Fellow space pirates how many people have you witnessed join this boards and they come straight to this thread to post there first post.

I aint been here for that long but i think its been like more than 5 people for sure?

What about Veterans like Johnknight/WarioFan/EnteiGuy/Oasis/Ismar/scholosijohn etc and others!

My...they must have witnessed even more...serious theres a reason this is the only char thread i visit anymore it really is more than just a thread its a second home full of love and compasion people with diferrnt height, age, weight, race, skin colour and beliefs all united for the same cause!

I know, and I love Ridley! but...that one...for me, it is not Ridley, not the one i used for inspiration for many of my proyects, the one that i saw for the first time on SM, the one that i was desperate to find in Prime 3 and the one that im looking for in Prime 1, the one that i learned to draw in a really hard way, and the one that caused me to have a friendly rivalry with my cousin when i was younger...and I have shown resentment and that im intolerant in that aspect...and i can't help it... im sorry....

And it is most likely that Retro does a better work design wise with him.....specially if sakamoto gets out of their way....

And if they are going to put some Prime 3 stuff... that at least they put the 3 hunters trophies and Omega...or Meta....i don't know...

Aw, it's alright... You didn't do anything wrong. It's just, you know... Well I don't like Ridley-X for the most part anymore than the next person either, so there's that.

Oh yeah, I just remembered Ridley's pure robotic form in Zero Mission also had green eyes, whether it's using the little eye laser or not. Was pretty cool; think I liked that better than Other Ridley's green eyes.

To be fair, out of the other Metroid games Sakamoto directed (original Metroid, Super, Fusion, Zero Mission), he never had a Ridley that was like the Other M design, so Other Ridley's appearance was more Team Ninja's doing than it was his, and I don't think him being a content advisor to the Metroid Prime games hurt them quality-wise or anything. Just don't have him be a script writer again, and all is good. Like someone else once said, he's kinda like the George Lucas of the series. Had some great ideas when he was younger, but somewhere along the way he lost sight of what made Samus and company... what they are to other people I guess.

As for Prime 3 content, that's what I'm hoping for at the very least if we don't get some stage. Am sure some soundtracks might be included too though.

Anyway, the canvas size for 3DS Miiverse is rather small as you can imagine, but kinda like what I'm able to do with it still...

I'm 100% a Prime 1 fanboy. Don't get me wrong, I love the 2D Metroids, but Metroid Prime 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, to this day. Outstanding in terms of story, music, length, and gameplay.

I might not buy a Wii - U for Sm4sh, because I have my 3ds. However, if a new Prime-style metroid comes out for the Wii - U, with features like the gamepad for visors and minimap, and - gasp - online multiplayer? That would sell me a Wii - U.

I know it's kind of irrelevant to say this but I guess I always had a personal impression that Ridley's kind were somewhat like lions or something, and Ridley just was one of those special cases that was so good at doing what he did that he just didn't even bother with a group of other dragons and raised a space pirate army instead.

Though on another note Meta Ridley is definitely by far my favorite thing. For me nothing else even fully compares.

I have a scanner, but when the drawing is -too big- for it i usually use my cellphone....but i think that a camera on a 3DS could work the same, is you pass that photo to an SD card an later to a computer or like i usually do, upload it on FB with my cellphone and later share it here.

Glad that my small lessons on how to draw him had been helpful! :3 it was nothing really.... and like i always say, if you want more advises for it, just ask me any time you want!

My favorite Ridley design is Other M's because that's the one that he'll be playable in and also is the one that destroys pretty much every argument any real Ridley detractor has.

The other m design might not be as pretty as super metroid but I do like the other m design

Another think to think is that ridley has so many design options just think of other characters and there alt costume options. It could add so much more single player value.

It's kind of ironic to imagine that Ridley and Samus may share the same history :
-The Galactic federation kill Rildey species,
-Ridley want to take revenge on them.

-Ridley kill Samus parents and the Chozo,
-Samus wants to take revenge on him.

-Samus kills the metroids,
-The baby mistake Samus for it's mother and saved her twice.

-Thanks to the baby Metroid cells, Samus kill the X parasites.

I'm not expecting an alternate costume, those seem to be reserved for either avatar characters (WFT, likely Villager) or costumes with great importance and a lot of demand (Wario's overalls.)

As for regular colors, I'm expecting his blue color to look like Neo-Ridley, his red color to look like the Super Metroid box and concept art, his green to probably look like the Zero Mission concept art, and then he'll probably have some grim-dark recolor like Meta Knight had, or if we're lucky a Meta Ridley recolor instead.

Hi every ridley fans I've been checking this thread alot but I think I should tell why ridley would be good in ssb4 (and also, I found a clear example of why the famous too big argument is irrelevant)

So, my opinion on ridley is that it would be good that it's there and would actually end up being unique and fun to use but tbh I can live without him. Yes I did heard alot of the multiple ways to bring the argument but I have to admit, some example already discussed (melee intro, olimar scale, possible representation etc...) proved me that it doesn't matter.

But recently, I was checking my melee trophy gallery and I found this:

and after rotating, checking the model in every angle, I found out how much this model would be so good and would actually be really great if it was playable. tbh, the only thing I saw was the tail was kinds long but I think that's easily fixable and shouldn't be an issue. So, I think I can say everything about this model other than being too big for me, it's just the final proof that this argument is nothing but relevant and Ithink that a this point, it would be good to support ridley.

So that's all what do you think about this model? if it was playable how would you feel about it?

Those are the proportions I always imagined a playable Ridley with, but probably with a thicker neck, a shorter tail (like you stated) and it'd probably be wise to scale his wings down a tiny bit too. And since this is the Super Metroid design, which with upgraded graphics becomes the Brawl design, aka the best design for a playable Ridley imo, I have no complaints at all. Since this Ridley was my first experience with the guy, it's always been how I imagined he'd look as a playable character in Smash Bros. So yeah, I can only agree with you.

Just thought of this, "If" retro is making a new Metroid game what they could after they show the new game, is to do a reveal for smash bros, in the reveal it will be mostly showing Samus, well more importantly the return of Zero Suit Samus, this will go to show what they have done for her and as everyone is thinking that it is just to show about Z.S. Samus, Ridley comes swoops down and attacks attacks her and knocks her out of the Pyrosphere stage to show that he is coming in.

Yeah, Ridley's reveal will most likely just happen randomly if anything. I'm past expecting Metroid this E3 due to their comment on how they've only worked on it for a few months. Then again, depends if they talking implementing the content, or the start of the planning phase. Sounds like the latter to me though.

So, this guy on that GameXplain video was wondering why people want Ridley when we could get Anthony/Dark Samus/one-off hunters whose names I could care less about/ etc. I wrote saying that people want Ridley because he is an integral Nintendo character. He jumped into defensive mode for no reason, called what I said...fecal matter, and decided to randomly bring up how "stupid Ridley would look if scaled down". Here's what I said.

Dark Samus: Metroid Prime 2&3
Adam Malkovich: Other M (mentioned in Fusion)
Anthony Higgs: Other M
Warrior Ing: Echoes
Anyone else: Either Corruption or Hunters (one of the two.)
Ridley: Metroid, Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Fusion, Prime 1, Prime 3, Pinball, Other M.

Every character on this list is a one or two-shot character, except Ridley. He is integral to the franchise, appearing in every game except Metroid II, Hunters, and Prime. None of those characters are as important to the grand scheme of Metroid lore like Ridley is. Let's remember who is the driving force behind Samus' bounty hunting; the one who killed her parents and indirectly convinced her that, if no one is there to stop the Space Pirates, then people the galaxy over will be in the pain that she feels. Please come up with a better argument other than simply calling the facts a pile of dung.

Also, scaling him down is not as extreme as you make it out to be. People generally dramatize the idea of "scaling down" as if he would become the smallest character in the game. He could easily be just a little bit bigger than Bowser and still look natural.
