tl;dr if you don't read the blurb: I WILL INFRACT YOU
Didn't read the blurb. COME AT ME

*ahem* Ok now onto serious stuff, Duck Hunt got a good buff to his Fsmash with the bigger hitboxes, meaning they'll connect more often than before.

Also, most of the lower tier( Robin,WFT,1111 Palu) got some pretty good buffs, with damage and what not being increased. Also would the Bowser dsmash angle change be considered a buff or a nerf?

(sorry about my text size being trippy don't mess with the font size kiddies)

Buff. The angle changed from 60 to 48. You may think that would send people more directly to the upper corner where it's easier to survive, but it's actually angles farther above 45 that are the "perfect" variety, since a character's weight and fall speed affect their trajectory. Now the move's knockback angle is much more horizontal and takes the opponent more directly to the boundary. We didn't get exact data, but we guesstimated that the KO percent dropped by approximately 10%. Bringing the move more in line with Bowser's generally excellent Kill securing moveset. Still not one of our most notable moves, but we appreciate the improved reward for landing it.

Woohoo982, thank you for the input but most of that is data we have had for about a month now... and in greater detail.

Does Bowser benefit at all from the modifier buff? It'd be great if d-tilt got the collarbone treatment.

Actually, he does have one. Grounded Dash Slash has a modifier of 1.5 on the strong hit, and 1.2 on the late. For Aerial Dash Slash, it's 1.8, and then 1.5.

In that case...

Grounded Dash Slash (Strong): 12 > 9
Grounded Dash Slash (Late): 8 > 7
Aerial Dash Slash (Strong): 14 > 11
Aerial Dash Slash (Late): 10 > 8

Thanks for the correction. I was quickly scrolling through the 1.0.4 dump and must have skipped past dash slash by accident.

Does Luigi get any of this shieldhitlag reductions too?

Because if there is one, might as well lab it out.

I assume anything that has x.x-Hitlag is affected?

Let's see how Luigi's moves lo-
Final hit of dash attack :secretkpop:
Dash Attack
Frame 48-48: 2% 60b/128g (KO@ 327%) 361° 0.3-Trip 2.5-Hitlag
Max Damage: 2%

On seriousness:
1. Final hit of DA (Just.... wtf)
2. D-air spike
3. Green/Floating Missile
4. Fiery Jump Punch (Lol)
5. Luigi/Mach Cyclone final hit
6. Clothesline Cyclone first hit

O....kay.

Would anyone be able to check how Mr. Game and Watch's Bair has been affected by the shield hitlag changes? It has a few hitlag modifiers >1 but i'm not exactly sure how to calculate it on my own.

Bair
Frame 10-13: [2%]x3 100f/40w 25° 1.5-Hitlag Slash
Frame 10-13: [2%]x3 30b/40g 366° 1.5-Hitlag Slash
Frame 22-22: 3% 30b/170g (KO@ 239%) 361° 2.5-Hitlag Slash

The landing hitbox lacks a hitlag modifier

Thanks in advance!

Charizard's down tilt has a 1.2 hitlag modifier so does this mean it's definitely safer on shield now since the last patch?

2 frames safer, to be specific. 10 frames of hitlag on shield to 8.

I know it's kinda late to point this out Shaya Shaya (since we potentially have another balance patch on our hands in a couple of days), but for Link's changes, remove the hitlag related stuff. That's all from the universal hitlag changes, the only change he got was the alterations to his dash/pivot grab (which I'm guessing we still don't know specifically what changed there?)

Shaya Shaya should we have a thread set up ahead of time to tackle the patch coming up in a few hours when it hits.
I think this very thread was made pre-emptively before the patch dropped. Just not viewable to the public. But yeah, I think it's a good guess that the earliest the patch will drop will be at 9 PM PST tonight for the US.

In my time zone here in America, you posted this at 9:21pm. :/
