Ultimately, I just want to see the Grandmaster outfit for Robin. But since Robin can be almost any type of character, the possibilities are numerous.

But just for the heck of it...

This is similar to a build in my first playthrough of the game, but with ice-blue hair instead of the mint green here. I'm kinda hoping that this hairstyle makes it in. This was my preferred hairstyle for the mid-frame male.

Is that a reference to Street Fighter III 3rd Strike or to Persona as a whole?

Sure, it could be neither, but the resemblance is frightening, so I had to bring it up.

If that leak is real then it pretty much confirms that F!Robin is an alt.

Given the video evidence, that looks to be the case, though having it be a very well made fake video would be very hilarious.

I hope I don't sound like I prick if I say this, but f!Robin being an alt was known since Robin's trailer. I don't know why you thought otherwise.

With the Wii Fit Trainers, the male and female Robins, the Villagers, and Little Mac, varying their appearances and voices works just like selecting alternate color variations. However, whenever there is even a small difference in abilities, that character gets an actual roster slot. That is why you can select Lucina individually.

So anyone else notice how we have the fiend's scale to change difficulty? Obviously you unlock Robin by tipping it.

I joined this forum too late to throw my support for Robin(my 3rd most wanted character behind Mewtwo and K Rool) but I'm glad to see he got so much support. Great job guys!!

This is actually a rather important matter.

If it launches Robin into the air, but doesn't put her into freefall, I'll gladly take it as an OOS option. Especially on Battlefield or anywhere with platforms above.
That...would be awesome. Er, I assume you're talking about Robin's recovery, Elwind.

Anyhow, I do not know if this has been discussed already, but I wonder if one of Robin's taunts will allow you to switch between the Bronze Sword and the Levin Sword at any time, just how Kirby's up-taunt lets you get rid of whomever's power you absorbed. In Robin's reveal trailer, I honestly think the gesture at 1:45 might be said taunt. [Shrugs] Of course, I could be in error.

Actually, maybe taunting is how you manually get rid of your on-hand tome to go ahead and wait for a restock.

Hmm, that is definitely possible.

Though personally, I would rather the tomes function similarly to the Ray Gun; in that once you run out of juice, you can either throw it away, or throw it at someone using the grab button. [Shrugs] Then again, that might be problematic, as it would probably cause players to accidentally throw the tome when they really meant to grab the opponent.

This won't be necessary because you only swing the Levin Sword for smash attacks. I think it will automatically revert when you use normals.

I can't emphasize how fortunate we are to have such a clean environment here in the character forums. The rest of the Smash 4 boards are a complete mess.

I think it's something about strategy game players... just being more reasonable. Marth boards truly were a dominant culture in the Melee/Brawl eras for high standards and stuff :D

I am glad I was not a member of these forums at the time.
Not because it was a bad time or anything, I just wouldn't have fit in with reasonable people. :p

LOL at least these boards are reasonably active with good discussion. I was playing in the brawl days as well and Falco was my main and his boards majority of the time was filled with lurkers and lack of activity unless it was a matchup thread or something.

EDIT: I wish I picked up Marth more seriously when I was still active in Brawl before I retired in 2011 lol, he's too solid but I was like naa I needed Lucario and a pocket MK to deal with Falco's worst MU's.

Well, now you can pick up Lucina if you want to get an easier access to Marth... Let's see how all the characters fare, i have too many i really want to play... But Robin is the one i look forward to the most. And maybe this time people won't be like "Ur only playing XY cuz he's op lol"...but then again, i guess it is impossible. Watch people raging about Robin because "he has too much stuff", ignoring he has a lot of downsides aswell X)

That's also the plan but Falco is always my number one priority in any smash game that's not PM with Fire Emblem characters on the side but in this game both will get equal time. I could care less if the character is OP right away I just wanna play favorites. I'm luckily been good when picking up characters in fighting games and my choices are usually top tier lol. I was just so use to Marth in melee that it bugged me when I played Brawl Marth.

Shulk and Bowser Jr. have some leaked footage.
Now imagine if Robin wasn't confirmed and Gematsu was still alive. Chaos... pure chaos would ensue.
Lets just say this: If the footage is up-to-date and not taken ages ago (ESRB doesn't need the most up-to-date footage as they only care about things thta impact rating anyway), Robin has had like a hundred times more effort poured into him than Shulk, and still considerably more than Bowser Jr. So hey, go Robin go Robin go! X)

Hearing of the whole Koopaling-Alt thing for Bowser Jr makes me wish we'd see Micaiah as one for Robin.

Big stretch, I know, considering what we have now.

Actually if that info is true, every character has 8 alts (either pallete swaps or completely different ones), and seeing how it handles all the characters with a true alt (except Bowser Jr.) we would have to expect 3 additonal costumes for M!Robin and 3 for F!Robin (or 4 for both depending on how its counted), so propably no "true" alts.

Robin has a lot of love poured into her, though. Looks like more effort, energy, and unique mechanics went into her implementation than the majority of the roster. Not only that, she got an an entire article in Famitsu, along with Lucina and of course Chrom.

Mr. Sakurai is a fan as much as we are.:cyclops:

Wait, wasn't the attack Robin used in the air is FAir? And not a smash? Personally, I don't think the Levin Sword will revert, mainly due to the fact his Final Smash resets durability.

It's been confirmed that Robin can use Smash attacks mid-air.

The Levin sword and tomes are Robin's life lines. The Levin sword can be activated by using smash attacks--you can even activate these moves in midair!

While that is true, that doesn't necessarily mean that the move we saw, was a Smash Attack. There wasn't any startup, and I have a feeling the C stick won't use Robin's air smash attacks

I think the way this works is that if you perfom a aerial attack like you would a smash attack on the ground, you activate the levin sword for that attack, but it will still be same attack as if you didn't. So Robin doesn't have specific aerial Smash attacks, he just uses the Levin Sword when you perfom the normal aerials like one. Weither or not you can use the C-Stick to do this is up in the stars for now.

That much I understand, but are you suggesting is the tilts and the smash attacks are the same when your in the air? Just one can activate the Levin Sword and one can't? Also, I'm still sticking with the Levin Sword can't revert until it breaks in case you try to bring that up.

Actually, the Miiverse post stated that was an aerial smash attack. Furthermore, since Robin does the same thrust for his fsmash on the ground regardless of which sword he uses, it would be unusual for the motions to change for another smash input.
