Do people seriously believe that? We just got Ridley and K.Rool. It's obvious this game cares more about satisfying long-standing fan requests instead of promoting stuff.

We're obviously going to get at least 8 more characters in the base game.

Man, Steve and Banjo are lucky they got in when they did.

Thanks to the Bethesda and Activision acquisitions, the third Microsoft rep is gonna be quite the grab bag

By grab grab, you mean who's going to get chosen out of all the characters they have now, right? Because if so, I agree!

Master Chief may be the first choice, but I would prefer Crash and/or Spyro.

Smash speculation was fun


The DLC speculation period was NOT fun.


The Grinch-saga was NOT fun.


And then the roster was basically leaked super early on in the game's release countdown so it really wasn't much speculation as it was "Vergeben watch club."

Chill lol. Caitlin's essentially the Kirby of cartoons, she's shaped like a friend and only holds a knife in defense of all goodwill...or to stab lemons in a blender. :4pacman:

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd really like Crash and Spyro too. But Gill Grunt shaped a genre, comes from a legendary franchise, has moveset potential abounds, and in general I feel like he's a perfect fit for Smash.

In Skylanders, characters all have pretty fun and well-developed movesets. They're upgradable, have two separate upgradable paths, and some characters, like Trigger Happy, Jet-Vac and yes, Gill Grunt, have TWO different Skylanders movesets courtesy of SuperChargers. Sakurai has LOTS to pick from, and that's without borrowing from other Skylanders mechanics and characters (I can see him borrowing from Imaginator Skylanders). And the influence is definitely there. Skylanders defined toys-to-life, which was a huge genre for the time, sold millions, and brought joy to many, MANY players of all ages. IMO Skylanders should be one of the first third party properties in line to get a fighter along with a new Sonic rep

I feel like once a month we are all collectively reminded that this is a Smash forum and decide to make jokes about it for the whole day so that we don't get banished to the shadow realm by the admins or something
