What do you think about DK MU? I never play MK against them, but instead always pick Robot. I have so much easier time with Rob against those. So how is the MU?

I always thought it was rather evenish. But, what do I know... ive been outta the loop for about 3/4 of a year (and ROBs metagame has developed at such a breakneck pace since then.... ).

55:45 r.o.b..

Scary, when I typed in "R.O.B." in big characters it became small ones. ([Oo]

Yeah, DK kills much earlier than us, so we need to camp a lot to win against him, so it's pretty close to even, but in our advantage, so 55:45. I usually just go D3 though, because I'm a jerk.

We really need someone to take this over...

Are we skipping ZSS and Kirby to go to DK? Those and the ditto are what we're skipping if we continue to use tier list 4.

^Orly? Then try using Jiggz-only next time ;)

About the MU: From my point of view (DK) this seems pretty even-ish. DK can keep him offtstage and juggle him pretty well. DK outlives, outkills and slightly outranges ROB.
ROB Might have a slight advantage (55-45 perhaps) due to his projectiles and he can also keep DK away from the Edge pretty well (with Bair and his projectiles). ROBs Edge-trapping game is also kinda **** + the fact that DKs ledge options are garbage when his % is over 100.

Rob's ledgeoptions are also garbage. The MU is about running away and racking damagelol.

as with all character with no way of dealing with projectile's, also dk's shield is absolutely terrible, no lie is shocking (used to use dk for a while)
we can juggle dk to hell, seeing as his d-air leaves a lot to be desired for coverage, we can deal with his b-air easy, our ftilt outranges it (although his has higher priority so i'd be careful about trying to challenge it) and easy edgeguarding for us too.
60-40 i'd say

Think 6:4 is a bit much. His bair goes toe to grabber with our fair and despite us being able to gimp and camp he still kills much earlier. Hes one of the few that can actually outrange us although he isn't disjointed when doing it.

Ban Japes if its legal or he will NEVER die. Also try to stay away from cramped stages since he can cover nearly the whole stage by taking a step or two in either direction.

55:45 our adv or maybe even. Leaning more towards 55:45

hmm maybe it is, but if you play defensive enough he wont get the chance to kill you, i may be one of the less than stellar r.o.bs, but **** i can survive if i cant do anything else XD
but yes your point is valid. maybe more like 55:45

I usually live pretty **** long with Rob against DK. I won't let him hit me. I am constantly walling with my moves. Retreating stutterstep fsmash is very effective as if he whiffs the hitbox will reach his hurtbox and fsmash is well disjointed.

His uair is what kills me. That is just one **** nuts uair DK got.

yeah, its heavily underrated. but its stil easy enough to avoid as anyone except r.o.b, i swear our mobility is the one thnig that screws him over more than anything

I agree with you, someone need to take over. Let's start with ZSS after DK, okay? This one is an exception.

Id be fine with the mobility as is, as long as there was a legitimate D-air option.

few characters have legitimate d-air option, however jsut a general option to cover below them, our n-air is sadly too slow and lasts for too shorter time underneath r.o.b to call it a good replacement. and those without one normally have a good enough air mobility to move out of the way on incoming attacks form below.
oh look, mobility ruins us again XP

Too bad it extends our hitbox like a mile and when whiffed it sucks. Otherwise a very nice move to have.
Oh and it does low damage.

but then you gt them away, which leads to either another laser or a gyro depending on DI. that makes it a bit more
pls if we had a snake ftilt we'd be top tier still

Few?

MK, Falco, Wario, Olimar, Pika, DDD, Lucario, Kirby, Fox, Peach, Luigi, Ness, Yoshi, Lucas(ish?), Mario, Jigglypuff all, imo, have legitimate D-air options. Approx 1/2 the cast > a few.

Just my ten cents, my two cents are free.

I dunno if this has been discussed before, but what about Diddy Kong? Lag or not, I can't seem to beat any Diddy players on wi-fi (well, good ones anyway). It's those infernal bananas! Maybe I'm doing something wrong, since last I checked, the MU is, like, 55:45 in favor of R.O.B.! :O

youre spending too much time on the floor, imo to beast diddy kong to geerally need to spend most of your time in the air, it appears we can do that quite well considering our versatile up-b

Wow, that makes so much sense. I ought to play more Diddy players (*cough* DJ Rave *cough*) and practice. Of course, the wi-fi lag could prove an obstacle, but still not a big deal. XD

not sure if sarcasm
but to be an advantage vs. diddy kong would be absurd, his aerials are good, probably on par with ours and we're forces to avoid stayingon the floor all the time, we do have to refuel at some point, i would imagine this is oe of the few MU's where we actually want platforms

ccst just shut up.

About Diddy, remember, you can do stuff more awesome than Diddy if you get the bananas. He can still do aerial nanner combos, thought they are similar to Rob's aerial gyro combos.

The MU when played correctly should be nearly timeout. You must wait for Diddy to lose the control of his bananas. When he has only one nanner, he isn't so scary. And never just simply throw the nanner back to Diddy since that's just stupid.

happy birthday, but it doesnt allow you to be mean ^.^
the general idea is to not even attempt to use his nana's, jsut stop him from getting them. because ill bet my left testicle that they are better at using them than you are, smash throwing them up is probably best bet because then it takes about 4 seconds to come back down, also a diddy without his nana's will be worknig to get the mback, possible in a punishable manner

I just usually camp with a naner in my hand. That way I can do cool **** like nanner GT into charged gyro shot.

Also, thanks.

yeah, bu then we're limited to our b-moves only, and we have to throw the nana if we want to do any a moves, although it may be worth learning z-drop aerial catching.

you forget that diddy kong was high tier even before banana spam became his metagame

It's from my experience. I have played this MU and man we were even. I usually did good when I had a naner. Attacking when he has 2 would be just stupid.

I think ZSS was next on our list... but who actually plays the MU? I've played it a little bit on wifi but the guy didn't even know the infinite.

As for Diddy I'm still solidly convinced that we win 55:45 at the LEAST, and I'm more comfortable saying we win 6:4. ROB has excellent control of a banana when he gets it and getting one isn't that hard hard. You can also place a spinning gyro on top of a banana and it makes it difficult for Diddy to pick it up and if you have possession of the banana he can't get it without getting hit by the gyro or tripping. Diddy can't touch us camping from far away, we BEAT him in the air, we OUTKILL him (how often do we get to say that), and gimping him isn't the easiest thing in the world but its still very possible.

If you have major issues with the bananas pick diddy up for a short time and learn the banana game.... its pretty much the same for ROB.
