Yeah, actually, to legit talk about Smash for a sec (HERESY, I KNOW: SMASH, IN THIS THREAD???):

I really do legit believe September's our month. I know there's been nervousness over TGA and Sakurai's "be a while" comment, but, like, he always says it'll be a while. Mainly because those presentations are filmed way out in advanced.

Plus, Nintendo has like, nothing to gain from waiting that long. It's the final character, it's easy Direct bait, gets us suckers Smash fans in one more time before they know we'll all scatter into the wind and stop caring about the game now that there's no arbitrary concept of slots and franchise representation percentages to argue about.

Because goodness knows hardly anyone still even talking about these characters is even still playing the game, lol.

I've never experienced the ending of a Smash cycle before on this site, it'll be an interesting ride. (Even for the base game I didn't join until after all the characters were revealed, let alone a full game cycle ending like with Brawl or Smash 4).

Really says something about how long this DLC cycle has been going on when my accounts more than 2 and a half years old.

I love this game, but gosh I am so ready for it to evergreen and let other things have a spotlight.

I think part of it is just that reveals themselves just have lost of bit of their "oomph" for me: When you get them on a near consistent schedule for 3 years straight, they start to just become a normal thing. I'd like Smash to chill for a while so that 5 years from now, on whatever the heck Nintendo's overcharging for next, they can be a special occasion again.

Also so Smash and Nintendo devs to go read "Netcode for Dummies", because HOOOOOO boy online is big stinky.

It certainly has been quite a journey for Smash Ultimate when it was first revealed three years ago when we witnessed "Everyone is Here!" But anyways, even without the Smash speculation, I am still going to have a lot more things to look forward to and focus on. Of course one of these is to still hang around the Smash forums to chat and discuss about other things from video games, films etc.

“I definitely don’t think it’s going to be some big hype lead up thing just because with the way things have been progressing they’re just really isn’t anything that could satisfy that big hype lead up aside from maybe Geno or a character who was an assist trophy previously but even then I don’t really think that’s possible. So I’m going all in on my idea that the final fighter is either crash bandicoot or the Mario Rabbids. Like crash is a big thing in gaming now he is, a lot of people are saying he’s like sonic in brawl or wolf in smash for just some big community thing and they’re wondering if that’s gonna be like sonic in brawl where it actually happened or if it’s gonna be like Wolf in smash four where it didn’t. And I really don’t know. I really want crash bandicoot. But I just don’t know. And the Mario Rabbids, they’ve got a sequel coming out and it fits with this kind of pattern that has happened with the second season where all of the characters have done something it feels like he wanted to do in the base game and Steve really being the only outlier. Like Arms, Xenoblade 2, more final fantasy content, a Tekken character like those are all things he had talked about before and talked about wanting to do but couldn’t because of timing or planning or budgets all that kind of stuff. And like look at the big Nintendo switch games from the first year or two of its life. Mario + Rabbids is the only one without any significant representation in smash now. Like we got some games that came out after ultimate that you could consider big switch games but it doesn’t kind of feel the same you know. So I don’t know but I’m putting all my bets on either crash or the Mario Rabbids.”
