Hi babes, yeah I linked a thread made by kirbykaze explaining how to DI out of uthrow > uair. It's pretty important to be able to do this and not actually rely on it too much, high level play you can't really get away with using it on Peach/Ganon and decent marths DI out of it most times.

Basically I think it goes like this, DI over his head, then during the first hit you smash DI back the other way and this should get you out of the second hit (the damaging one with big knockback).

Don't listen to edwin his post doesn't make much sense. But you cannot smash DI a grab so you just DI as left or right was what he was trying to say I think...

read this yah yah http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=233453

read this also yah but I think it repeats what I said http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=217426
Hi baby lol.
Yeah thanks alot for that, defintely gonna take a good look into this so I can finally do it right and have the correct knowledge on how to DI it.
Yeah btw I know about not being able to Smash DI throws, my knowledge ain't that bad lol but your advice I guess wasn't completely just directed to me.

I really like this thread, and good stuff to prof and VA for factual help for people who are learning how to handle stuff =)

If anyone wants advice it's best to ask me in person, I'm better at picking out people's good + bad points and how they can improve their game
I might even need to ask for advice off of you sometimes, even though we are both on top i'm sure there are things which we both continously punishes each other for, I know there are a few situations where I punish (well where I did punish you, since we haven't played for awhile now lol) so I will give you any small tips, i'm sure they won't be major cos you can work themk out yourself lol.

Good but lets not start flaming and petty stuff like that. What Edwin said seemed pretty good advice. This thread is about helping people remember- not a contest on who knows the most about smash --> SAAAAAAAAD
I don't think it was flaming lol.
I'm being a good boy in this thread anyway, figured out it should be time to help out the community as the top people have been kinda keeping stuff to themselves on the boards lol.

P.S I'm watching london marths...spam less random fsmash! also roll from wavelanding onto the edge, it's good!
It's cos of Chrisboi imo lol.
They just love the feeling of getting a tip, but I love the feeling of punishing them for it:)

lol Edwin we still want your input in general as you do have good input which people value but I think he just thought you were wrong in this situation.

This thread has been pretty good and alot of things have been covered so far.
Has anyone made any personal development in their gameplay and if so how?
Also do you kwno anyone who has made anyone who has made improvement.

I've have been playing quite alot of other characters lately and just been getting better people other people in general even though I will still only play fox in a tournament.

yeah its improved me abit, been reading through the stuff said here, ive focused on improving my spacing and i can see an improvment deffinatley in my marths spacing, looking to test out a few other characters at least in friendlies this tournament. Although having lack of competition in my area kinda sucks, i find myself having to switch to my weaker characters out of their fustration or my boredom, so either i need someone better to help me out on my mistakes which i cant pick up or just generally playing with better people, as i felt myself improving when playing Edwin at the last one, so any smashfests in london before the tournament let me know, i will gladly attened to anyone who see's this lol.

ok right I have a question, this is something thats been troubling me recently:

when im playing shiek, i often come down on thier shield with a fair, then i jab, then, because they are still in shield, i want to grab, but if i press z to quickly i get a 2nd jab instead. Can i jab then JC grab? I saw amsah doing fair jab jab dash dance to grab quite a lot in lyon, is that better?

jab cancel it and then grab.

basically just cancel the animation with jump or crouch or w/e, crouch is the most common one.

you dont need to jab cancel it you can just jab to grab and it won't be any slower than jab cancel to grab. You jab cancel if you want to do another jab so that you don't go into the jab combo

my lordy lordy lord. just jab the dude and hes reset so he is forced to get up, then grab him.

jab cancelling sounsd like fooking useless shiz but useless players like useless things.

I don't think he was talking about jab reseting - he meant if they shield the fair, jabbing to stop the shield grab and then doing other stuff after that.

Beast has the same problem with Z grabbing and getting extra jabs out. What pickled noob was talking about is the input issue he has with pressing Z to grab after jabbing and it forcing him to jab again rather than grab.

Jab > Grab is not a guarenteed grab they can actually shield grab you first if they are decent. I'd advise using a JC grab simply because you are less likely to use another jab by accident, just dash forwards a tiny bit and it will come out faster as well. Also Jab > retreating Nair is quite effective.

Hope this helps.

the reason he is doing this is not really because hes afraid of a 2nd jab. as robby said the jab-grab is not perfect, they can jab you back or even grab you if theyre quick enough, by dash dancing hes spacing in case they try to jab or grab him in return for his jab, then if they attempt to jab/grab him then he gets his grab =).

This is very tricky to get around as it covers alot of your options, but the key is to simply roll into space, its as punishable as any other option but if the sheik doesnt guess that your going to roll then the momentum is reset. Also if your fox and someone jabs your sheild (or jab x2 with peach), then dair out of the sheild (jumping forwards) it is ****, it gives you a TONNE of options. you can waveshine to whatever or go straight into the grab. if your against someone who loves to spot dodge try dair to charge up-smash, its hilarious watching them squirm when they know its gonna hit xD

-------------------

Zest 4 matches are up, watch them, there are vids of:-

Amsah - Sheik
Armada - Peach
Adam - Sheik
Zgetto - Fox
Faab - Falco
Makenshi - Marth
Remen - Fox

they are all like 2-5 levels above anyone in the UK, If you think watching Pro or Charles is good, try watching these dudes.

Pro - Go to a euro tourney dude, youll place higher then Charles ever will rofl, and the experience youll get dude, its unreal!
