ICs are a tough character to use well, and Marth is a tough matchup on top of that. You are headed in a good direction though, keep up the good work.

All you gotta do with ICs against Marth is to break his shield first, then freeze him. Once he is frozen, just drop a polar bear with shades and a purple speedo to crush him. Easy as Pie.

lightxdream, you shouldn't quit a character simply because anyone dislikes him, or he is over-played, or anything else...play the character because you like him. Before I learned of advanced play or smashboards, I used to play Fox. When I learned of his metagame, I enjoyed playing him even more. Yeah, it upsets me that everyone and there mom plays Fox. And I don't really care for the fact that Fox is the top of the tier list, cuz people will make stupid comments that its easy to play fox since he is the best character in the game.

But ya know what, why should I stop playing a character I enjoy simply cuz of what everyone else thinks? No matter who plays Fox, or where he goes on the tier list, I will always play Fox so long as I enjoy playing him. This game is about having fun...keep that in mind. Do what makes you happy, not just in smash, but life in general. And people that don't like it...f*ck em.

Whoever says Fox is easy to play is a complete noob.

Whoever says Fox is a cheap *** ***** knows what he's talking about.

People hate Marth because he is a beast. If he sucked he wouldn't be on anyone's radar. Just like anyone else in the top . By calling him a beast I'm saying he is really unfair and only a few of the cast can really deal with him. Oh well. It's a fighting game so what can you do?

cause he's too good. Most people have a character they feel confident enough to fight fox falco or sheik with. It's not necessarily a counter, but it's not so bad. You can't do that to marth, he just ***** everyone other than sheik, and even sheik isn't all that terrible on him. And sheik has other problem matches, like ICs and Falco. Falco players have other problems, maybe fox samus marth ICs, ect. Fox players tend to have problems with ICs, Marth, Falco, sometimes Peach, Doc, ect. Marth has 1 semi-difficult match and he just sodomizes everyone else sword-first. It's like having the perfect character and everything you could ask for, speed range power combos cheap KOs recovery edgeguarding....+ the best range in the game, the best DD and the best DD grab, disjointed hitboxes, attacks that cover his entire body with that disjointed hitbox, good weight so he can crouch well and survive well, just in case the first set of amazingness wasn't enough. Oh, and anyone you have problems with other than sheik that are as good as marth, you can just grab them and they're dead.

Other characters have hindrances of some kind, exploitable weaknesses, like falco's fastfalling, fox's lack of range and priority, peach's mobility, falcon's physics, ICs traction, sheik's recovery. Marth has NOTHING to exploit either.

Then all the Marth players hate on fox falco and sheik because they shoot him and camp, not like they have any other options if they want to win. Even then, camping only gets you so far.

That's why I hate marth anyway.

Amen mow, im sick of all these computer-esk marths who do the exact same thing no matter who they are playing against, so calculated that they know exactly what they have to do at every percentage and there is no real change in stragey any time u play them. sure it works but doesn't make for a fun game atleast not for the other side nor can it be all that fun doing the same **** over and over and over for the person playing marth. basicly what im trying to say is marth players need to stop complaining about other characters because they lose the gayness battle.

Haha. I play Marth as uniquely as I can. I don't chaingrab, I don't play defensive-campy, I go for silly combos, etc. And I'm one of the better Marth players around. You have to understand, the more of those calculated Marths, Ken/Azen/Neo imitation Marths that come into existence, the better you are going to be against Marth. It becomes very difficult to actually be recognized as a good Marth player because there are so many mediocre and average ones around making everyone somewhat good against the character. Yes, you will see Marths in most finals for tournaments, but most of the time there ends up being a huge gap in Marth placings, with 1 or 2 Marths being top 5, then the rest being 20th and below.

When I'm playing Fox, I am constantly in fear of being shinespiked, as shinespiking Marth is too easy if hes off the side. Vs Falco (I suck at this matchup + I don't cg), I'm stuck in my shield because I'm terrified of taking 3 damage from every laser. VS Sheik, I'm on edge the whole match because I don't want to get grabbed, needled, tilted, gayed. VS Peach, I'm nervous and overaggressive because I can't let her pull turnips, can't let her hit me with any float aerial because I'll get downsmash shieldstabbed, and can't get off the stage because she can gay my recovery.

I play Luigi and I have been killed by back throw to forward smash from marth at 0 percent on yoshi's story. I know the pain.
However, since I play Cactuar's marth regularly. Other marths seem slow and clunky. I have noticed that most people who beat me with marth, beat me with other characters, too. In my opinion I lose to people who are better than me NOT to a gay character.

and this my friends is why im a cactuar fan!! hes on the evil characters side but finds a way to look like hes on our side... lol props to cactuar for being the coolest marth player around

He also whores what Mow calls "the best DD in the game". Don't be blinded by Charles' beauty. He plays gay like all other Marth's. Just in other ways. People win because they play gay. Also Charles may go for silly combos, but usually he goes for brutal effective combos.
