I know how it must feel too. After all, aren't/weren't you a Ridley supporter as well?

That's one of the best things that I like about Smash speculation, even if it ends up being painful in the end.
Yeah, I was a Ridley supporter. I still technically support him being playable. I just don't think he will be based on my feeling of the Direct and what have you.

I'll be hyped if he gets revealed. It's not like I'm going to be all "WHAT THE **** RIDLEY IS PLAYABLE 0/10 WOULD NOT BANG" or anything like that.

I think the Pyrosphere debate would be a lot less heated (haha) if those holes weren't there.

It's been a while since I've played Other M. Can somebody tell me what things in the Pyrosphere stage appear in the original Geothermal Power Plant? I know the purple lights at the bottom of the platform didn't appear in Other M, but I'm not so sure about the cracks in the wall.

If I were someone who was competing with some other HQ consoles, I would attempt to make everything look as quality and awesome as possible
I agree, after all, if they're able to make a 60/30 fps split for pc's/npc's on the handheld version, I would imagine that they could the same on the home console version.

After Samus and Ridley duke it out, Ridley blasts a hole in the wall in order to escape.

That gash? Not there before. Maybe it's an exaggeration of Ridley's wall scrape with Samus.

Basically, assuming this Pyrosphere is faithful to Other M, we shouldn't encounter Ridley because he's already escaped and near-death.

But since the stage is called Pyrosphere, there's also Goyagma,

And the Vorash.

I think the Wii U is powerful enough to 60 FPS everything. After all, for whatever reason graphics are important again, so they need to show why Wii U is as visually impressive as XBOne and the PS4.

An incredibly simple explanation is that the hole is a static background detail, its there from the start of the match. Ridley doesnt have to open it, he just flies through it.
Oh yea then why is it on the final destination version? If ridley comes out of the hazard.

Beside ridley made the hole to leave the pyrosphere and never when back in.

In Other M, you have that destroyed bridge in front of the entrance.
It is destroyed by Ridley at the beginning of the encounter.
Otherwise there's that hole in the wall right above the door, also caused by Rids.

In Smash's Pyrosphere however, the hole is a little more at the right and there is another big hole.
Neither those purple things at the side nor the platforms of Smash's Pyrosphere are given in Other M.

I have to agree with this sentiment, it is important to remember that those of us that are questioning things like the shadow argument or other such arguments are not doing it because we don't want Ridley in the game. It's merely that the way we view the evidence in the direct of having a liternal direct meaning behind them. To each his own.

Thanks for the answers. I completely forgot that the Pyrosphere stage takes place after the battle between Samus and Ridley.

So guys, Ike being announced today actually helps Ridley's chance. Go look at Miiverse or any comments section and what do you see? "Chrom disconfirmed" "Aw man, i wanted Chrom" "What does that mean for Chrom?" These are constant. Why would Sakurai reveal Ike so close to E3? If you believe the Gematsu leak, you know Chrom is still coming. Sakurai is lowering people's hopes just to bring them back up again. I believe we'll see Chrom at E3 and people will be surprised. Just as surprised as people will be when Ridley is revealed after being seemingly disconfirmed.

For fun, I pretended Ridley was disconfirmed.

I approached this Ridley case from all sides, trying to prove he's a boss, but I'm actually coming up with nothing to show for it.

I mean, there's the subtitle and him grabbing Pikachu in the air, but when I tried making him as huge as possible, I turned up with something slightly bigger than Bowser at best, smaller than Pikachu at worst.

I notice some people did loose hope for chrom a little bit but not entirely (i was one of them for a few minutes.)

Just like with mewtwo.

And ridley from the homework on the shadow.

Hmm, a two-sided deconfirmation spree it seems. Those who are undeniably 100% out of the running like Dillon and Wonder Red, and, subtly mixed in alongside, characters whose fates aren't totally disclosed but at face value look to be terminated, like Mewtwo, Chrom (though his case is more fan overreaction), and of course, Ridley.

Yeah, Sakurai's smart like that. And let's hope you're right. Cuz I want my Ridley, Mewtwo and Chrom at E3.(Also Palutena :))

Ike being revealed for SSB4 is a great treat, but it is more of some trolling bait from Sakurai (for those who wish for a new comer to be revealed before E3).

In all seriousness that would require Pyrosphere be one of the only if not the only stage excluded from the E3 demo. And if Pyrosphere is conveniently missing, I take that as a confirmation personally. Because wow, REALLY?

Well, clearly Ridley's boss programming wasn't finished.

It takes a long time to program a single stage hazard. You know how it is. One boss will take at LEAST 7-8 months to finish. Makes sense.

But really that demo changes a lot of things. E3 will be a very intense couple of days.

If Sakurai removes Pyrosphere from the Best Buy Demos, then that shows just how desperate Sakurai is to troll Ridley fans.

I seriously hope this isn't the case, I think the Ridley troll is enough, and Pyrosphere has already been featured numerous times in PotD's, so I think Sakurai would at least give the fans the liberty of experiencing the stage when the Demos roll around. Also, have we determined if the demos will be before or after the Smash Q&A and Invitational?

Wouldn't Pyrosphere being in the demo _without_ Ridley as a stage boss be also a pretty confirming fact?

Most definitely, I think it would be safe to assume that both the Regular and FD versions of most stages will be available to play at the Smash Demos, so all it would take is one match on the Pyrosphere to confirm/deconfirm Ridley as a stage hazard/boss.

I think the Demos will take place during the Smash Q&A Invitational at the E3 theater, but will take place around 6:00 P.M. at Best Buys or whenver Best Buy decides to allow people to play the game.

Yes, but that;'s obvious. Basically the demo is going to have one of three outcomes.

1. Ridley is a stage boss on Pyrosphere. Deconfirmed.
2. Ridley isn't a stage boss on Pyrosphere. Confirmed.
3. Pyrosphere is conveniently removed from the demo despite the fact that it is one of the stages we have seen the MOST of for one of the longest periods of time. Effectively confirmed, because what?

So I mean thanks to the demo, Ridley's fate WILL be known after E3 no matter what. And I assume Sakurai knows that, so if Ridley is playable he would just reveal him there as a newcomer. Possibly even alongside the a new unnanounced Metroid title for the 3DS. (If only)

The stage may not do a 1:1 recreation of the Other M fight. The holes can exist independently of Ridley being a stage hazard. Its a possibility.

Alright, I've finished up my Specials moveset for infinite flight Ridley:
moveset 2.png

Side Special: Operates similarly to the Koopa Klaw. Ridley grabs the opponent, and begins biting and tearing away. While this is Ridley's strongest attack in terms of damage, knockback is minimal, as Ridley simply drops his opponent if they offer no resistance after a while. While in flight mode, Ridley's horizontal flight is locked, restricting him to flying up and down.

Hey-ho everybody. Having been taking most of my time to work on a project for College, I forgot to mention that it's based around Metroid...Metroid: Zero Mission to be exact as my topic of choice. I'm not going to go into deep detail of what the project is about, but I will say it let me draw quite a few big parts of the game, so I thought, being Metroid fans yourselves, you'd like to see them:

These aren't all of them, just the ones I found to be the best drawn. Just a little something to pass the time as it looks like nothing's really going on.

The game that started the "Samus in Spandex" craze for years to come, made Ridley build a giant robot of himself, and made Metroid 1 enjoyable in a more convenient and streamlined form.

I want to play Zero Mission some time myself.

It's a spectacular game, but expect to lose several times to Mecha Ridley. Seriously. I used to speedrun Zero Mission any% exhibition (meaning, I completed the game ASAP as it was intended to be played), and I spent days trying to figure out a consistent way to kill Mecha Ridley, and I had a solid number of resources getting to that point.

Seriously. Watch this. I'll wait.

I know, right? That's the minimum number of items you can acquire in the game and this guy does it on Hard Mode. Pretty much the reason I stopped. You can't top that without it being a TAS.
