So I ended up watching Violet Evergarden the Movie this morning. It was brilliant as expected from KyoAni, the art direction, seeing more of the cast, the music but the plot stretched a bit much IMO and while I liked it the start gave rise to a plot I would have loved more of.
I came into it blind so I thought the granddaughter of the girl
who had letters given to her from her mother after she died was going in a different direction.
Seeing Daisy going on a bit of an adventure by discovering Violet's life to help express her own feelings was how I thought it was gonna go.
Another solid 9/10 from me.
Persona's reputation as a series where teenagers beat up gods is funny because final boss fights where you don't beat up a god are much more effective imo.
I prefer 1 to 1 bat**** craziness. Or where you beat up monstrous being with your party then main character goes 1 to 1 in the end like FFVII in a way.
Still can you imagine any of the characters 10 years later just casually saying "oh yeah I beat up a god once." at work.
watercooler break
Co-worker 1: "So my son right, he's finally gotten into that school. I was never able to you know?"
Co-worker 2 "I managed to get into that school years back. That, clubs, talking to some fella overseas the best years for me. How about you?"
Persona character: "Yeah that time was a bit similar. School, clubs, part time work and when I was being a thief inside peoples heads to change their hearts, and when I used
Satan to kill a god of control.."
Co-worker 1: "............"
Co-worker 2 "What the ****?"
Co-worker 1:
clears throat "So my son right.........."
