I think they used AI art for one eshop promo but that's about it as far as I'm aware
Oh, lol that "Anime styled games" art post they made? That was such a nothingburger people made a mountain out of.

Mario Wonder doesn't even seem to have online co-op.

I'm 99.99% confident they won't be hopping onto the hippest new techbro trend. At least not with mainline Mario.

Lets not forget Nintendo is fill with a bunch of old japanese people that are still in the old days. I doubt they will go Square Enix and go "**** it, AI and NFTs"

I mean they most definitely have the money to use AI if needed. Not out the realm of possibilitt.

That said, I doubt that they used it given that everyone know Mario's voice is a bit different in Wonder (most likely an impersonator), and if Wario's voice in the Direct is his actual voice then it's 100% not AI. AI also sounds a bit more awkward atm.

On one hand I’m glad that Charles is now an ambassador (and one of the Mario gods), but on the other I’m gonna miss him voicing the characters he played (even you Waluigi…even you)

AI is really bad at replicating voices with certain accents and quirks, like how Mario's known for saying "It's-a me" rather than "It's me".

In other news, a few Disney+ shows are getting Physical releases.
Including Loki, Wandavision, and the first 2 seasons of Mandolorian.

He has voiced Mario for almost 30 years since Mario 64 back in 1996, a legend that stayed with us until now. Age is always a pain, but we have to live with it. Hope to see Nintendo give Charles a proper send-off after giving his voice to the popular characters of Nintendo.

Oh yeah......Mario Teaches Typing.
that and I learned he did some other things as Mario beforehand
Working for Nintendo since 1991, Martinet started voicing Mario at video game trade shows in which attendees would walk up to a TV screen displaying a 3-D Mario head that was designed to move around the screen and hold full conversations with them. This system was called Mario in Real-Time or MIRT and was developed by Pasadena based SimGraphics. Martinet could see the attendees by means of a hidden camera setup, and a facial motion capture rig recorded his mouth movements to synchronize Martinet's mouth movement with the on-screen Mario mouth movement. This digital puppetry, with Martinet's comic performance, was a novelty at the time. Martinet also voiced Mario in the 1992 Super Mario Bros. pinball arcade machine.

There will be Pokemon
Actually they announced that making models was too hard and they are going to delete all the Pokémon.

please understand, they are a small indie company after all.

They made a whole ass new job for him at the company so he could still be included.

Anyone who thinks he fired or was kicked out, etc and that this isn’t a joint decision are just conspiracy theorists.

Damn, Mr. Martinet is actually stepping down? He did so, so much for my childhood and I can't thank him enough for all of that. It was an absolute honor to meet him back in 2019 and I will treasure that moment always

I wish the very best for Martinet's next adventure

I'm sad that Charles Martinet won't be voicing Mario and presumably his other roles throughout the franchise anymore, but I hope he's able to retire comfortably and enjoy his work as Mario Ambassador. He's more than earned some time off.

And man, what a career. The guy's voiced one of the famous characters in the world and several more iconic characters over the course of 30 years, and landed several other great voice roles in other games, shows and films during those three decades as well, giving a stellar performance in each case. His roles as Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi especially brought joy to a lot of people over the years, giving the characters more personality that effectively brought the characters to life and contributed a great deal to how the characters are today. Nintendo may not have even been where it is now were it not for him, and the Mario franchise certainly wouldn't be the same or as successful. I know his voice work is iconic for me. Characters like Luigi wouldn't have left the same impression on me had he not brought them to life.

I wish he would've voiced the characters one final time in Wonder because with how wacky and full of life the game looks, it would've been a great send-off for him, but his other recent roles like Mario + Rabbids, the Mario Movie and Super Mario Odyssey especially were also all stellar roles for him, and for the same reasons as why it would've been a good send-off for Martinet, Wonder is also a perfect opportunity to introduce the new voice actor(s), so I'm fine with him stepping back and passing the torch onto another talent in time for it.

I'll miss you, Charles Martinet, but I hope you're enjoying life to the fullest. Congratulations on a super 30 years of voice work!
