My mom is gonna kill me for trying to get one. I can here her now. “You just got an Xbox! Isn’t anything ever good enough for you!?! You’re gonna spend another $600 on another expensive toy that you barely even want just for one game!”
I don’t think it’ll be that negative
Man of culture, I see.
Videl Culture
Both long hair and short hair are valid.

Unfortunately, she doesn't kick ass anymore so she's no longer valid.

#MakeVidelKickAssAgain
Videl should only kick ass again outside of FighterZ I’d she becomes the Great Saiyawoman and makes Pan the Great Saiyagirl…or whatever the name would be
This is exactly what I am doing for the time being and I will have to wait for the film to come out on Blu-Ray instead.
hope you manage to dodge as many spoilers as possible
I mean P5 and P5Royal ended up with the same situation where the enhanced version ranked lower on the list than base game.
so the better Persona 5 gets ranked lower than the inferior Persona 5 while Makoto 5 sits around breaking into jails and kicking ass?

I will say that it's interesting how DP aee so high, but Platinum, which is the exact same game but better, is 88 places apart, meanwhile BDSP isn't on the list at all despite it just being a better D&P in every way.

Same with GS being higher that HGSS, ans Crystal isn't even on the list at all. Nor Emerald. Or ORAS. Nor FRLG.

Which makes me wonder if Japan doesn't really care for the remakes and/or 3rd versions as much as every other region
Depending on when the poll was run BDSP may've came out too late to make the list. With Third versions my best guess is that since they usually sell around half as much as the paired versions more people may be more familiar with the latter and more likely to vote for them.

I have no clue for the remakes.

Well, that only further makes it seem that Japan doesn't care for emhanced versions and/or remakes. Because Persona 4G and Persona 3 Portable ain't there other.

I didn't even notice this at first, but Apex Legends is there for some reason

While she's part of the Indonesian branch and not the JP branch, Ollie from Hololive plays Apex a ton. Other members across divisions do too.

I wonder if it was already a popular choice, or if Hololive helped boost the overseas playerbase, lol.

It could already have already had a notable playerbase, but seeing as Japan doesn't view shooters as highly (except for Splatoon), it is a bit surprising even with a Hololive boost.

Dead By Daylight is on the list too, I was gonna make a point with that but I forgor

I'm pretty sure the story additions to 4G were controversial for fans and not everyone liked the new girls added in that one.

DBD might actually have a Hololive boost too, as that was a regular game for a short time, especially during October.

Gen 7 can stay underrappreciated if it means the fanbase won't get as annoying as Gen 5's.

SuMo USUM top tier Pokemon games btw. Gen 7 top 2.
I legit regret not buying USUM.

I didn't get it because I was salty it wasn't on the Switch and looked like it recycled too much from SuMo, lol. I'm gonna be sure to snag a copy soon-ish.

Tbh, I didn't get it because I felt burned when I was so excited from SuMo, even more when they gutted the story.

But I'll try it out eventually. Probably on Citra if anhthing because my OG 3DS is uh... not suitable for that considering it damn near explodes when playing regular SuMo

Interesting to see FF XV so high, that one's super divisive from what I hear.

Lots of solid stuff in here though: Yakuza games are great, heard fantastic things about Gravity Rush, and Trails of Cold Steel is on the to-play list.

Genshin and Tales games are also rad. Need to actually start Genshin (have only played like, an hour of it lol) but it's definitely on my list of games.
Speaking of games though, I think my big thing going into the new year is to buy less and play more. Over the last 5 years I have developed a bad habit of picking up games and not finishing them, and I wanna stop that. I'm hoping to clear a significant portion of my backlog next year, which probably means I'll be skipping a lot of game launches so that I don't keep adding more to the pile.

As it stands, Splatoon 3 is the only game I'm committed to buying on launch. Legends Arceus might have to wait a few weeks depending on where I am with what I'm currently playing, and Kirby's gonna hinge on when it comes out.
1. Yeah FFXV is pretty high (actually would be 29 on the list) cause despite it's issues when it shined, it really shined. Would have thought some be questioning me as to why games like Death Stranding and Scarlet Nexus are much higher than others.

2. Gravity Rush is one of the best games I've ever played. There's a sense of movement that's hard to explain. I just love flying around with a character is super cool. Kat is waifu.

3. Trails is a great series and I cannot recommend Cold Steel enough. 1-2 is worthwhile on it's own as you basically see a group of military academy cadets all with different backgrounds seeing their country unfold into war. I would say the core cast is just on par as other JRPGs like Persona.

4. The habit of buying less and play more is another habit I'm trying to get into but you always fall back. I'm trying to break that cycle.

What y’all doing?
Got pulled into Yakuza and now going back to writing,

Finally quiet in the house.

IDK what methodology was used to make that top 100 games list, but I would guess a non-trivial percentage of the voters assumed remakes were implied and/or disqualified, so their votes just got counted as the originals.

I kinda want to play a playthrough of the Twilight Forest at some point after watching Failboat do it with his group but IDK if it's safe to play old versions of Minecraft right now after the security issue...

One thing I do want to do next year but I know I won't.

Get into reading books that aren't light novels from Japan or manga or the age old classics like Dickens and Twain or the classic sci-fi like Dune. Current best sellers sort of thing......but most just don't interest me.

I also need to get off my ass and get a new laptop. My current one is reaching it's eighth year so it should be replaced.

Make sure to play the Judgment series and Fist of the north star lost paradise for the full Yakuza experience.
Oh yeah, both are cheap as chips but not really on the list since trying to get less games.

So excluding obviously superhero movies. Any movies you guys look forward to next year?
Won't be released over in the West until 2023 but looking forward to Makoto Shinkai's next film.

Translated as Suzume's Locking Up.

And of course the Laid Back Camp film.

Other than those two it's Doctor Strange, Sonic 2 and Spiderverse.

I see that the whole Hunter x Hunter anime is on Netflix, so I think I'll watch that this week. I stopped watching somewhere in the Chimera Ant arc because the whole thing felt too bleak, but the anime's a definite improvement over the same material from the manga. (Togashi's art fell apart during that time period - this was a page that was released in Shonen Jump:

Not counting superhero movies, John Wick Chapter 4 seems like a standout.

I'm not familiar with Uncharted, and while I enjoyed the Tomb Raider movie (the Alicia Vikander one) despite being unfamiliar with Tomb Raider, I'm not sure about what I've seen so far.

I didn't see the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, but I might give Sonic the Hedgehog 2 a shot as it seems closer to the source material.

The recent Halloween trilogy has a mixed record for me (really enjoyed Halloween (2018), didn't care for Halloween Kills), so I'll wait for reviews when it comes to Halloween Ends.

While I like the Expendables franchise, I'm honestly concerned about the Expendables 4. By all accounts, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger are out, and from what I've heard, Sylvester Stallone has a much smaller role this time, so that leaves Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture. Statham and Lundgren are great, but it's a far cry from the first two movies having an insane all-star line-up of action stars. (the newcomers to the franchise don't give me much confidence either - then again, I'm not familiar with Tony Jaa or the cast of The Raid)

The only other ones listed on Google that catch my attention are the Mario movie, the new Mission Impossible, and Scream 5, which I know very little about. (and I'm honestly not sure about the Mario movie's quality)

Me dragging my anime hesitant best friend to go see the Laid Back Camp film knowing that he dragged my ass to go see a film a few years ago.

He begged me to go see Yesterday which was fine but the thing is that it was in a sketchy area at like 9pm at night. I was like "**** it I'll go but there will be a day you're going to see a film that I want to see. No ifs, no buts." to which he agreed.

The time draws hopefully in 2022.

This is going to sound weird, but I think seeing a No Way Home leak actually enhanced a part of the movie (I probably would have preferred to go in blind on the whole, but for one specific scene the leaks helped)
I got spoiled pretty bad on No Way Home before I watched it. You have the vanilla stuff everyone knew: Tobey, Andrew, Daredevil, etc. But I also found out about other stuff, such as the Post Credits scene and (most tragically) the Mets reference. The thing I'm talking about, though, is the death of Aunt May. I had heard "Aunt May is killed by Green Goblin", but I didn't hear any of the specifics. Therefore, when the story revealed that Osborne was at FEAST with Aunt May the stakes were way higher, which made it so much more impactful when it was shown he was just in Sad Old Man mode. I wonder how that scene landed to those who weren't spoiled?

I haven't touched Rise in forever.

It was really fun but post game content is almost non-existent so I haven't felt too compelled to boot it back up.
ITs monster hunter, It doesnt have post game content. None of them do. MH post game content is just fighting the monsters, gettiing mets, making armor, rinse and repeat

It’s really weird to me to start thinking about Final Fantasy XVII when XVI isn’t even out yet, but I can’t help it because man I really want another final fantasy with a female protagonist. When was the last time they tried that, Lightning? And before that it was Terra (well technically Yuna but that’s kind of complicated). Like, there’s nothing wrong with a male one, but it’s basically the default everywhere and it’s getting a little old.

Finally got around to Raya and the Last Dragon. It was fairly good, though it wasn't anything special either.

Felt a bit stock, and Sisu was kind of a poor man's Genie, but the animation and score was great, and I liked the ragtag group. I expected Boun to really get on my nerves, but he was probably my favorite character.

So yeah I enjoyed it for the most part, though n didn't quite live to my expectations for me. Still good though.

Also Noipoi Noipoi , how's it feel being a part of the Disney Canon now?
