Just to let everyone know that voting and submissions for a Final Smash will end eight hours. We will also be kicking off E3 discussion perhaps a bit early. Depends on what we can cram in

Tango: Cat. With Rush, Beat, and Treble here, might as well finish off the supporting animal robot cast.
Roll.EXE: Assuming every part of the Mega Man series would receive more representation in a sequel to Ultimate, the Battle Network series would as well, and as one of the main characters she makes sense to include.

1. Bowser Voice
2. Pac Death
3. Gigaflare

Hello, everyone! I have recently created a SmashBoards account after lurking around the site for a bit in hopes of joining in on the discussion in this thread! Might take a bit to get used to the site, but I am looking forward to helping out with certain jobs that I feel I can fit well in.

Job 124 - Ice Climbers (Avalanche Escapade)

This new final smash for the climbing duo would begin with the condor from their game and stage entrance fly in front of the duo, it would also noticeably have a random vegetable carried in its talons. Any fighters hit by the condor would then be taken into a cinematic final smash where they would land at the bottom of a snowy mountain. The condor then proceeds to fly up the mountain but would soon be followed by the Ice Climbers as they hop their way along the mountain, this would soon cause noticeable movement as an avalanche would come flowing down at the fighters at the bottom, which would result in the main damage of the attack. The cinematic would then end with the climbers catching up to the condor and retrieving their stolen vegetable, which would leave the two to celebrate.

Getting hit by the condor would cause each fighter to take 5% of damage, but the main bulk of damage for the final smash would come from the resulting avalanche which would add on an additional 50% of damage. It would be about 55% damage in total for the cinematic final smash. Wasn't too sure how to approach the damage percent, but I wanted to try and aim for a number similar to that of Yoshi's Final Smash in Ultimate.

The reason that I bring up Yoshi's Final Smash is to relate it back to the overall reason to include this new final smash. Whereas Yoshi's final smash is a nice nod to the opening for Melee, this final smash can also be another nod to the Ice Climber portion of the opening where they're climbing/jumping up together. This would also go tie in well with the main goal of their original game, to climb up mountains to retrieve their stolen food from the condor. This final smash would also play into their aspect of working together, as their teamwork is what allows this final smash to get pulled off in a way. Their could also be additional details added to add some more visual flair to cinematic, such as enemies from the original game surrounding the opponents at the bottom or the final smash taking place in the Icicle Mountain game from Melee.

I hope that I explained the concept well, and I look forward to pitching in more for this project! :4dedede:

Palutena Final Smash: Idol Transformation

Palutena fires an orb that travels forward and, if it connects to anyone, it will traps them in a cinematic Final Smash. Palutena fires another energy blast at the opponent which transforms them into a trophy-like figurine. Palutena then opens up the heavens and unleashes Meteor Storm which reigns fiery meteors onto the figurine trophy. Following this onslaught, the Final Smash finishes and the opponent is returned to their non-Idol self.

the results for character changes are still being worked on, so get your votes in soon if you haven't, but in the meantime let's start our next discussion.

E3 is Tomorrow!
So with Nintendo's E3 tomorrow, we'd like to start a new discussion period. What are your predictions? What are your wishes? What is your worst case scenario? Feel free to share any and all thoughts on Nintendo's upcoming E3 presentation. Additionally, something which I'm sure we're all excited for, with most of us assuming at least one smash character will be show tomorrow, who do you think the fighter will be? Will we get a second character? Will we see a bonus fighter or third pass? In addition to general thoughts on Nintendo's E3 we're interested in specifically what you're thinking about Smash Bros's presence and which fighter(s) may be revealed. Lets see if we can get any lucky guesses!

Additionally, we'd like to pose the question: If Smash Infinite were the game being shown off at E3, with a potential fighter being revealed tomorrow, who would you like to see revealed? We're about halfway through our base game roster, so there are only so many slots left. We will be moving into a fighter job right after E3, (so we have time to adjust it incase one of the fighters revealed for Ultimate somehow messes up plans), so this discussion will likely influence the next fighter, as well as potentially future jobs.

Reasonings:
Q is like, the most vague character in Street Fighter ever. There are a thousand fan-conspiracies centered around him. With him being not only such a popular figure in Street Fighter lore, but Third Strike in general. I believe it makes sense to include him.

Sean was a cornerstone of Street Fighter III, reigning as top-tier until he got nerfed straight to Antarctica with Third Strike. Being a disciple of Ken, he has learned most of his moves (hence the Puppet Fighter), but due to his inexperience there are some difference, like uh... he uses a basketball like a hadouken! Truly the streetest of fighters.

Also Oro is the next SFV DLC character and I'm getting kinda hyped.

Resume E3 talk

Regarding Smash characters, my top two have been Quote (Cave Story) and Neku Sakuraba (The World Ends With You) for a while.

To copy a comment I left on Choctopus's video earlier today: On top of the simple fact that Cave Story is my current favorite video game, it truly deserves a spot for being key to the history of indie games and retro-style games, and Quote himself would be a fun gunner character, especially if they incorporate the game's experience mechanic. Neku, meanwhile, would be like Joker with Ness/Lucas-esque magic attacks and have a lot of potential for cool music. And the sequel is coming out next month, so it's a perfect opportunity for cross-promotion like how Dragon Quest XI S was pushed.

Regarding who I predict to see: ...I don't know, Reimu Hakurei?

And with regards to this thread: it doesn't necessarily have to be the very next job, but I would still like to push for an indie rep. Obviously this would be lower priority if an indie fighter gets announced for Ultimate, but even then, the indie scene deserves recognition and there's a ton of really good options.

I posted my hopes on the RTC thread, so there's that.
Probably gonna get nothing right, but who knows?

Hopes:
MARIO KART 9!!!
Earthbound Reboot
Phoenix Wright as Smash fighter??? (If not him, then Monokuma)
Splatoon 3 news (Looks Great!)
Kirby Game, maybe?
Silksong (I can dream!!!)
Danganronpa Collection
OMORI!!!
As for characters, my FOR SURE most wanteds are:
  • Phoenix Wright
  • The Knight
  • Monokuma
  • Toad
  • Rhythm Heaven
  • Rayman
  • Porky
  • Shovel Knight
  • Bomberman
  • Pyramid Head
  • Goomba
There are some characters that I have respect for, but aren't my most wanteds (like Quote, Skull Kid, Hat Kid, Parappa).
Worst case scenario? This thing.

There are multiple options, but the best bets are

For Ultimate’s Pass: New Zelda Character, New Pokémon Character, New Sonic Character, Shantae or Crash

For Infinite: New Pokémon (slightly possible or not), New Zelda Character, New Sonic Character and Geno

These are my choices and the top is in franchise in Smash order.

Gonna take it question by question here
Predictions - Crash or Master Chief I guess. Going off trends mostly, don't really predict smash with any confidence anymore.

Wishes - A big western 3rd party. Still think that's a pretty big hole on the roster right now.

Worst case scenario - not many id hate i guess. Would rather it not be someone who is basically a Japanese only appeal pick or someone like Jonsey when there's better picks for a lot of different reasons.

For final thoughts on E3 coming up I think we only get one character. If we get multiple then I think we're getting either a bonus character or fighters pass 3. Cant see them just being like "Ok, surprise, we're done here" tomorrow. It'll be more like how we got the
final smash 4 reveal.

For Smash Infinite, given how E3 reveals usually go id very much be hoping for a big western 3rd party, or a big 3rd party at bare minimum. Like this is where id want to see one of my favorite series like Far Cry or Bioshock, or a holy **** character like Master Chief. As I've said before, I think there's a ton of great picks who don't even get Smash buzz and a lot of them are western 3rd parties

For actual E3 I'm expecting a shill first party and a highly requested third party. Bets are on Crash and Gen 8 Pokemon, heart is on a second character for Sonic or Mega Man and Waluigi. But Excitebiker, Jonesy, Master Chief, or any indie character would all be equally cool. We are absolutely not getting more fighters past volume 2. As for non-Smash stuff I got nothing. I'm no good at predicting E3 stuff apart from Smash. I guess I would like to see gameplay footage of Sonic Rangers and BotW 2 along with a release date for the latter. Splatoon 3 info, a new DK game (3D please??) and a new Mario Kart.

For Infinite's E3, I want a third party character from an already represented series, and an indie character. Smash still lacks an indie rep apart from Steve, and Infinite's roster of newcomers lacks a second character for a third party series already represented-something I think should be a staple going forward in Smash games. (Yes, we have Leon, but he's an echo, and I want a fully original fighter). That's about all I have to say, see y'all tomorrow post E3

E3 Discussion
I feel like we are only going to be getting one character revealed for tomorrow. Seeing as how Byleth got their own separate reveal/showcase when they were the final character of their respective pass I can see them doing the same for this pass. If that were to happen though that then raises the question of if they're going to go for a exciting reveal for E3 or save it for another Byleth like showcase. I feel like they'd save the exciting reveal for the end, but it could go either way. Another reason that I feel they'll only do one character reveal is because I have a feeling this presentation will focus more on games coming out, given the lack of directs prior to the last one. They may want to go for a strong showing etc. Crash Bandicoot and a Gen 8 Pokemon rep are my two biggest guesses for the last two spots, but I'll be interested either way in seeing how the show tomorrow plays out. I feel like there could be a possibility of a third pass, but if it were to happen I don't think we'd see all that many characters get added, like I can't see them one upping the past pass with seven new characters etc. An announcement for a third pass would be exciting and a good way of continuing the hype if they forgo announcing the last two characters and instead announce one with the addition of a third fighter pass incoming.

As for Super Smash Bros Infinite at E3, I'd like to see a reveal for a character of a series that hasn't received a newcomer in quite some time. I'm thinking of series such as Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Earthbound, and F-Zero which haven't seen newcomers from their series in quite some time. If the goal is to make Infinite bigger and better, then it'd be great to see these series get expanded upon with expanding their respective series representation. There characters that would first come to mind for me would be Impa, Krystal, Porky, Black Shadow, etc, but there could be more to choose from. These series, if we're not including Shiek's addition as a separate character in 4, haven't received any newcomers since brawl or in Captain Falcon's case sixty-four. If the Kirby series can get represented with two new fighters, then it'd be neat to see these series get their share as well. I could also see this applying for a potential Sonic or Mega-Man newcomer as well, but I'd like to see the four previously mentioned series get some attention in this bigger game.

IMO it almost has to be a 3rd party character or a Ridley tier 1st party (AKA Waluigi).

Ultimate: the first 2 characters didn't do anything for me. Sephiroth and Prya/Mythra turned the pass around. I'm hoping that at the very least the character shown off looks fun to play. IMO it almost doesn't matter who it is, if they look fun to play I won't be too upset. Here's a list of who I'd like it to be that I think would be an E3 possibilty:
LoL Rep
Lara Croft
Master Chief
Crash
Phoenix Wright
Dante

Infinite: Pretty much the same thing. The 6 I have listed above are the most hype options I can think of right now. I'd also like to throw in Officer Howard (kinda deconfirmed from Ultimate) as the only (current) new 1st party option.

Effect: Can be enhanced at Lv. 99
  • Puppet Fighter: Zero Suit Samus
  • Stage: Lylat Cruise
  • Music Track: You Will Recall Our Names
  • Match: Stock (1)
  • Conditions:
    • The enemy begins with a Death's Scythe
    • The enemy will have a sudden Final Smash
    • Enemy can unleash powerful critical hits at random
KOS-MOS ver. 4 (Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra)
Class: Legend
Type: Primary Attack
Slots: ⬡⬡⬡
Effect: Hyper Smash Attacks
  • Enhance KOS-MOS ver. 1
Shion Uzuki (Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht)
Class: Advanced
Type: Primary Neutral
Slots: ⬡
Effect: Strong Throw
  • Puppet Fighter: Jill Valentine
  • Stage: Frigate Orpheon
  • Music Track: Vs. Marx (Brawl)
  • Match: Stock (1)
  • Conditions:
    • The enemy favors grabs and throws
    • Enemy starts with a Super Scope

Reasonings:
KOS-MOS is very important to Monolith Soft and Bamco and I couldn't decide which design to go with (4 is more iconic, 1 is her first appearance) so I went with both
Shion is the protagonist of the series and wouldn't make sense to have KOS-MOS without her girlfriend

was going to submit xenogears spirits (fei and elly) on square day but nintendo rule :(

Ay! It's Nintendo/Bamco Day, Yay! (see what I did there)

Reiji & Xiaomu (Namco X Capcom) (Artwork: Project X Zone 2)
Category: Primary
Type: Attack
Class: Ace ★★★
Ability: Weapon & Shooting Attack ↑
  • Puppet Fighter:
    • Joker
    • Palutena (Super Scope equipped)
  • Stage: Wrecking Crew
  • Music Track:
  • Match: Stamina (180 HP)
  • Conditions:
    • The enemy's attack have increased power
    • They have sudden Final Smash
Reason: If you play the game you know how it is about, it's basically a crossover game between Bamco, SEGA, Capcom and Nintendo and these lads are the main character. They are basically fitting in Smash
