I have a friend who wants things that are good to practice vs a level 1 comp or blank 2nd player.

Unfortunately my training regimen with falcon was always comboing marth for hours on cpu level 1..but i'm not a falcon main..and he has a lot of tech skills he needs to learn. his wavedashing is pretty fluid, but he occasionally misses and suicides and the like.

Also, if anyone has thread recommendation on what he should read on the falcon board, i would appreciate the help.

Does he know l-cancels? I can help with learning l-cancels, but practicing comboing CPU's is a bad idea because of their garbage DI (as an example, in my super scrubby days as marth [I'm only moderately scrubby now :)] I "combo'd" upsmash>upsmash>upsmash>fsmash. That should never happen. ) In combos you are more restricted on practicing and I couldn't suggest any techniques for your friend.

nairs nairs nairs nairs nairs. its easiest to chain nairs on ganondorf and then work your way up to harder characters like sheik or even puff. at higher levels of play (which i'm just starting to reach), falcon's most reliable approach is with a well spaced nair, expecially against his two toughest matchups: the spacies. a good drill is shffling nairs backwards across fd. practice triple/quad knees, moonwalking, nair/uair combos, off stage falcon punches, ledge tricks (be able to ledgehop any aerial).

and watch mad falcon videos for inspiration. isaiuhhhh

Against Lvl 1 Marth, practice Nair Nair Nair Knee Knee,

Against Lvl 1 Fox, practice Stomp Nair Uair Knee,

After that, get creative.

If you want, try to get as far as you can in HRC only using Nairs, Uairs and the Falcon Punch.

He needs to learn his spacing for uair, utilt, nair, dair, grab, side-b and up-b.

He also needs fluid movement across the stage.

practicing on level 9 cpus are bad...
Practicing on level 1 cpus are great simply because you can icrease your fluidity with falcon...

if you practice against level 9s you are probably going to get used to the play style and not be that great when playing against a human.
By playing alevel 1, you dont lose that state of mind that you have when playing a human player.
Simply because they don't move.

actually lv7 cp are way more annoying than lv9s cuz 9 even kill themselves, the only thing that lv 9s have is a freaking perfect timing for every hit(and a DI of hells)

Against spacies, you could just dtilt knee,

Against Falcons you can dilt, dtilt, dtilt, ...whatever you wanna do.

I've gotten 3 dtilts at most before I laughed from how awkward it looked.

If they DI away on the dtilt you can't combo them and you'll have to techchase or follow it up with something else. At least against spacies, but I'm pretty sure against everyone else too especially fast fallers.

Three down tilts?

Haha. I bet the other player found it funny too. I sure would have as well.
