So I guess this new moveset method panned out well and got to include lots of people working on it together but do you think this might make a character a little more incohesive?

Additionally I was thinking maybe when we choose a character, we can figure out who has played games from the chcharacter's origin and might be able to have some stronger say in how the character is formed with mod discretion.
Yeah, I can see why that could be an issue. There's already a little bit of it in the throws; The pitch that brought in the Sonic robots had one for each grab, but now it's just a couple Sonic robots coming out of nowhere for some reason.

I'd also like to say that personally, I feel a Puyo Puyo - I'm sorry, Mean Bean move seems a bit odd, seeing as that's an entirely different franchise being dragged in there. I mean, yeah, they referenced it in Mania, but it still seems a bit random.

after thinking it over, I think Skull Kid could work as a relatively fast villain. He's not The Flash or anything, but he's small and average speed.
Yeah, that could fit. My aim is less "Fast" and more "Not slow," if that makes sense. It just feels like we've been having a lot of big, slow, hard-hitting attacks in general; The villains just emphasize it even more since most of them fill that niche, especially since we just got two big mech boss fighters in close proximity.

I personal refrained from submitting anything because I have no real knowledge about the Sonic franchise so I knew I'd just add on something that wouldn't mesh well. I mean it could end up sorta discriminatory against people that wanna participate but only play Mario, Pokemon, FFXIV and nothing else.

My suggestion for the moveset submission is to take it in stages

The first stage would be Submitting the stats and gimmick and then vote on the submissions

then submit the Tilts and then vote on each attack

and then the Smash attacks

so on and so forth

That would organize it better and to let more thought go into each move

The biggest downside would be how long it would take

Sonic Mii Costume

Amy Rose (Brawler)

Amy Rose | Sonic News Network | Fandom

One of the most popular characters of the Sonic Franchise and it's most iconic female character, Amy Rose has been a mainstay of the series for decades as its Princess Peach/Minnie Mouse. She would be a Mii Brawler.

Sega Mii Costume

Aiai (Brawler)

AiAi | Super Monkey Ball Wiki | Fandom

Super Monkey Ball was recently announced at E3 and I thought it was appropriate to want to capitalize on that. Super Monkey Ball is one of Sega's most beloved franchises so I thought it would be appropriate to give it some represenation. Aiai would be a Mii Brawler, with the costume including the signature orange shirt with an A.

We also have the Sonic stage winner to announce!

Forms response chart. Question title: Please vote for a Sonic the Hedgehog stage for Dr. Eggman to use as a home stage. Voting for a character in the 3 column will grant it 3 points, 2 2 points, and so on. You may vote for your own submission. Please make a selection in all three columns.. Number of responses: .

I know that's a little complicated but here is a general breakdown of the votes.

Stage3 points2 points1 pointTotal
Casino Night Zone Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario 3 (9)1 (2)2 (2)13
Studiopolis Zone Paraster Paraster 3 (9)2 (4)2 (2)15
Space Colony ARK cashregister9 cashregister9 4 (12)01 (1)13
Death Egg Zone GolisoPower GolisoPower 04 (8)4 (4)12
Chemical Plant Zone Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom 2 (6)5 (10)1 (1)17
Sky Sanctuary Janx_uwu Janx_uwu 002 (2)2

Please feel free to check my math as I did this at 11;30 pm after a 9 hour shift so I am pretty tired. Based on the above...

Our new Sonic stage and one that will represent Dr. Eggman is Chemical Plant Zone! This stage will be a grand depature from the colorful and sunny locations like Green Hill Zone and Windy Hill Zone.

Alternate Costume #6 (maybe): Wario, Snake, and Ike

We will have a detour from doing Dr. Eggman and Sonic alt costumes and focus on our next three characters: Wario, Snake, and Ike. Alternate costumes tends to be a hit or miss in terms of content as, at times, we get everything we need filled while, others, we don't. As you may remember, we are adding four additional alts for every character.

Here are the requirements when submitting an alternate costume:
  • Image
  • Reference (a character name for example)
  • Color
  • Reason for inclusion
Now, for everyone's least favorite part, I will be imposing a few rules for these alternate costumes

Wario and Ike will not be receiving new alternate costumes given they have two available ones already. We will only be accepting two colors for Classic Wario and two colors for WarioWare Wario. Similarly, we will be accepting two colors for PoR Ike and two colors for RD Ike.

Snake can have a single alternate costume that changes his appearance but it can't change his overall character. We will be reserving the fourth and final Snake alt as a color variant of an alternate costume (aka Sephiroth and Joker). Depending on how many and which alternate costumes that are submitted, we may initiate a vote but we are unsure at this time.

Alt Costume 6: WarioWare Wario (Traditional Biker Gear)

530-90_574dd976263ab.jpg

For my submission, I thought about giving his biker gear a simple black leather biker look as the image pictured but with GREY PANTS instead of white like the image shown. It was merely the best reference image I could find.

There's no game inspiration behind it but I think given how his biker colours look colourful, he could use some darker colouring that gives him the look of a traditional ruggee biker.

Classic Wario:
1626321242863.png

Shake King (Alt Color):
The main antagonist of Wario Land: Shake It!, the Shake King is a pirate captain who possesses the Bottomless Coin Sack, a bag that generates more coins the more you shake. In the classic outfit's colors for Wario, he gains black overalls, a red shirt, and red shoes, and for the first time, his moustache becomes blonde, too!

Snake:
1626321442650.png

Metal Gear Solid 4 (Alt Costume):
This is still the Snake you know and love, only older. But this old soldier gets better with age. In this alternate costume for Snake, he dons the OctoCamo suit in contrast to the usual sneaking suit based on his MGS1/2 days. He also gains more visible wrinkles and ashen gray hair.

For Radiant Dawn Ike:

Ike would get white colors based on Reyson. His attire would be almost completely white to distinguish him from the already existing Sigurd alternate. This would be for his Radiant Dawn alternate costume.

Bandana: Yellow
Cape: White with yellow highlights
Boots: Lightish green to match Reyson's
Ike's weird armor thing: Same color as boots

Ike
Micaiah (Raidant Dawn) [Color: Maroon]

For his Radiant Dawn Outfit His shirt becomes Maroon, and it gains the design seen on the bottom of Micaiah's tunic, His pants become black and his boots become light brown and his Headband becomes Dark blue, The armor pieces also become Black

Micaiah is one of the protagonists in Radiant Dawn

Wario

VB Wario [Color: Black]

Wario becomes Cell Shaded, The light colors on his body become Red and the darker colors become Black.

This is a reference to the color palette of the Virtual Boy

Path of Radiance Ike (Perferably Radiant Dawn for.. specific reason but already got taken)

Ranulf (Orange)

Ike gets a color palette based on Ranulf with him having a more distinct color choice and simple outfit that match quiet well with his younger iteration. His headband and cape is colored orange, his shirt now is more brown with orange outline with his pants colored light blue and his gloves and boots having a green tint.

Not a couple Sonic robots, it's just Metal Sonic now. We felt it might be a bit jarring to include all the different robots so we changed the Down-Throw to only feature Metal Sonic as well (just like the Up-Throw), with Janx's permission. The other robots are also very obscure compared to Metal Sonic which was another factor that influenced this decision.

We felt like changing all grabs to Metal Sonic was a bit unfair, as the other proposals felt specific as well. Though within the Leadership, there was talks of making the grab itself and pummel be initiated by Metal Sonic too, and if the thread is fine with it we could change them to that. Or if you guys rather want all grabs be Metal Sonic related, that's good too.

We really strived for Eggman to be a summoner-type character, from the puyo puy- I mean Mean Beans, to the Badniks, to Metal Sonic being included in some throws. We just did what we could with the moves that have been submitted.

I think the grab and pummel also being Metal Sonic is gonna make it come together. It's a little weird otherwise.

Smash Dungeon Pokémon enemies
Like in Smash 4’s Smash Run, our Smash Dungeon will also have Pokémon present. Mirroring Smash Run, these Pokémon will be exclusive to Smash Dungeon, and will not be summonable from Pokéballs. Pokémon from any generation can be submitted, although Pokémon that have appeared as Pokéballs already are ineligible. Additionally due to the nature of Smash Dungeon containing generic enemies, legendary Pokémon will not be eligible for submission here. Simply provide an image and name of the Pokémon, a description of their attacks and statistics, and why you think they should be included for your submission. We will be voting for this job.

To reiterate, we will not be accepting legendary Pokémon for non mini-boss enemies.

For your convenience, here is a list of currently added Smash Dungeon Pokémon enemies, as well as a list of Pokéball Pokémon in Infinite.

Pokéball Pokémon:
Abomasnow, Abra, Aipom, Alolan Exeggutor, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Vulpix, Appletun, Arceus, Bellossom, Bewear, Chespin, Cinderace, Darkrai, Dedenne, Deoxys, Ditto, Dracovish, Dragapult, Eevee, Eiscue, Electrode, Entei, Eternatus, Fennekin, Fletchling, Frosmoth, Galarian Meowth, Galarian Stunfisk, Gardevoir, Genesect, Gengar, Giratine, Gogoat, Goldeen, Hitmontop, Inkay, Inteleon, Kecleon, Keldeo, Kyogre, Kyurem, Latias, Latios, Lugia, Lunala, Marshadow, Meloetta, Meowstic, Meowth, Metagross, Metapod, Mew, Mimikyu, Moltres, Oshawott, Palkia, Pyukumuku, Rillaboom, Scizor, Sirfetch'd, Snivy, Snom, Snorlax, Solgaleo, Spewpa, Staryu, Suicune, Swirlix, Tapu Koko, Togedemaru, Togepi, Ultra Necrozma, Umbreon, Victini, Vulpix, Wigglytuff, Wooloo, Xerneas, Zoroark

Trubbish
85 Hp
Weak to Earth Based Moves

With most pokemon being minibosses, I belive having a standard enemy would be a nice change of pace, while Trubbish isnt the most well liked pokemon to some I think it would fit the scrapyard area in smash dungeons and bring some much needed poisonous enemies in the game.

Trubbish dont usually focus on the player, often keeping to themselves and wandering the area they are in, they tend to follow other monsters (mainly monsters associated with having a strong odor or not being particularly good looking) ofter supporting them. If hit they run away from the attacker in question and naturally run away from Cuccos.

Trubbish has two moves it can use, periodically it will realese a puddle of Sludge, a poison type move, they dont specifically target a player and just spew it when they feel like it, Sludge puddles not only slow the player down but also poisons them for 5 seconds, the Sludge Ball have short to medium range (its random range), and if you get directly hit by the projectile you take 10 damage and get poisoned.

When nearby food Trubbish will eat it and gain the ability to launch a Belch, a poison type move that makes it realse a cloud of noxious gas that slowly homes in on you, when contacted you go to sleep and get poisoned due to the pungent odor, Trubbish will use Belch everytime it eats something so if you have a large amount of food nearby you must eat it quickly.

Trubbish when defeated have the chance to drop Banana Peels, Rambling Evil Mushrooms, or Spicy Curry.

Grimmsnarl:
The Bulk Up Pokemon
"With the hair wrapped around its body helping to enhance its muscles, this Pokemon can overwhelm even Machamp."

Grimmsnarl is a Fairy/Dark-type Pokemon from the Galar region, and the final Evo of Impidimp. This dude is fairly sizeable, has low movement speed, and loads of health and defense. Grimmsnarl will use the following abilities:
  • Dark Pulse: Grimmsnarl unleashes a full wave of darkness surrounding itself and dealing 12% damage and medium knockback to all players nearby.
  • Hammer Arm: Grimmsnarl winds up its arm and flies an overhead fist smash into the top of the opponent's head. This deals 10% damage and spikes.
  • Spirit Break: Grimmsnarl manipulates its hair armor to grapple onto the closest player. Once it does, it charges the player with immense Fairy-type energy, dealing 16% damage, crumpling, and causing a debuff to their Special attack strength.
  • False Surrender: At 25% of its health, Grimmsnarl pretends to die and even looks like he's about to disappear, as well. Just as the player gets close enough to it, he will stab the opponent with spikes of hair, dealing 18% damage and very high knockback. This can be bypassed by firing a projectile at it.

Perrserker

Perrserker is an evolution of Galarian Meowth and is a pretty unique pokemon.

In Smash Dungeon Perrserker would walk around relatively slowly with it's claw blades out, It has a good amount of health and defense, if you get close it will slash the player dealing a good amount of damage, After you get hit once Perrserker would start to follow you, once you get it to half Health it enters "Berserk Mode" which it's eyes become red, it becomes faster, it attacks faster and it deals more damage.

Calyrex:
The cover Pokemon for the Crown Tundra DLC, Calyrex is a Grass/Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon who has the ability to mount one of two Legendary Pokemon: Glastrier and Spectrier. When he spawns in the Smash Dungeon, he will be mounted atop either Glastrier or Spectrier.

Ice Rider Calyrex: If mounted atop Glastrier, he has more health and is heavier, and gains the following abilities:
  • Iron Defense: Calyrex will temporarily coat itself in metal, making it more resilient to incoming attacks.
  • Giga Drain: Calyrex releases a green pulse in front of himself that deals 15% damage to a player, some medium-low knockback, and healing himself for half the damage dealt.
  • Psychic: Calyrex unleashes an aurora-like burst from the bud-crown on his head, locking onto the player with them before they strike. This deals 10% damage and medium knockback.
  • Glacial Lance: Calyrex forms a giant jousting lance made of ice and throws it at the players, dealing 20% damage and freezing.
  • Chilling Neigh: If one player is killed during this battle by Calyrex, Glastrier will let out a loud neigh that permanently buffs his attacks.
  • Unnerve: Calyrex will give a hardy glare at a targeted player, preventing them from using any items for a short time.

Shadow Rider Calyrex: If mounted atop Spectrier, he has more speed and attack power, and gains the following abilities:
  • Psychic: Calyrex unleashes an aurora-like burst from the bud-crown on his head, locking onto the player with them before they strike. This deals 10% damage and medium knockback.
  • Agility: Calyrex gains a blur-like haze to him, increasing his mobility.
  • Giga Drain: Calyrex releases a green pulse in front of himself that deals 15% damage to the player, some medium-low knockback, and healing himself for half the damage dealt.
  • Astral Barrage: Calyrex summons 5 small ghosts surrounding Spectrier and launches them at the player, each exploding and dealing 7% damage, heavy knockback, and ignoring i-frames.
  • Grim Neigh: If one player is killed during this battle by Calyrex, Spectrier will let out a loud neigh that permanently buffs his attacks.
  • Unnerve: Calyrex will give a hardy glare at a targeted player, preventing them from using any items for a short time.
Defeating Calyrex will result in you taking his steed as your own. While riding Calyrex's horse, you gain the effects of either Chilling Neigh, which bolsters your basic attacks, or Grim Neigh, which bolsters your Specials, depending on which horse you've taken. Glastrier and Spectrier can also use wave attacks of their respective elements, Avalanche and Hex respectively, to fight alongside the player themselves.
Wait isnt legendaries and mythicals banned

Well, if it's the case, I'll change in a heartbeat.
For Non Mini Boss enemies, legendaries are prohibited, so that multiple legendaries aren’t on the screen at once breaking canon. although I gather that your Calyrex submission was a miniboss so it should be fine.

Wario Alt: Brawl Foreman Spike (Tan)

Alt from Brawl, exactly like this mockup although with a much less vibrant blue on the buttons. Relevancy was it was in brawl and was quite fashionable, while also being based on Foreman Spike.

Snake Alt: Fruit Camo (Orange)
1626377060983.png

Hailing from Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, The Fruit Camo has a very special connection to Nintendo. In MGS Snake Eater 3D the replaceable Kertoan collectibles are replaced with hidden Yoshi. This suit makes it so that the hidden Yoshi's make noises so they are easier to find and collect. Given the unique connection to Nintendo that this suit has, and its unique design I think it would make for an interesting alt.

It actually wasn't a mini boss. Realizing that, I replaced Calyrex with Grimmsnarl to be more compliant with the rules.

SNEASEL

Sneasel is the Sharp Claw Pokemon with the dual typing of Dark & Ice hailing from Johto, these creature is the unevolved form of Weavile and is known for being sharp and cunning.

"It blends into the dark of night to ambush its prey."
- Ultra Moon Pokedex Entry

As an enemy they are mostly hidden in dark corners of the area, when you trespass the area that they're hiding they immediately leap towards you and uses the move Fury Swipe that hits around 2 times. After they have been exposed they still won't back down and if approach them again he will attack with Fury Swipe again, this time it attacks 5 times combined with Icy Wind to slow you down to be an easy target as an homage to his youkai inspiration. You can spot them in the shadow through a shine coming from their sharp claws and you can take them out easily with them having a low health (34HP).

Smash Dungeon Pokémon: Dhelmise

1626438430411.png

Dhelmise is a Ghost/Grass type Pokémon from the Alola region and it is known to be the ghost of floating seaweed (yeah that’s sentence sounds strange).

It’s abilities include Anchor Shot, Brutal Swing, Absorb, Gyro Ball and Surf. It has 120 hp and it is very weak against fire attacks. They mainly spawn in shoreline areas, given that they are sea dwellers.

Smash Pokémon enemy: Zubat!

This dual type Poison and Flying type is infamous for plaguing players trips to any caves, tunnels, or ruins. Set foot into these dark and dank halls and an encounter with one of the denizens of the dark is guaranteed. While Leech Life or Supersonic might be appropriate, I’m going for more of a mob mentality. The Zubat appears in a “flock” of ten and will bombard the opponent. They don’t do any damage but they severely limit movement by slowing the opponent down, reducing jumping height, increasing falling speed, reducing rolling distance, and inducing the trip status. Attacking them with attacks will eventually disperse the Zubats. Trying to outrun them is an idea but they will constantly pursue you. Zubats can be seen flying in a stationary area but, once someone enters into their Supersonic range, they will make a beeline to them.
