As someone who hasn't actually watched the show, but has seen a lot of the advertising that came out before it aired, wasn't He-Man like, the main thing that the advertising focused on?

Like, if you're going to do that, and call it "Master of the Universe", people are going to think it's He-Man.

Kinda feels like a bait and switch.
That's the literal main reason people are complaining, they wanted a high quality Heman cartoon, but what they got didnt reflect the trailers.

At least that's what my cousin told me, he's an extremely big Masters of the universe fan.

Well from what I gathered Kevin Smith flat out lied to everyone multiple times saying the show was gonna be focused on He-Man when they killed him off in the first episode (twice in the first five) and the show now centers around Teela (who has been made completely unlikeable), Smith attacked fans and critics who knew or caught onto the bait and switch and blames the fanbase for not liking the new direction they’re taking it.
I recall hearing Kevin Smith was not a fan of He-Man before this show was announced.
The fact that he "loved" He-Man while promoting the show raised some red flags.
Say whatever you want about the She-Ra reboot, at least it was honest about what it was.

I mean…it worked with MGS2 and the MCU in general (and of course…somehow TLOU2)
I remembered that I was shocked and sad when I first heard of Chadwick's passing last year. I'm pretty sure that Wakanda Forever will be a celebration of his legacy and achievements.
feels are going to be damaged

don’t even get started with She-Ra. That show was a banger (as was the theme song)

I'm not dunking on She-Ra.
From what I have seen of Season 1 (need to finish that show, maybe once I finish Infinity Train [and The Owl House if Disney+ has new episodes]), it was good.
Didn't care for the theme song though.

And now look at them. A shadow of their former selves. So pathetic.
I dunno, they seem to be doing alright from what I’ve seen.

Sea of Thieves is going good, they’re working on Breath of the Everwild. Yeah they’re not pumping out Banjo Kazooie sequels or carrying the XBone like they carried the N64, but do they need to? It’s a different time, a different era of gaming. We can’t expect them to be doing the same things they did almost thirty years ago for an entirely different company.

Hell, Nintendo’s changed so much since then. If they hypothetically stayed with them, could we be sure they’d be doing the same things anyway?

Any new Banjo content would be appreciated, though.

I’m the only one who isn’t surprised that the show called Masters of the Universe is not mainly focused on He-Man even though his name isn’t on the title, and that Smith also didn’t say much considering that if he said any more there would be massive spoilers and whatever towards the rest of the story

besides, the show is actually good even without those omg Teela is a woman being the main lead and not the manly He-Man this or ugh I hate women they can’t be so muscular that (tho a I suppose Twitter isn’t the best place to be stuck seeing complaints with)

obviously this isn’t targeted towards everybody, many have valid complaints about the show, but there sure are a lot of men specifically that have beef with it without watching the show.
It’s not that he couldn’t say anything about the plot is that Kevin flat out lied to everyone about the content of the show for a while now and slandered other creators and fans because of it.

Also it seems like you’re only taking the surface level of those complaints. I’m gonna look more into the show and try to give it a watch before making a final call because I want to feel more informed though hearing stuff like how Teela’s response to her friend sacrificing himself in saving the universe was to berate his grieving parents and complain about him not telling her about his secret and telling a revived Adam that he was basically an asshole for dying doesn’t give me a ton of hope to be honest.
