Which is a shame, considering the great beautiful environments Metroid tends to have, and out of them, only teh lava still gets acknowledged years and years later.

How much footage was shown? I haven't seen the Direct.

If it was at least a little more over a minute, then I'll be positive that theres no hazard on the Pyrosphere. No Ridley, no rising lava/acid. While it would boost Ridley's chances to an extremely high percent, it doesn't absolutely guarantee him being playable.

There was about 40 seconds of total footage, with like less than 2 seconds on Pyrosphere (enough to show just a single attack and the lava flowing)

No Ridley.

I'm calling it. It's a neutral stage. No stage hazard.

Not that im supporting team down with ridley i swear but only half the stage was shown in that trailer and plus it was less than 5 seconds of footage no way to call it neutral anything could have happen if it was a lot more footage time of that stage

But i asure your if ridley becomes playable i might make myself a party for this for myself

Well great, 2 seconds worth of footage of a stage we've seen far too many times in pics, and none of the pics, nor the small amount of footage showed ANYTHING significant relating to the stage.

Apparently, only lava area exists according to Smash.

In Metroid canon Phendrana Drifts, Sanctuary Fortress, SkyTown/Elysia, etc. eventually all got covered in lava at some point!

Oh, and SSB4's Pyrosphere covered whatever was left of the Biosphere and Cyrosphere in the Bottleship.

well, Frigate Orpheon didn't have lava in it... this doesn't necessarily have to either. there's a lot of seemingly neutral stages revealed so far. I bet a second traditional lava/acid stage will show up from Prime or something

Technically only Norfair had any superheated/liquid rock matter. All 3 Brinstars had acid; even then, Norfair has magma, not lava.

I hadn't forgotten the Frigate Orpheon, but didn't comment on it because well... I'm surprised they didn't have the Parasite Queen summon some kind of lava or acid from the background while they were at it. As for Pyrosphere, if it doesn't have Ridley in all his hazardous glory, it's kinda hard to not see the stage having rising/falling lava of some kind.

Lava/magma, acid, and whatever material from Metroid that has yet to be used as a hazard like Phazon or fuel gel, may as well all be the same damn thing far as Smash stages are concerned, as they're mostly executed in a same fashion.

You know what would be funny, once Ridley is confirmed playable character, everything that goes after him like items, new characters, stages or something, first will need to pass the inspection of Ridley like hey "How about this stage from Ice Climbers" is to purple for Ridley, next. Or maybe a "item like the energy tank from Mega Man" is to small for Ridley. You get the idea it will be funny as revenge to all people that say Ridley is to big for Smash.
