You say that like these aren't gonna be some of the two longest months of your life. And then after that there will possibly be even MORE months until we get any more! And then if there is ANY more content after that we'll have to wait EVEN MORE!
I mean, the days already feel like they're zooming by, and I'm gonna be starting a job soon. Not gonna have time to actually care about Smash lol.

Even then, I've lost most of my interest in the game itself anyway, besides the occasonial casual match with my siblings.

So i went to the casino with my mother again, i almost won 1000 dollars, but only left with 200.
That... situation, is going to live rent free in my head for a while.

I just bought Yakuza Like a dragon, might be my last PS4 game, ive bought everything i wanted to play on this thing, and that whole PS4 situation kinda killed my interest in checking out other things on there that i havent tried yet.

A lot of people praise Heath Ledger's performance as Joker in The Dark Knight (and for good reason), but I rarely hear anyone talk about how amazing Aaron Eckhart was as Two Face.

Sonic Fans in pain yet again, what else is new.
Even though I’m a Nintendo boy, I’ve always thought console wars were stupid.

But imagine if you were an og Sega fan. You saw Sonic help them rise to prominence, and even overthrow Mario for a short time. And then the Saturn fails, and the Dreamcast fails, and then they go third party, and then they make Shadow, and 06, and all their other blunders through the years. It must’ve been so weird to see.

the game honestly had potential: the cutscenes and designs as they are actually look pretty solid all things considered.

It's the gameplay that sucks ass, and definitally needed more time to refine and finish.

What's so bad about it? I only have a base model PS4 and Xbox One so my systems can't even run the demo so I really can't get a good picture of the game for myself until I play it for myself. Which I probably will despite the reviews, but it would be nice to know what I'm in for.

Also.... really Naka? Couldn't you have made a GOOD game? Because you KNOW the idiotic studio execs are just gonna be like "duuuh, I guess people don't like platformers anymore!" again and we'll just continue to get less of them. Seriously. The genre is supposed to be ina resurgence and you just set it back by potential YEARS!

It’s fundamentally broken at its core. Every button does the same thing and that button all depends on what costume you’re wearing. If you’re wearing a costume that can’t jump you have to swap to one that can. Say you get all the way to one of the collectibles of the game, the trophy, only to find out that you don’t have the right costume. Well you have to backtrack to get the costume from either somewhere in level that you hopefully stored it from an earlier level. Or leave the level go to the other level get the costume you need and then go back to the other. But let’s say on your way back to that trophy that you need the costume for you accidentally forget that you don’t have a jump button so you walk off the ledge. You’ve now lost that costume so you have to do it all over again.

That’s Balan Wonderworld’s entire gameplay loop. It’s awful. Oh and Balan? Literally just a QTE... the same QTE... over and over and over.

Edit: if you’re an absolute masochist who just has to play the game though please just wait for it to end up in the bargain bin next month. Or rent it from a Red Box. The game is highway robbery otherwise. It’s actually that bad.

Edit 2: and trust me Balan didn’t set it back years, I promise. The game literally never left the era of early PS1 Gameplay. It’s easy to see why it failed so miserably.

Well I haven’t played, and I most likely won’t because I value my money and time.

From what I’ve researched, it’s simply rife with poor design decisions and a lack of interesting things to do.

You run around looking for stuff, but unlike in Mario or Banjo where you’ve got several moves that make the act of moving fun, all you’ve got in Balan is a jump. Every single button is jump. You go looking for challenges to get collectibles, but they aren’t particularly challenging or fun. It looks like mindless busywork.

And there are a ton of costumes, way too many, several of which are identical to other ones. And whatever functions they serve are all operated by the jump buttons. So if you get a costume that lets you shoot fire for example, you can no longer jump until you lose the costumes. And Balan does nothing except for some lame looking QTEs.

It’s got a cool style, but that’s about it. In a world with Mario Odyssey, or A Hat in Time. Balan Wonderworld simply is not worth the time or money.

Well... sounds like a guide game for sure.

Again. Still sucks though that this one platformer doing poorly is probably going to do more damage to the genre then all of the help the Crash and Spyro franchises success has given it. **** you.... whoever's responsible.

the gameplay sucks ass pretty much.

Everything is linked to one button, half of the items straight up are pointless or don't work(there are multiple instances where you recieve a power up to deal with an obstacle, only to get another powerup that makes you compelely immune to that hazard 5 minutes later which makes the first one pointless) and the game is so unpolished walking up to literally any friendly character unrenders them. UNRENDERS THEM. that's something that shouldn't happen, period.

The only redeeming thing about the game is the character design, such as Balan looking sick af, but that's really all the game has.

It does have one tiny bit of worth. Showing support for the genre. Although if everyone else has decided not to buy it then me giving them my money probably won't do much. Though I do still want to play it.

I don’t see anyone claiming that platformers as a genre are flawed and outdated. Just that Yuji Naka’s game design is flawed and outdated.
