So yeah.
Unless it wasn't completely obvious by now, I'm having a hard time keeping up to date on everything that I run on the forums.

So, would anyone be willing to pick up the slack here, and take control of this video thread for me?

Sorry Wofls, I just don't have as much time to do this as I used to. :(

I should be able to take over this thread for you. I'm on here a lot anyway and it shouldn't be too hard to keep this up to date.

Hey guys! I finally got my ezcap in the mail, so Hells to the yes. I recorded a bunch of videos of our friendlies yesterday and figured that I would be wise to upload some of my weaker performances for criticism :). Here is the first! More will be on my channel by the end of the weekend. Let me know what you guys think!

P.s. I have an odd feeling that I need to stop my aerial approaches :p. Any suggestions for other ways to close in?

:058:
I hate to re-bump, but I feel as if there are some gaping holes in my strategy apparent in these losses. If anyone has suggestions (or would like to tear my Wofl to bits), please let me know! Thanks!

Things i notice'd boom:
specific to vid 1: around 20s, you were off stage and kept getting hit off stage but you DI'd right into Lame~. Instead you should be DI'ing away from him and trying to find a safe route for recovery. Like the edge or something, DI away off the stage so that he can't hit you, it seems counterintuitive at first to ever distance yourself from the stage, but its so that you're safe.

in general:
-walk more
-sh aerials more
-recover more with side b
-roll less
-run less
when you jump in on someone, you dont have to always move in the same direction, move back at the last second or something. you also seem to always land in the same spot when you jump in on someone, sometimes with moves that don't have any range to hit at that position (nair) which sets you up to get punished.
-punish more with sh fair and sh bair
-don't make your approaches so linear
whenever you're approaching, you run at your opponent and never move back or anything. essentially when you start running they know what you're going to do/expect. this goes for recovering too, once again. if you keep moving forward it becomes really easy to edge guard
another thing to say about rolling is that when you roll in one someone and roll back, that's acknowledging basically that the first roll was a bad one. try not to ever do this types of rolls.

try mixing some of this in, and then post up a new set of vids =)

Wow, those pointers will be incredibly useful! Thanks! One question I have though is what you mean by linear approaches.

i mean linear in that when you're approaching you approach in a straight path essentially. theres no moving back and forth to adjust for spacing/baiting or to make it less predictable. by doing so you make it more of a guessing game and harder to deal with/counter.

Ahhh, that makes sense. What are some of Wofl's spacing techniques? Does sh bair work as a sufficient zoning method? Also, what's the best way to quickly grab the ledge so as to ledge-hog with Wofl? I'm used to Sonic, who essentially does a hadouken motion after falling off of the edge. Thanks for all of the help! I will be sure to post videos from SiiS5 for some further criticism :).

Seagull uploaded my matches with JJ from December on his channel :bee: Some of them are my Wolf vs JJ's Snake, some are 4 move only battles, most are wonderful Wolf dittos, one is a coin match that I don't want to talk about.

From my email to JJ:

I am bad at attaching files in an organized manner >__> These are all of our replays from December 18 2010, including the set vs your Snake :p They might also need the tag display code on, but that shouldn't change anything. Sorry I haven't been able to get the VGC cable or whatever, I don't even have the time to try recording whenever I go home for the weekends, but enough johns. 32 matches total, have fun recording/uploading ;D
There were 32 attachments. I really don't know what's going on.

Haha. Thanks. I do platform cancel a lot, but I don't even think it's necessary most of the time lol. I failed once on Lylat, but I think it's cause Lylat wasn't shifting yet.

among the figments of your imagination
I've done some serious Wolf training over the mast month or so. He's technically my strongest secondary, but it's almost to the point where I'm co-maining Wolf + Fox. Here's some of my matches with Wolf from a recent smashfest.

Vs. Metaknight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQrZqhhL6rA

Vs. Toon Link. There's a little goofing off in this one, but otherwise serious (maybe seriously good) stuff.

Vs. another Metaknight

Thoughts?

So, after a few Months i got way better since Dögüsch Smash in March.
Last Touney was BiB2 in Germany with total entry of 77.
And finally i got out of Pools xD

Pool Matches:
vs Luigi_Player :dkbrawl: :diddybrawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lgbroztSWw
vs Kunai :toonlinkbrawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBLwIUGqRxg
vs Nek :dkbrawl::dededebrawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI2-bt0qj60

I didn´t upload the Matches against the random Seeds, but won them 2:0 each.
Result: 3. of 7

Bracket:
sadly, i lost my Bracket Matches 0:2 and lost the Replays ´cause of no replay Hack Wiis.
lose to Bloody :wariobrawl: and Cadet :metaknightbrawl:
Result: 33. of 48

Mid Tiers:
Again most Replays are lost ´cause of non Hacked Wiis.

Win against Judge :foxbrawl:
Lose against Ravenlord :lucasbrawl:
Win against ipi :dkbrawl:
vs Serudos :samusbrawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_wyYMPvIk First Timeout ever xD
Win against DNL :kirbybrawl: :zeldabrawl:
Lose against Biggad :sheikbrawl:
Result: 13. of 55

I´m pretty much satisfied with my Results except Bracket.
And yeah the best Event was RANDOM CHARACTERS SMASHBALL ONLY HIGH TEAMS.
Place 3 of 11 with Yikarur.

Feel free to give Critique and other Stuff.

Kudemo, I was totally writing up some comments on your videos before but my computer crashed halfway through and I lost it X_x I'm pretty busy lately but I'll post again once I have time to critique your Wolf :)

AscWolf, the main three things I have as critique are 1) use even less utilt (I love the move, but it's just really bad... you almost always have a better option for it, and it's too slow for killing unless you get a good read), 2) work on spacing your bair, and 3) hold up when DK cargo throws you so that you get out faster and remember to tech the stagespike :p You had pretty good use of sideB and downB, although I felt like your sideBs were a bit risky at times and would've backfired against a more cautious opponent. Your patience is also very impressive ;D You didn't use a lot of usmash though, it's a great punisher and I strongly suggest you consider using it OoS. Other than all of this, the only critique I have left to say is play smarter, but that always applies lol.
