And then there's Persona, where it's implied that these characters get dragged around different worlds on a regular basis they just get their memories of these encounters wiped when they return home.

One of my friends is pitching an absolute fit over this. He insists that Sora breaks the video game character rule and “might as well have been Goku”. I don’t even get the thought process.

I only ever played Chain of Memories on GBA and I don't even know much about KH other than it has confusing lore but when I heard that Simple and Clean orchestrated I was like

I guess it's because Sora's owned by Disney, so him being in Smash means that Disney's involved in Smash? I'm not sure, though - that seems like a stretch to say that "he might as well have been Goku".
