I dunno, they seem to be doing alright from what I’ve seen.

Sea of Thieves is going good, they’re working on Breath of the Everwild. Yeah they’re not pumping out Banjo Kazooie sequels or carrying the XBone like they carried the N64, but do they need to? It’s a different time, a different era of gaming. We can’t expect them to be doing the same things they did almost thirty years ago for an entirely different company.

Hell, Nintendo’s changed so much since then. If they hypothetically stayed with them, could we be sure they’d be doing the same things anyway?

Any new Banjo content would be appreciated, though.
A: I just miss a lot of their old ips and I think seriously farming them out and bringing them back as recurring franchises would get more eyes on the xbox

B: Rare just seams to have lost all of their personality. There’s a bit of it in Sea of Thieves but what little of Everwild we saw before it was scrapped to be reworked and what the devs said about it is a level of artsy pretentiousness I thought Rare was incapable of. It’s nice that Perfect Dark is coming back and i’m glad we got a new KI and Battletoads. I just really hope they’re not all one night stands, ya know?

It’s like…. you guys all say Nintendo games have a kind of magic to them. Well, to me, Rare games used to have their own kind of similar magic. And now they don’t. And I desperately want it back. And I don’t want to have to dredge my way through the indie scene to get it.

Well Y’know, there’s nothing wrong with that. I just don’t agree with the notion that they’re pathetic.

As callous as it is to say, sometimes, you don't really have a choice.

I miss old VALVe, where it was focused around Half Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead, but nowadays, they've pretty much abandoned their IPs in favor of VR, and E-Sports through Counter Strike and DOTA2, and they pretty much outsource work on those 2 games anymore.

Team Fortress 2 can't even get a team of devs to work on it to stop the botting crisis.

I dunno how they manage all the money they get from Steam.

They can’t even count to three.

The truth is the workplace of VALVe is a double-edged sword.

You can work on ANY project you want at ANY time, it's a very free-form kind of business... sounds like a dream come true, right?

But if you're not putting your effort in towards the 'new' stuff, then you're pretty much bottom of the corporate totem pole. TF2 had like, 2-3 active devs still working on it occasionally last we heard, and the botting's been going on for almost 2 years now.

up and down and all around
Um.. Say I draw people here but uh.. as animals... What animal does everyone want to be
Technically I already am one, so if you wanted to draw me as I appear in my videos...

(I've since updated the model so this is old, but eh, it'll work lol. I'm still 97% the same in the newer versions anyways.)

Fair point. It’s just so disappointing to me.

Just because you don’t have a choice doesn’t mean you can’t be disappointed.
