original SMM was released as part of Super Mario Bros.'s 30th anniversary. Glad it's comming sooner than later.

I'm hyped to Link's Awakening too. I occasionally had the opportunity to play the original on Game Boy and it was fun, nnow I'll be able to experience it more consistently and with modern graphics.

These two games make the Direct worthwile to me. I didn't have huge expectations and I'm satisfied with what we got. I'm rather expecting big announcements for this year's E3.

I feel much more negative on the direct than everyone else, but I could've honestly turned it off after Ultimate Alliance 3 and not feel like I missed anything. Really disappointing line-up apart from MUA3 and SMM2.

That MUA3 trailer should have had more focus on Storm and Venom. Or a **** ton of Spider-Man and Wolverine gameplay.

That new Cop Platinum game looks fun. But those robots are too cool. Way better than the actual player characters.

No Prime ports is a bit of a bummer but I expected it.

Mario Maker 2 was bound to happen, and it looks like they added more cool stuff.

Don't know how I feel about Link's Awakening, because that hand-drawn trailer looks really good, but the game models ain't my cup of tea. I get what they were doing with it though, trying to make it look like an HD GB game.

Fire Emblem is just Hogwarts now I guess.

For me though, I think I would like the remake’s style more if it wasn’t for the lighting. It feels too bright, I dunno.

What I really wamt in Super Mario Maker 2 is more characters that aren't Mario. Like, evrything else is perfect in what they added.

It does seem as if Luigi is playable, but I would love the whole Bros. 2 Cast + Toadette and (maybe) Nabbit to be playable as well.

To be fair if Marvel didn't remind us that Captain Marvel exists every 11 seconds of the day we would all forget she exists and assume they mean Billy Batson.

Ultimate Alliance was one of my favourite games as a kid so I'm super excited for it. The announcement of Venom was the single best part of that direct for me.

I've not actually played the original mario maker (didn't own Wii U, felt the 3DS version looked hamstrung) so am excited for the second. I'll probably end up mostly playing other peoples levels though.

You know, I know I'm in the minority here, but I wish Link's Awakening was on 3DS.

I don't trust myself taking my Switch on the go. It's too big and too thin and too expensive. I don't want to carry it in a proprietary case that makes it all the bigger, and I don't want to not be able to bring a charger with me without unplugging it from behind my entertainment center. Simply put, I don't use it as a portable console. You know what I do use as a portable console? The nigh indestructible 3DS.

I feel like 3D Zeldas are games to experience in the living room, and 2D Zeldas are best in bite sized chunks on the go. Plus, on 3DS it'd only be $40, so.
