Tbf she did ask for her voice to not be used in AI, by all means they should've respected her wishes. Definitely more to that story than what the tweet states

Nah this is a perfect example of why AI 'art' is ****ed, her voice was used without permission and the 'harassment campaign' is her not wanting her voice used by AI. Hell, this is using likeness without permission meaning Lindbeck could potentially sue.

Depends on the contract but it should just be the lines she recorded. Regardless, AI voice theft has so much legal trouble that all it needs is one party sueing for whatever reason for it to fade away, all it takes is for one person to feel vindictive and make a VA read through Mein Kampf or something and they'll get destroyed in court
To me it really does depend on how she went about it. I will preface this by saying that she's in the right and that if she says not to use her voice, then they absolutely shouldn't use her voice.

Sega own the lines and Erica's readings of them that they recorded, Erica's voice is her own because there's other characters she's done that have a fairly similar voice to Futaba. It's more that Erica can sue for stuff like impersonation and ID theft whilst Sega could sue for using their IP in such a manner if people decide to slap a render or png of one of their characters on the video.
She just wanted the videos that use her voice without permission gone. That's it. Anyone siding against her was never arguing in good faith to begin with whereas the techbros are insulting her and claiming they have the right to do what they want.

People will think it won't escalate but we already had a Ryan Reynolds deepfake gets used to promote Tesla cars, a massive budget movie using AI recreations of an actor who has no recollection on working on said movie, which he would know about getting a paycheck that recently or some streamer having deepfake porn made of her. People may think this is harsh but I strongly believe any AI enthusiasts who applaude this bull**** needs to die
I remember watching that and the organisers did not seem to anticipate this very well and Hayter wasn't too happy with this without his permission to use his voice.

I think Xander Mobus’s reply says it pretty well. Doesn’t matter if it wasn’t monetized, she was well within her rights to determine how her voice gets used and any misusing of this tech could easily be disastrous for her or any other VAs who had their voices sampled.
