Nintendo goofed on that one, it was a mistake. Therefore Banjo was the only non-shill pick (Min-Min game dead but Nintendo so shill) and thus the only REAL DLC fighter out of all the games. I should join the next Smash speculation with my genius intellect

This showcase's demon is of the Brute race:

“I’m Brute Yamawaro. Nice place you got here to spend the season. You wanna get a roommate?”

Alignment: Neutral-Chaos

Origin: Japanese mythology. A kind of hairy, cycloptic spirit that’s said to live in mountains. They have a human-like appearance with a round head, long red hair that reaches their eyes, and canine ears. Yamawaro diets consist of crabs and plant roots. They help humans who offer them food and escape from evil ones. It’s possible that they are kappas who migrate to high places during autumn. In the spring, they return to rivers in order to become kappas once again.

Skills: Crusher Onslaught, Zanma, Tarukaja

Next time, you will meet a demon of the Wilder race.

Okay, so aside from having one eye, Yamawaro’s design takes a lot of interesting liberties with the concept. Making his hairy body covered with leaves is a nice way to show its habitat and I like the kappa-esque crown of the head. You can see that it’s going for a more dangerous approach to Yamawaro’s character which works just fine.

Interestingly with Bridget, they avoided using pronouns in the bio and Bridget's headpiece has the male and female gender symbols fused which makes the Androgynous symbol.

Bridget is simply just Bridget

Funny how the fighting game characters in Smash all get new games around the same time, just when I'm (slowly) starting to get into the genre

I planned on picking up Tekken 7 eventually but I guess now I'll buy 8 instead, same with SF5 and 6

Alignment: Dark-Chaos

Origin: European mythology. A dog that serves to or guards the underworld. They can be found in many beliefs, under many names, such as Garm, Cerberus, Cŵn Annwn, or Bargest. As such, there is no consensus on their appearance and behavior but a hellhound is usually a supernaturally strong, large, black dog with glowing eyes and is associated with fire and darkness. Djinns and the devil himself can also manifest as hellhounds.

Skills: Fire Breath, Frenzied Chomp, Mudoon

Next time, you will meet a demon of the Beast race.

Seeing how many demon doggos MegaTen has, it’s a right call to try and make this one a bit unique by giving it a head made of hellfire. Though, funny enough, hellhounds’ association with the Christian netherworld is relatively new and you can trace their fire theme to pagan beliefs’ combination with the church. I also like the spiky collar, it makes Hellhound look like a cool, living torch.

Haven't played Street Fighter games in a while, but I love this new character already! She is so energetic and upbeat. I like her.

It's so funny, there's a perfect 50/50 ratio between cis and non cis characters for Strive's DLC and a trans person won EVO for Strive, what a ****ing timeline, praise our lord
