I have a tonne of ideas written down for my idea of a Sonic Mania style game focusing the boost era titles (Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Forces) if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Hello, I am John Sega and I'm here representing Sonic Team.

I hear you have a few ideas for the next Sonic project, and I'm willing to hear you out. However, be warned that if these concepts are poopy ass farts, we will move forward with the next Sonic concept currently in development. An open world RPG based entirely around the creations of Ken Penders.

Proceed.

Alright. Happy to have John Sega here, hope Noipoi is reading this too.

Basically it's just doing what Sonic Mania did for the genesis and Sega CD titles for the aforementioned titles, all of which primarily feature the boost mechanic.

Project: Sonic Boost Mania

There will be Unleashed style Hub Worlds but since there is only one stage with two acts, there is no need for the second "adventure field"

The story is a victory lap for the boost era, featuring Dr. Eggman and Dr. Eggman Nega teaming up, stealing the Jeweled Scepter from Blaze's dimension, and using it to kidnap both Dark and Light Gaia from the core of the planet, allowing them to use the entities power without breaking up the planet. Dark Gaia is then trapped in an artificial planet at the heart of a brand new interstellar amusement park built by the doctors, while Chip is turned into a roboticized minion. Sonic eventually is called into action when Eggman starts attacking places around the world again and unravels the whole conspiracy with the help of his friends.

Other playable characters will be featured, namely Blaze and the Avatar. Sonic’s other friends will be in the Hubs, and possibly playable in Multiplayer Races mimicking Sonic Rivals and Sonic R.

Levels from
  • Sonic Rush
    • Water Palace: Located in Apatos according to the world map, elements from Windmill Isle can be incorporated, as well as elements from Aquarium Park. Only zone with underwater platforming.
    • Mirage Road: Set in an Egypt inspired area called TBD. Some elements from Arid Sands can be incorporated for a few outdoor sections. Nearby Shamar geographically.
  • Sonic Rush Adventure
    • Coral Cave: A formerly submerge sea cavern located west of Southern Island in Blaze's world and the occasional resting place of the Jeweled Scepter.
    • Haunted Ship: An eerie graveyard of lost ships located in Blaze’s Dimension.
    • Sky Babylon: Located on an ancient floating continent which holds the ruins of a long-lost civilization in Blaze’s Dimension. Includes level design from Pirates’ Island
  • Sonic Unleashed: In general, set pieces from both daytime and nighttime are used in these levels.
    • Rooftop Run: While you still scamper atop the rooftops of Spagonia, you go inside of completely different buildings. Such as platforming inside of Professor Pickles University itself instead of the winery, not to mention a much larger airship is attacking, akin to the Flying Battery, requiring you to take it down from the inside.
    • Savannah Citadel: Platform with help from normal African animals. Mt. Kilimanjaro’s Sonic Universe equivalent is also a set piece here.
    • Cool Edge: Include level design from Blizzard Peaks. Another level set at night and featuring Dark Gaia minions.
    • Dragon Road: Dragon Road will be set at night despite still playing as normal Modern Sonic, no Werehog in sight. Because it’s at night Dark Gaia’s minions are around and this is the first indication that Dark Gaia is involved in the plot again.
  • Sonic Colors: In general, the 2D elements of these levels should be de-emphasized if not outright omitted. This is a 3D platformer, that’s what you should be doing for most of the game.
    • Sweet Mountain: The home of Chip’s roboticized counterpart and part of the interstellar amusement park, all constructed out of dessert and food.
    • Starlight Carnival: Include elements from Egg Gate.
    • Planet Wisp: While Eggman is attempting to reclaim Planet Wisp and add it back to the theme park, he hasn’t managed to add any construction sites to the area and is merely holding it in orbit. Maybe the Dark Gaia powered construction will speed things up in the future. But in the meantime, that means you venture through the planet’s natural environments exclusively to break it out of Eggman’s theme park orbit.
    • Asteroid Coaster: Elements from Network Terminal should be included.
    • Terminal Velocity: Your final escape from the Interstellar Amusement Park as it explodes behind you. Houses the final fight with Dark Gaia and the Drs. Eggman.
  • Sonic Forces
    • Luminous Forest: After being reclaimed by the locals post-Sonic Forces, some of the Casino architecture was kept and expanded on. Now has a Rio Carnival feel to it, fitting of its expanded Sonic Unleashed style makeover. The area it’s in is called TBD. Include level design from Plant Kingdom, Leaf Storm, and Night Carnival. Since the level is at night a mix of Dark Gaia minions and Badniks roam the level.
    • Sunset Heights: A small city located on South Island that Eggman attacked in Sonic Forces. His forces are once again attacking the area for the opening stage.
    • Metropolitan Highway: A major city settled by anthropomorphic animals from Sonic’s home Archipelago on one of the major continents. Though the city is rather uncreatively named Metropolis. Incorporate level design from Skyscraper Scamper.
  • Original Levels
    • Cyberspace Darkride: A digital simulator that’s a part of Eggman and Eggman Nega’s new theme park with out there over the top theming meant to replicate the true chaos that can be created when Sonic is placed into Cyberspace. Elements from Lost Valley should be incorporated.
    • Tropical Palace: Located within the Sol Empire, Blaze the Cat’s home kingdom located in her own dimension. A combination of castle and beach themes. Plenty of running on top of the water but no instances of underwater platforming. Elements from Jungle Joyride can be incorporated.
    • Vacant Core: The molten lava core of the planet empty of both Dark Gaia and Chip. Remnants of the Gaia Colossus as well as various volcanic structures make up the level pathways.
    • Eggmanland Nega: The gateway into the interstellar amusement park in Blaze’s dimension with elements from both Sonic Unleashed’s Eggmanland and Sonic Colors’s Tropical Resort.
    • Dark Factory: A new mechanical Badnik factory based on Mortar Canyon, Machine Labyrinth, Big Swell, Altitude Limit, and Dead Line. The final area at the heart of Eggman and Eggman Nega’s theme park where Dark Gaia is being held.

Boss Ideas
  • Roboticized Chip
  • Wisponized Metal Sonic
  • Infinite
  • Johnny
  • Captain Whiskers
  • Egg Hydra
  • Roboticized Dark Gaia
  • Egg Dragoon
  • Nega Wisp Armor

Level Order
  • Sunset Heights
  • Rooftop Run
  • Water Palace
  • Mirage Road
  • Savannah Citadel
  • Dragon Road
  • Cool Edge
  • Metropolitan Highway
  • Luminous Forest
  • Vacant Core
  • Tropical Palace
  • Coral Cave
  • Haunted Ship
  • Sky Babylon
  • Eggmanland Nega
  • Starlight Carnival
  • Asteroid Coaster
  • Planet Wisp
  • Cyberspace Darkride
  • Sweet Mountain
  • Dark Factory
  • Terminal Velocity

I feel a lot better

Tbh I was already ready to give up on that crush since me and that girl don't have much in common other than that we attend the same school. This is still gonna be the year where I get a girlfriend

Also at least my strangely large pool of queer friends keeps growing

Second option is clearly the greater choice.
I feel as if a cat girlfriend would still be a cat in a human’s body, or at least be hiding a lot of hair…so nah Imma stick to a regular homie cat who cooks and fights for me
Cat girlfirend:
Have to buy human sized litter box
Coughs up hairballs whenever you kiss
Constantly knocks **** off your desk (She understands speech and understands that you don't want her to do that, but she does it anyway)
Has cooties 🤢

Cat grill friend:
Makes food
No cooties

The choice here is obvious :nifty:
This may surprise you since I'm into girls and also a massive cat person but I'm not into catgirls. Cat grill friend is perfect
You all chose to be based and not cringe.

Wait, one of the bosses is Metal Sonic using the powers of the wisps? That's kind of awesome.

I can imagine him using the abilities of Laser, Drill, Cube, Hover, Rocket, Frenzy, as well Burst and Void.

Edit: If Lost World was included, them he would have Asteroid, Eagle, Bomb, Lightning, Rhythm, and Quake making him stronger and deadlier.

Yeah, I didn't mention it, but all the wisps from Colors, Lost World, and Forces are in here ready to be used and experimented with.

I just began playing God of War: Ragnarok.

Goddamn man, even though I know Fenrir comes back later and despite already seeing it, fifteen minutes in, that scene still tears me up, for any dog lover most notably.

I like The Rock but man just plays himself in every movie. The most different was probably Black Adam but even then it was just The Rock but evil
evil Rock still has electrifying charisma and puns tho…Black Adam’s lack of charisma by default makes him a slightly more original acting performance from Dwayne

His voice acting work as Maui is also solid ("rock solid" pun not intended) and pretty different from much of his usual work, imo.

The Rock's a good actor, but I don't think he's gotten cast in enough significantly different roles. That many of his characters also spend a lot of time in jungle settings or big cities (or both) doesn't help.

Having got all the James Bond films. Dad and I are gonna be starting our marathon of all 25 films. One or two a week. Probably take until April or May to get through them all.

So I did research this a bit but a lot of the reason why he barely gets typecasted as anything except The Rock is because... he typecasts himself as The Rock in every movie he does. Ever notice that in almist every movie the Rock is a macho man and never loses a fight? That's because he demands that in every movie contract he does, which severly limits what he can do. It got ridiculous with the Fast and Furious franchise

I have a surprisingly clear memory of the day Pokemon XY was first announced.

I can't tell you what i had for breakfast a week ago but that moment stick out in my mind. I guess the 3D Pokemon games just sort of blend into my mind due to most of them until Legends looking the same.

everyone ****ting on The Rock’s acting skills nowadays thanks to Batista (and inevitably John Cena)
Though he has certainly got better over the years, The Rock has always been meh in terms of acting in film. In his wrestling days it worked because wrestling scripts and story and acting was meant to be cringe.

Drax and Peacemaker actors are bad too. But I think they have also gotten better over time.
