The Splatoon dlc looks...interesting. Inkopolis Plaza coming back is super nostalgic, though I really think it should've been a free update.

Side Order...I'll need to see more. Splatoon has a good track record with story dlc, but this isn't immediately grabbing me like OE did.

My thoughts
  • Loved every new thing in Pikmin 4
  • Advance Wars a day before my birthday? Cool!
  • I now have a reason to get Return to Dreamland DX
  • Game Boy (Advance) hype! Glad Super Mario Advance 4 is the Virtual Console version.
  • Holy ****! The Metroid Prime 1 rumor was true AND a shadow drop? Kick ass!
  • Yoshi's Island in MK8 looks super charming and awesome more characters are being added is great!

Great Direct! 8/10

Ok, juat reviewed the direct again. I can say pikmin 4 is packing with a new story. New captians, pikmin and enemies to fight. Also, it looks like sundown does not mean doom to stranded pikmin, but the enemies getting red search light eyes does indicate it will be tougher to tread and scary.

Too bad my Switch's banned so I can't play the game on NSO in case they're keeping stats on which old games people are playing the most.

  • Don't think I'll be getting the Metroid Prime remake cause I have the whole trilogy on Wii U
  • I might check out Baten Kaitos tho, Motoi Sakuraba music got me acting up (still really need to play Tales)
  • Pikmin 4 and Zelda look good but I already knew I was going to get them
  • I really need to get back to playing Splatoon 3, still haven't beaten the story mode nor have I played a single online match
  • Ghost Trick is cool
  • Might get the Online expansion pack in the future, the GBA update is one less reason to use my Wii U
  • Magolor epilogue??? I might cop this Kirby remake after all
  • Finally Advance Wars is coming out
Also one more question, is the new Fire Emblem worth it? Cause I'm really not sure if I want to get it

Weird Konami is selling that baseball game shown in the Direct for only 99¢ and don't see any sign of DLC or microtransactions.

So can I just mention how much of a trip down memory lane this Nintendo Direct felt like? I mean, look at the old games getting remasters or new games.
-Metroid Prime
-Baten Kaitos 1 and 2
-Samba de Amigo
-Ghost Trick
-Professor Layton
-Fantasy Life
-Katamari Demacy
-Etrian Odyssey
-Power Pros

And even the titles we knew about already really added to it.
-Advance Wars
-Megaman Battle Network
-Xenoblade showing off Shulk and Rex
-Mario Kart 8 bringing Birdo and the new Yoshi's Island track.
-Splatoon 3 returning to Inkopolis from Splatoon 1
-Tales of Symphonia Remastered

And then the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance coming to Nintendo Switch Online. Like, this honestly felt like a trip down memory lane with past games/series being shown and DLC showcasing stuff from past games.

No PRIME 4 news, but I guess they were making an HD version of 1 to hold people over. I saw on LinkedIn that Retro is hiring people. I wonder if they'll push it to the next console, or double console release it like Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild. Cause those examples would show its mostly a Zelda thing and not a Metroid thing to do that.

Mario Kart Stuff looks neat. I like the brand new course and Birdo coming back is nice, not quite as peak as Diddy or Dixie being added but still.
Kirby: Densetsu No Magalor Gaiden seems cool, I didn't get to really get into the original, so the remake might be up my alley.
Mega Man Battle Network Collection is still the main thing I want.

And hopefully Pizza Tower will be on consoles soon, but I dunno if it'll be on PS4 if at all possible.

Also, mostly caught up on Bleach's anime. It's peak.
