I hope you've practiced your spacing and OoS options. You have to be near perfect if you want to stand a chance against Lucario. After that, you need to be able to keep mixing it up and throwing off the other player because if either get predictable, both characters can take some damage.

2. Sonic is pretty much 50-50 against lucario when you are fighting him normally at low to mid %s.
But you have to get REALLY inventive and super unpredictable to kill him. because you basically have to kill him as early as possible. because the longer you let him live, the better the chance that you have the game ripped away from you by a random f smash at 80.

Learn the options you have to gimp lucario. its hard but getting good at it is the only way to win that battle.

Learn the tendancies of the lucario, and exploit them. Every lucario has patterns. when they like to dair, how they set up for their aura spheres. what they do with their jabs. their fair timing. what they do when you up throw them (hint, its usually dair) once you learn that stuff, youll be comboing him like a sandbag.

I guess I can credit myself for the tl;dr version of this two posts before.

Though I have to say that I don't think not knowing how to gimp Lucario will make the MU impossible.

Just really f'ing hard trying to outlast Lucario in a long, grueling fight with brute power.

I do believe that can be done.

Either way, learn how to gimp dammit, it helps oh so @#$%ing much very few of you have any idea.

What a shame that I'm such a hypocritic mediocre player who doesn't know how to do it despite knowing the importance. FFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

In both X's vid and Espy's, I like how you guys SDR > FSJ > ASC, waiting for the get-up animation for free damage. I'm gonna start using that. Love this thread.

Scatt's Sonic is really good. The only thing I would say is stop Spring>Dair. That move can be really costly. It cost me many times.

I just finish a combo video of me and Kinzer today. I want to show it off, but I want Kinzer to view it first before I show it off. I didn't tell him though before he left that I was going to create this combo video. All I told him is that I'm going to work on a little project while he's gone. Hopefully it will be a surprise for him. I'll post it when he gets back or I can't hold it any longer and I have to show it off.

Scatt is a very good player, the stuff that he does that is player dependent is very good, the stuff that he does thats sonic specific, needs a lot of work.

you cant spring firefox, he has hitboxes that negate it while hes charging,
you can spring firebird, falco doesnt have hitboxes while it charges

throw followups were terrible.

there was very very little spindash, which is good for him because he probably doesnt fully understand the physics and nuances of all the forms of spindash.

Zero ASC whatsoever. but that goes into the above statement.

KID, Firebird does have hitboxes mid-charge. They probably don't cancel the spring though.

are you sure? Im pretty sure firebird doesnt do damage while it charges, but I could just be confusing melee and brawl. Cause I KNOW he doesnt have it in melee.

I watch your two Meta Knight money matches. The biggest thing I really noticed you've been doing a lot of Spring>Dair. Take it easy on that. Based on experience with that, it cost me many...and I mean many matches. Some of them you just dair right after you use your spring causing some lag time. If you want to do spring>dair, wait till you are at your peak height then dair since when you land, you shouldn't have too much lag time. However, spring>dair also will be come too predictable. Try mixing it up.

I've been doing it for months. If they don't shield, and get into the stun of the footstool. It's a free dair and position swap.

if you did a spring, and are lazily free falling to the ground, why would anybody be shielding you? as opposed to trying to attack and punish your supposed airdodge to the ground?

Wow, you really don't attack out of spring?
Must be a small world up there.

There's other alternative options to get to the ground besides air dodges and footstools, KID.
You CAN still attack, you know.

but most people see sonic as a low priority character so they would be trying to attack him and expect to beat my attack with theirs.

I actually make people eat a lot of bairs due to this line of reasoning.

lol, I'd say you can only use that kind of strat against an opponent who has a really predicable recovering path, such as a Sonic that uses too much HA to recover... Like that one he was fighting. >_>
