Sakurai strikes me as the kind of developer who would rather make a brand new sequel game than a port. The guy's dedicated to making his games stand out from each other and even considers Smash 4's two versions separate games.

As for whether or not it can be done... iirc, Uprising actually was designed to take full advantage of the 3DS' capacities so I imagine it would take some effort.

Yeah, that's why one of the things that I suggest to people getting into longer series (like One Piece) is "don't Google anything". Even if you're looking up a character's age, autocomplete will likely spoil something major.
