One of the upsides of America being multicultural is the foriegn markets tend to be as authentic as possible to the mainland culture they want to emulate (as they tend to be a part of the culture themselves).
The downside is that since we're multicultural, have a tendency to Americanize everything, and since Americanized versions tend to be more popular/chain resturaunts, many people tend to miss out on actual authentic food that tastes so much better and far more fresh.
This is legit the main reason why I can barely eat Taco Bell despite liking mexican food.

I think that applies to the foreign cuisine restaurants in most places. You need a high budget for authentic ingredients and that results in expensive restaurants, which most people couldn't have access to in the first place.
The best way to experience a cuisine is either go visit its home country or eat a native's home cooking.
