Not that anyone asked for my life story, but I'm gonna be out visiting relatives for the entirety of E3. Being out in the country, they don't even have internet. I sincerely hope to see this topic, Mewtwo's, and K. Rool's exploding with hype by the time I'm back... in a good way :upsidedown:

Sorry, but I just need to jump in here. Yellow Devil is not Mega Man's hype machine. Units don't sell on a "the Devil's in here" basis. If I had to chose a character who would do that, not counting characters we already know to be in those games (Mega Man, X, MegaMan.EXE, ect.), I'd have to say Proto Man, Bass, or Zero (except for Mega Man Zero, cause he's kind of already known to be in those).

Zero would be awesome, but he wouldn't be in Smash. He's already in MVC3 :(. Unless Capcom allows him to be in SSB5. We won't see another Capcom representative.

Nor should we. We need more Nintendo characters (read: Ridley/Shulk/Palutena/Mewtwo/K.Rool) before a second character from a third party.

I'm not saying that he should be in Smash. Personally, while I do love Zero's character, I feel that Capcom overuses him when promoting the Mega Man franchise. I'm all for the Mega Man we actually have. I'm refuting the idea that Yellow Devil is a hype machine equal to Ridley, which some are using to say Riddles is a boss.

Back on topic: Ridley, yeah! Big fan, big fan, I hope he's playable.

But Mega Man is in MvsC and MvsC2.

Also, MvsC3 is dead, Capcom lost the Marvel license, so they will not release anything new for the game anymore.

So, Zero is free. I don't want him in Smash, though (but I would take him over X or Volnutt)

Slightly off topic, but I think I stumbled upon one of your videos yesterday. The internet is a small world.

But yeah I dunno. We've got what, six days left until E3?

You know, I realized something. Since the demo is local time, people living in the middle of the country or on the west coast will know what's going on the demo probably well before we actually get to play it. :p

And because Charizard, Pit and Meta Knight have undamaged wings, they can jump infinitely! Yeahh, it doesn't really work like that. Ridley will be constrained as much as any other character to keep him balanced; he doesn't need to be battle damaged to be nerfed.

True. My point was to have a character who is said to be pretty much always flying to have a reason to not be. But it ultimately doesn't matter.

Play Metroid Prime 3. Ridley barely flights in that game, at least in his fight against Samus.

Doesn't Kirby normally have infinite jumps in his own games? Except for Kirby 64? I don't think he has a real reason to have a limit to how many jumps he has.

He still has a ton of extra jumps though. In fact when I first played Melee at my cousin's house I'd always pick him because of that (being the severely inexperienced kid I was back then).

In any case Ridley, while not having unlimited flight, could get extra jumps along with Peach's floating ability so he can be lord of the aerial game.

If Ridley gets another tease with no confirmation at E3 that'll confirm that Sakurai got sick of people asking for Ridley and now he wants to pull them over the coals.

I think with the demo it would be really hard to tease Ridley and give no indication as to whether he's playable or not.

Pit can't fly infinitely any more btw, we learned about that in the Direct. Also, I'm sure that they will buff Meta Knight so he can't fly FOREVER.

In fact, Beware the Forest's Mushrooms was actually going to be a music track, but Squeenix is REALLY protective of its property.

Maybe SE thought it'd be used inappropriately and denied permission. Music is fiercely guarded on all sides, as the last decade shows. It's not like Ridley's theme gets used for EVERY crisis situation in all action games.

You think that's ridiculous, Medusa was compared to a random cartoon character once. Not a game character. A cartoon character. I swear, people need to learn a bit about what does and doesn't pan out for Smash Bros.

No. Some cartoon monkey who doesn't even really have to do with anything.

But seriously. If you are taking a nintendo franchise antagonist and comparing them to:

1) A minor third party character which Nintendo has no rights to and would probably not get rights for from said 3rd party
2) A cartoon character who already by definition is not valid for the roster in any way

You need to check yourself a bit there.
