If I had Melee at my tournaments that I score the Windsor Room (the huge one) for, would people actually attend? If so, you can see sooner rather than later that Magus is still amazing and I can still play Melee. :bee:

Btw, Idk if you care JFox, but I think you're the best choice for a panelist.
I do care actually. I've worked with you in the past, and its always nice to receive some positive feedback. :)

Inui, you and magus should come to the march 7th NY tourney. 100+ people guaranteed, with people like PC, m2k, mango, shiz, chu, cort, kdj, tink, drephen, chaddd, lambchopz, hungrybox, pkmvodka, bam, kage, raynex, vwins

omg theres too many good people to list, i forget all the rest. anyway if u were gonna pick anywhere to prove u still got it, this would be the place

They played the other day and Magus did just fine. I'm pretty sure he won most of them...

Hazzard lost to him in tourny last time they played.

Magus's Ganondorf is like 10x better than Oorah's and he'd obviously beat JFox.

Wow @ how much you underrate him.

I'm paying for him to enter the next Melee event so he can beat you all.

He and teh_spamerer are also getting 2nd at Genesis in Melee doubles.
inui i came one hit away from beating magus at the last melee tournament we both were at, which was not that long ago, and i suck hard

There is a big Brawl event hosted by AlexStrife and Crismas that day, and that's gauranteed money for money with Mew2King at the big Melee tournament and I like supporting AlexStrife's events a lot. :(

I'm 100% entering Melee at APEX and Genesis and I'm going to start hosting Melee at my tournaments that I get the Windsor Room for.

Alright, first off, real talk.

Jfox should in no way be on a panel that ranks players in the tri-state area. There needs to be some rule where you have to see top 5 placing and at least money at more than maybe 1 tournament where there WAS actually people there. This is like having a ******** child grade IQ tests; You just don't do it. I fail to believe anyone actually takes what he says into consideration seeing as how he only really started playing a few months ago and all of a sudden he is a master at judging the caliber and habits of players.

If this is the case on how people rank players than **** this **** it is ****ing stupid. As NEO once said unless you're top 2 it doesn't really ****ing matter anyway, ESPECIALLY when tournaments consist of the same 30 odd players (IF THAT) that you play all the time.

I motion that I get put on this panel in place of JFOX because I know **** sure I know more about the people who play than he ever will. Not even trying to be mad **** about it, but you know this **** to be true, search your feelings *****.

Also Reno is in no way 9th in the tri-state. You all are ****ing buggin hardcore. Either you all need to establish some tie-system or something because right now you are saying someone who consistently places IN THE MONEY (At least every other tournament that I've seen out of the ones you listed) is 9th. That's ridiculous especially when I know he beats all of the players on the list that are above him a good majority of the time

TL;DR Ya'll are ****in bugging, I need to be on this panel, and Reno is not 9th. No way in hell and everyone knows it.
Sorry Jay I would have gotten your back if I saw this earlier. This is probably what I would have posted.

Jfox is more than qualified to make these decisions certainly moreso than you by far even tho you claim otherwise. Guess what he actually attends tournaments and at them has taken sets in either tournament or MM off of # 7 # 8 # 9 on the list below. Maybe others but I'd have to ask. What have YOU done in MM or tournament vses any of that list in the last... period these rankings were made. His peach is probably better than yours atm if you don't like it tough come prove it. I"m pretty sure most of not all of the top 15 would agree with that statement.

Real talk Eggm style. And be grateful I was this nice in my post since hbk and reno are your friends, otherwise I don't know who the F you are don't come talking so harsh and like you know **** and are more involved than my crewmate who is way more involved than you.

Cactuar's Awesome > Cactuar's Awesome > Cactuar's Awesome

Wait...
LMAO! Stop waltzing into threads to talk about yourself

magus is amazing and i love him more than anything but g$ would oblite**** him

same goes for alukard, djn, tec0, pakman, sensei, reno, vanz, myself, hbk, eggm, jman, cactuar, pc, and m2k.

and i would put my money on ppl who didnt make the list to beat him i.e. hazzard (like seriously) jfox oorah kabrah etc
M2K, Cactuar, PC, possibly Jman(I'm not sure since he said he lost all of his friendlies against Linguini at the November No Johns ANMC event), and Pakman(since he's awful vs Luigi) would beat him, I agree. I think consistency is important to being good and Magus is extremely inconsistent at all(always has been as far as I know) but when he's playing at his best he's a very challenging opponent. Comparing him to Oorah is a joke. Oorah does not live to like 200% because he techs any attempt to edgeguard him and if you wait for him to land on the stage to dair him with Falco he techs that on the ground and punishes you <_<. imo he's better at the space animal matchup than Linguini because if he grabs you, he covers 2/3 of your options with dsmash or 2/3 of your options with side b and if you didn't get lucky and guess which of two moves you're going to do you die 90+% of the time and Linguini just does dthrow and hopes he guesses which of the options you're going to do and fairs you.

LMAO @ Inui thinking he still stands a chance though, LOLOLOL.

Now that I look at the rankings....

I'm surprised at my placement lol.

I thought Pakman was going be to higher than me for sure, same goes for DJN.

Also.... I think most of our players would have trouble with Magus as long as he isn't playing piss poor. He does a lot of... unexpected stuff to say the least lol. I think it would be really interesting to see Magus play in a tournament. Too bad he rarely travels far to play :(.

Magus is very good, and def the most creative player. I know he would def give people a hard time without a doubt, but I dont think he would beat most of them in a tourney set. Look at the people that are on this list. I mean my god, this list is soooo stacked. Not even hazzard made the list, and the kid is ****in ****. So yea u can say magus is good, and i'd agree with u, but who would he really outplace? everyone on here is solid.

Also, magus has said many many times that he plays considerably worse in tourney than he does when he relaxes and plays for fun.

As for what you guys are sayin about oorah, i think you underestimate the guy a whole lot. He has beaten all kinds of accomplished players in the past (linguini @ no johns). Most people haven't played with him in very long.

I think the inui should get more involved in the melee scene before throwin names around. This was a REALLY tough list to make it onto.

If you throw them, please make them in advance, i hate when hosts give like a weeks notice, and it really hurts attendance.

Also, holy **** at your post count inui. been trolling the brawl boards much?

if pockyD gets mod powers, I'm finding a new forum. I'd have infractions that said "you actually affirmed the consequent, which is a basic logical fallacy, 1 infraction point"

LOL <3 pockyD and all, but he's a debate nazi

i don't think i'll ever be a mod

the only boards i post in regularly are this one and pac west, which are both well-represented in terms of mods, and plus i'd probably never infract anyone because i'd rather argue with them than scare them away

This.

Also wtf Scar I wasn't playing that badly last week at gimped...
no you weren't playing badly at all, i agree with everything below.

when i say sloppy i just mean like not as polished as everyone on the list, i mean seriously it is no joke out there and these guys all get 10x harder in tourney sets than they are in friendlies

no disrespect or insult intended which is why i sang your praises prior to my statements but without frequent tournament attendance and a lot of dedication, IMO no one could keep up with tristate's best
