I just spent 3 hours helping my mother scare the **** out of elementary schoolers and adults for a Halloween carnival her school was hosting. Considering the G word is apparently offensive now, I wonder how Hunchback would get around that. I know Mystery Science Threater 3k renamed one of the robots on the show since they had that as a name.

I had to sit and actively think what word you meant. Took me like... five minutes.

Considering the word is often used by those groups to describe themselves, I think they can get away with it. They can even explain it due to historical context. Sure it may not fit with Disney's squeaky clean inoffensive tone the remakes have but...

Oh also, hey, been a while since I gave a progress update on Asteria, so let's talk about that little comic my pal and I are making.

The sketches for the first comic are 100% done, and Haiku has been working on the line art and color! I've been working on more world building stuff in the meantime. And I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this, but some of these comics will be dubbed. So yesterday, I posted the casting call for this fella, Abel.

A VA I've worked with in the past named Lisa-Marie Lee was kind enough to help me out with the casting call, which is a great help, cause I'm trash at competently composing those. Seems to be doing rather well, though! I posted it on Twitter, since that's where a lot of VAs find casting calls like this, and hey, it's doing way better than I expected. It currently sits at 226 likes and 62 retweets, some of which being from professional VAs, which makes me really happy, haha. And already I've received some killer auditions!

Abel is a character whose voice I'm pretty open to interpretation on, so I've already gotten some unique auditions from both male and female VAs alike, which is great. I'm also working with HaikuHello to make sure that Abel has a voice they like, too!
