What do you think the difference between regular horror and mascot horror is? After all most horror games do have a central antagonistic figure. And it doesn’t feel necessarily like the distinction is gameplay either because games like FNaF, Doki Doki Literature Club, and Tattletail all feel like they count despite not being first person walking sims like Bendy, Poppy Playtime, Indigo Park, and BanBan.

Godzilla vs. Hulk is actually happening for real.

It'll be the third issue of the six issue Godzilla vs. Marvel comic following the Fantastic 4 and Wolverine.

I'm pretty hyped for that tbh.

And yes I also know it'll be an upcoming Death Battle eventually.

…Gunn you got me even more confused
Basically, similar events happened, but they're keeping it vague in case they recast Harley Quinn or decide that killing off Savant was a mistake.

DC has a habit of doing this sort of thing with reboots. After Crisis On Infinite Earths, the Teen Titans remained exactly the same even though Wonder Woman was fully rebooted, leading to Wonder Girl's entire life becoming a massive continuity error. (since her backstory had her being saved by Wonder Woman and inspired by her to take up the name Wonder Girl... except in the post-Crisis continuity, Wonder Woman was only just now leaving Themyscira in the modern day, while Donna had been an active member of the Teen Titans for years)

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

I'll be weary about this as I am not familiar with the source.
I have no idea who the source is but most of those were already bolstered by the claims from more credible people. Especially the first two (and the already confirmed one).

the type of stuff that makes a half reboot so confusing (yet still more sensible than New 52)

Starting up another drawing now that I finished one. Gonna try a character that I haven't drawn yet. The Sketch itself is coming out alright.

Kane Pixels has a new analog horror series out.

It has a partly video game format and is definitely intriguing, but I don't know if the latest monster he's introduced is going to compare to the Bacteria/wire monster or the Rolling Giant/Julien. The latter two are still legit some of the freakiest horror monsters I've seen in years, and the Giant is just a haunted interpretation of an identical now-scrapped real sculpture.

God I would kill to have a complete hd dvd box set of all of Ben 10, all the movies and shows, the alternate openings to the first movie too. All in widescreen (the show does have a widescreen cut) with some of the special features from the original releases. I want this so bad!

Idk where I could post this to make it actually happen though.

Somewhat reasonable list. Halo could get a huge ass audience if going to a competitive console, since as MS/X-BOX is honestly washed at putting things on their own consoles. COD we knew about, Starfield makes sense, as with how expensive that game is, putting it on as much as stuff as possible will help.
I'm curious as to how well Tekken would do, since it's PS5/XBSX only. And is one of the games I think pushes the visuals in any meaningful way.

Obviously, there's no confirmation, but nothing TOO zany outside of the Namco stuff, but even those are popular titles that some people will get a kick outta playing them portably or adding a Nintendo audience.

DDLC is a visual novel first and foremost for me, and not a good one on top of that.

Mascot horror's usually a corruption of childhood innocence/ideas coupled with a recognizable character. So take a place or a concept primarily focused around children, add in an easily recognizable character and boom, mascot horror.

I don't.... 'think' Monika personally counts towards mascot horror. DDLC turns more into psychological horror more than anything.

The Street Fighter one will have episode commentary from Aleks Le, Maximilian Dood, Justin Wong, Lythero, Arin Hanson, Matt McMuscles and Guile Win Quote
I like that they have a SF VA and a bunch of fighting game players and personalities to do episode commentary and then there's Arin Hanson

Apparantly he owns the original storyboards and for those who are less familiar with Discotek, they generally go above and beyond for this kind of stuff like attempting to fix up broken mastertapes or flatout redubbing when needed, probably the best anime distributor in the business tbh

Got another drawing done. And I started up the next sketch after that as well. Gonna see if I can get as much done this week to bolster up my backlog even more. I'm on the 10th piece now, and I'll try maybe get 12 or so if I work smart enough. Or delay about another week to get to 15 and up on the drawing count.

I guess ddlc isn’t as fitting an example as I thought it was. To me it was like what you said, a corruption of a visual novel. But I guess that’s not really child focused. Idk, I still think it fits.

I mean, for starters, visual novels aren't for children really. But also, the subjects that the game focuses on, namely dating and high school, don't fit the first criteria.

Compare that to Bendy which despite taking place in a cartoon studio, still is understandable as a childlike property in being focused on cartoons, or Baldi and its school setting being clearly more targeted towards the right age demographic.

I'm not sure if I'd call DDLC even a subversion of the visual novel genre. Switching genres to become a horror story halfway through was a genre staple long ago that game came out.
Yes but people who gas up DDLC do not actually play VNs and thus would call it a submersive masterpiece like Mario RPG fans talking about why it's better than any other RPG

Already liked it, but this post also goes well with your current pfp.
So called freaky VN girl fans when 17 pieces walk into a room
Not really, though that could also apply to visual novels as a medium as a whole tbh.
Idk, the writing can really help expand the emotions of any given scene to help give you a scene of dread or lulling you into a false sense of security alongside the vibes of a character. It's def based on your own preferences though

Depends on the game, imo.

I don't think cultural osmosis can prepare you to say, reading Fate/stay night and stumbling through the forty bad endings to reach the good ones.

Sure it can. All you need to know is one word.
